My 1st irk was on the uplift of my approved Mini Clubman ( Mini Tayside) , where it was in by no means cleaned to a standard one would expect. Dusty & Bird droppings on windscreen along with extensive white marks on nearside plastic at sill level. No attempt to remove/polish out what guess was old bird dropping marks clear on bonnet and roof.
Then , I took home for my husband who whilst cleaning and going through the car to find a fog light inopertive along with the 4 tyres being the wrong size for car as advised by mini data.
(Apparently, when out having wheels refurbished they replaced the tyres with the wrong tyres)
I found it very disappointing that it was for the customer to pick up and not by garage or during new MOT pre uplift.
This has led me to question what else (hopefully nothing) and caused a trip from West Lothian to Dundee to have rectified.
Overall, I would have expected a perfectly presented car and especially so as is sold as an approved example.
I should be praising the service recieved however as clear from above, it has fell way short of expectations.
Can do better !

I live in Northern Ireland and I collected car from John Clark Mini in Dundee in Scotland. Upon returning home I discovered that the car had a scrape on rear diffuser that was not pointed out. Also the tyres were mixed runflats and non runflats on same axle. Two tyres were cheap budget Invovic Chinese ones. Upon inspection by my local Mini dealer one of these had a bulge on the sidewall which was described as dangerous! John Clark Mini did pay for two new tyres to replace these and also the inspection hence they got more than the one star I was going to give. If I deal with them again I will pay greater attention before buying and collecting the vehicle.

Bought a used Mini and the car was not as agreed on collection with 2 MOT failure points despite having just been MOT’d !
In the end took 28 days to get the car as agreed after stories, missed timelines and lack of contact.
Felt as a second hand car buyer I was an inconvenient necessity.

Great experience it’s the first time I have bought a car from John clark.

Would recommend anyone looking for a car to go to the mini branch in Dundee.

Three weeks to get a car ready for wife. We asked on several occasions is the gearbox and transmission oil been done was told it was and after collecting it and contacting a mini service centre we find out it's not so having to get that done next week the car was not even serviced before we go it, if it was it aint documented, what took them three weeks. Spend yesterday polishing the car and using tar remover to get tar of the bottom of the car. On handover was handed keys explained we had one before but gearbox went in it hence use been very cautious about ensuring things were done right. They also added things on which until the final day of collecting we never got an itemisation of price until wife spoke to manager and if I new price at the start would never of taken them. The fact we told garage at very start we needed car asap and the took near on 3 weeks is reason for zero stars and no servicing was done

Had the car for 8 days now and already on the way back to John clark mini the spring has snapped which has caused a blow out, yet the car has just had a mot done with no advisories. Springs don't just break and corrosion should of been picked up on on the mot

I recently purchased a car and overall had a positive experience with the dealership. The staff were very friendly, approachable, in a relaxed environment, which I really appreciated.
However, communication around the delivery of the car could have been much better. I wasn’t given clear information about when to expect the vehicle, and I only received confirmation of the delivery date four days beforehand. This made it difficult to plan ahead and caused some unnecessary uncertainty.

Brian was so easy to deal with he completed put me at ease and was extremely helpful. I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending anyone to visit John Clark motors.

Liam McDonald kept me fully updated in the lead‑up to collection, including progress and all the paperwork I needed to complete. On the day itself, he was efficient, explained the car clearly, and made sure I knew I could get in touch with any questions afterwards. I did have a couple of queries later on, and Liam resolved them quickly and helpfully.

The car arrived in excellent condition — a much better experience than with a previous dealer — and it looks great and drives beautifully. Overall, I’m a very happy customer.

My husband contacted mini and spoke with David regarding what type of mini we were looking for. David advised that a car had just arrived that he thinks would suit us. We traveled from Aberdeen to Dundee and was not disappointed. We advised what we could afford and worked out a deal with David that we were happy with. We were advised the car would be ready the next week, and they would call and keep us advised on progress. Just as they said car was ready to pick up a weak after and they kept us up to date with all that was required. The whole experience from start to finish was excellent. All the staff were really helpful and were there to answer all our questions. I found staff really approachable. Car picked up and we were beeming all over. Thank you for a really nice experience.

Liam is a great salesman. Very friendly and real. Not cheesy or overbearing at all. A pleasure to deal with and an asset to his dealership.
