Great birds and a very helpful and knowledgeable person

A Father Christmas – it’s a Birds Thing has brought the most magical gift to my 5-year-old daughter - an absolutely amazing, tame female Lutino cockatiel named Pixey. The joy she has brought into our home is something truly special.

Lee, the owner, has been incredible from the very beginning. From the first phone call, he was welcoming, patient, and genuinely kind. He took the time to explain everything, answered every question, and never once made me feel pressured to buy a bird. His care, honesty, and clear love for what he does made the entire experience feel safe and heartfelt.

I couldn’t have asked for a better experience, and I am so grateful to Lee for helping create such a beautiful memory for our family.

I think you needed to do some more homework in finding the correct person to help make the bird world a safer place.

I've been a customer of Lee's since 25/04/22 until anytime in the future for futher purchases.
Now it has to be said that i was scammed for a large sum of money via crypto, just months earlier, so to say i was nervous to buy a bird online was an understatement.
I needn't have worried. Lee always replied to messages, ring when I asked, said if he was busy and would return calls or messages. Supplied as much information as possible. Think I was a bit of pain in the arse to be honest, but Lee was always patience with me.
1st purchase was delightful mini macaw, a new cage and a travel cage for the bird. Lee sorted a reliable bird courier for a date suitable for us both and even manage to get the courier to include the flatpack cage. Courier arrived on time, the mini macaw was in excellent health and condition, had plenty of food and water and seemed unaffected by his long journey from Northampton to North East of England.
2nd purchase was Nov 22, a companion for the mini macaw. I bought a conure from Lee as was so impressed with the service I'd previously received.
Yet again an excellent service with Lee making a subtle travel box for the conure and arranging the courier. Bird arrived on time and in perfect condition.
3rd purchase was 17/04/25. Managed to make some more room so Lee is now the ONLY person I'd buy a bird from as he provides a highly recommended service and I truly trust him.
I bought an older, semi tame Red Lored Amazon. (Lee said there was, something special about the bird), a cockatiel and a moustached parakeet. A custom made travel box was made by Lee and as usual courier arranged.
Birds arrived on time and in excellent condition.
As for stating the amazon had something special considering it was semi tame, Lee hit the nail on the head. Amazon is a tad nervous, but took to clicker training straight away, he will do a small warning peck barely touching you, but has never bitten anybody. He does his step ups and loves watching parrots on YouTube, either on his stand or on top of tv, starring down. He is an amazing bird..!!
I totally trust and respect Lee Chapman and It's a bird thing. I've had 3 perfect transactions, 5 wonderful health birds. Excellent communication. Thank you Lee. It's a good job we don't live closer too each other or I'd be buying a bird on a monthly basis.

Having just purchased 5 Gouldian finches from Lee, I wanted to share my experience. With living in the North East of Scotland it’s very difficult to locate and purchase finches without a 5 hour drive. I googled and found that Lee offered a delivery service using independent bird couriers. I’ve never heard of such a service and was somewhat sceptical but I must say that Lees actions have surpassed all the sceptics out there. Everything flowed well and comms from the couriers on delivery time was spot on.
If you are thinking of buying from Lee but have doubts, please don’t as he is a genuine seller who delivers as promised.
Will recommend and use again.

Lee at the It’s a Bird Thing was recommended to me by a friend who had previously bought an ultra tame and hand reared sun conour. I bought a Illiger Macaw which was couriered and arrived yesterday. Over the moon with the bird who is a lovely tame baby. Very very sweet and in gorgeous condition. Arrived in a small carrier cage and was a decent price. Highly recommend this business and the parrots they supply. Pleasure dealing with Lee from start to finish.
