Professional and efficient. Great company to do business with. No hard sell and very knowledgable. We were really pleased with the whole experience from start to finish.

Bought a car with them and had some problem with the exhaust. They helped me with the warranty and were very quick and responsive

Excellent people to do business with, vehicle exactly as described. Car was delivered to our home at a time to suit us on a transporter on a Saturday morning. Dale replied to my original enquiry even though he was away in Wales for the weekend, overall lovely experience.

James and Dale were brilliant, had a test drive, talked us through everything, the car was pristine both inside and out, needless to say we bought it. If you are looking to buy a new car, give these guys a call, you won't be disappointed

From start to finish absolutely amazing customer service. My first car after passing my test a couple of weeks before.
Had that car for a little while now it's a nice little runner. The service book had full service including new 1 from JD Cars I have recommended the company to others.

I bought a car from JD Cars that was advertised with a full service history and in good condition. The buying process started off smoothly, but three weeks in, I discovered the number plates didn’t match the registered number. This serious error could have led to legal trouble if I hadn’t caught it myself.

JD Cars blamed their supplier and only offered an apology. They initially asked me to drive from Leeds to Doncaster with the wrong plates; completely unreasonable. They eventually agreed to post replacements, but they arrived late, with no tracking info or follow-up. As a result, I couldn’t use my car for a week.

Also, beware of ambiguous claims around “full service history.” JD Cars consider a service every 10,000 miles as FSH even if the car went over two years without a service. That’s not standard. Always go through the paperwork carefully and double-check details before agreeing on a price.

Poor after-sales support and careless handling of important checks.

Updated after seller’s response:

I am posting an update so any future buyers do their due diligence before making their purchase.

I was only given two options:
1) To visit (by driving a car with illegal plates) and get the plates fitted in person, or
2) To post them using recorded delivery.

You mentioned in your response that you were opening on Sunday especially for me, but when I asked if someone could come to fit the plates, you said you had a weekend full of appointments and couldn’t come (texts are with me) .

What was upsetting is that I was asked to drive the car with incorrect number plates, which is illegal. On my refusal, you posted the plates.

The plates didn’t arrive on Monday, and when I inquired in the evening, I was told I would receive them on Tuesday as the post had already gone on Saturday when you sent them.
(Again texts are with me).

I purchased a 15-year-old car and paid £4,850, which is not a small amount. Before I visited you, I asked if you are open to negotiating and you said Yes. Negotiation is always part of used car sales, and we agreed on the price so I don’t see how it was a favour.

As for the full service history, we had already agreed on the price before checking the paperwork. You should not be advertising a car as Full Service History when it is not - simple as that.

My review is intended to help other potential buyers double-check such details in advance.

I was in need of an upgrade as I use a car daily for work. My mechanic had recommended Toyota Aygos but spent a few months looking with not a lot of look due to dodgy histories or they were a lot of money for what they were.
After already being let down once by someone in Sheffield, I was rather cautious about salespeople and garages, but Dale and James made sure I was at ease and answered any questions I had.
A bunch of down to Earth guys and made sure I was happy before putting through the purchase. Even drove the car to me and took away my old one that I’d part ex’d with them as I was local to them :)

Visited JD cars yesterday to view a Toyota Aygo. Car was extremely well prepared and presented. The buying process was transparent and patient (particularly as my internet banking took some time!).

Always excellent service and you can rely on them to make sure your vehicle is in top condition when it leaves them. Just had a 14year old car serviced there and it's better than when it was new. Honestly, 5 stars all the way.

I had to change our viewing date due to us travelling from North Lanarkshire, this was no problem.
Both father and son so very helpful in answering my questions. Car was ready to go and as described in the ad.. All paperwork available. Had a test drive all good.
Transaction completed quickly. Even some fuel in the car.
It was a delight to deal with JD cars. My daughter is delighted with her little Aygo.
If only all car salesmen were like this. Wishing you both continued success in the future.

We did not read the information correctly that it was appointment only and turned up on spec. We called the telephone number and although that was the case and they had a prior engagement they went out of their way to accommodate us and were so friendly and knowledgeable that we bought a car there and then and drove away in it the same afternoon.

Really good experience buying a car from Dale and his Dad. This company was recommended by a person local to me so we went to have a look. We were unaware that they work through appointments only so when we couldn't find them at the spot shown on Google maps we gave them a ring. We happened to be just yards away and they invited us to go and have a chat with them. So glad we did as they had a car that had just been taken in part exchange which absolutely matched our requirements. Beautiful car in excellent condition with an up to date MOT. Dale gave us a good price on our old Toyota and a good deal on a warranty. Dale also spent quite a while showing us how to work all the 'bells and whistles.' We are loving our new car. I can highly recommend this company

Fantastic service from both James and Dale, bought my step-sons first car from them, travelled down from Scotland, Dale picked me up from the train station, car was pristine, exactly like pictures and video. He sorted out warranty and insurance for me to drive away.
Highly recommended, would definitely buy from them again.

Family run business, no pressure sale, really nice, genuine people, when we went to collect our car, everything was ready to go, also a litte surprise in the car waiting on the dashboard, 🙂. Purchased car online for my daughter's first car. What I liked was the the professional customer service. Dale went above and beyond considering we stay in North Lanarkshire. Organised delivery car price all within our budget. My daughter was ecstatic. The delivery day fell on Valentine's day and there was a hamper full of goodies in the car.
