I have given them 5 stars for the time they took from start to settlement - 4 weeks! Yes 4 weeks. Professional at all times, using their experience and knowledge to achieve an outcome I felt was justified. Their expertise helped to reduce my stress levels considerably due to the effective and efficient manner they dealt with things - superb. What more can I say!

I recently used Hunter Lawyers to represent me in a case against my former employers.

I decided to use a professional company to represent me on the basis that I would pay more to get the job done as I was using better solicitors.

I had been given high expectations from the start leading right up to the ADR hearing. I had asked the Solicitor throughout the case what he thought of my case and he said it was strong. I had provided written evidence and also had a witness.

When we got to the ADR hearing it was a total disaster! The defence offered a very low amount to settle they said my DSAR request had cost them a lot of money and could only afford a low amount. My solicitor had told me to request the DSAR this has cost me money. Both sides couldn’t agree a settlement so the court official told both sides how he thought the case would go in a tribunal. The court official ONLY looked at the defence’s written statement to base his decision which I had previously spent time completely exposing with evidence.
The court official was basing his outcome on the wrong information. I was furious as he didn’t even look at mine. How can you make such an important decision without looking at both parties evidence?

Anyway my solicitor who was present at the ADR hearing knew my case inside out as he put the case together. At this point the court official should have been made aware from either the solicitor or the barrister that he is basing his decision on incorrect information.

For example the court official said the defence only made one none reasonable adjustment when in fact there were at least three so why didn’t the solicitor or barrister tell the court official this and tell him what they were after all the ADR is about negotiating and putting your strong case forward.

Instead I was left with a weak negotiating position and barely scraped my legal costs back.

How could this possibly happen I had a barrister and a solicitor the defence didn’t even have a solicitor.

I would have done a better job representing myself at least I would have challenged the court official and argued my case.

After the ADR I was completely broken.

My solicitor phoned me later on that day I was not happy. He started making excuses such as the court are getting through a backlog ect and making me feel like getting my money back was a good result.

With hindsight I regret using Hunter Lawyers and would not recommend them.

I would have got more money just handing in my notice.

Hunter lawyer’s comments to my review are incorrect my complaint is about the solicitor from Hunter Lawyers not doing his job probably and being unprofessional along with the barrister. The Law society will look at facts and evidence.

Excellent advice and support which resulted in the best outcome for an employment situation. Of five Employment Law specialist I approached and three I met Jeff Kong at Hunter Law was the most knowledgeable and suggested the most convincing strategy. I believed I had a good advocate negotiating on my behalf. Which proved to be correct. Highly recommended.
