I bought a £299 white/yellow gold from the Leeds City Centre branch in 2024 and after a few weeks the clasp snapped. Took it back to the shop with proof of payment but was told that I had snapped the chain. I had not. I do not sleep in the chain and am very careful. Said I could not have a refund or another chain, so I had to pay £45 for a repair, although I was told initially that I might have to pay up to £100, as the chain was white & yellow gold. I was told the repair was guaranteed for a year. I have had the repaired chain for 9 months and it has once again snapped. Took it back with the repair receipt and was told that it was not covered by guarantee, as apparently it was the other side of the clasp. I have had to pay a further £48.50 for a new repair. This chain is not fit for purpose. I would avoid this store at all costs. The Manager said that I had snapped the chain on two occasions which is incorrect. Very rude. Basically calling me a liar. If I could give it zero stars I would. Be very careful buying anything from H. Samuel, as this chain is certainly substandard quality. I would expect better from a store where people buy keepsakes and things for special/memorable occasions.

Went in to the Leeds store to buy a replacement gold chain for a necklace of mine, Haleema could not have been more helpful and found the perfect one. I really appreciated her taking the time, thanks Haleema!
I have always liked to visit the shop in Leeds. I bought my wedding bands and engagement ring at the shop and recently when visiting White Rose Centre was met with friendly customer advisers who have pitched well.
They gave me very good discount so for me it’s really good

Izzy was amazing from the very start putting me at ease, listened to my exact needs with nothing blingy, too big and simple, picked several out with different price ranges, explained the differences so well and very kindly phoned me when the ring was collected.
I did visit other places to compare rings / prices which the service provided did not compare at all with how amazing Izzy did everything!

Well what a waste of my time! I purchased a necklace from HSamuel which at the time of purchasing in (2019) was advertised as 9ct gold and the store assistant also confirmed this. Recently it broke so I bought it into an independent jeweller who confirmed that as it is not solid gold but bonded over silver, so gold plated and due to this it cannot be repaired. What!!!! Yes I spent £400 on gold plated, this is illegal and is daylight robbery. I went into their store and spoke with manager Dawn who tried to convince me that it is gold I told Dawn it has just been inspected and it was not and that it has been miss sold. I uploaded a review on here and HSamuel reached out to my review asking me to bring my necklace to their leeds store for it to be looked at, so I followed their instructions. I then receive a call for them to tell me it is not broken resulting from a manufacturing error so there is nothing they can do. Have you not read my complaint, WHY!!!! have you completely wasted my time. If the necklace was gold which is what it was sold as I would have been able to get it repaired. As it is not gold it can not be repaired this is my complaint I have been sold an item falsely advertised as 9ct gold. When consumers buy jewellery from your stores we place our faith in your staff to be honest and to sell genuine items. We do not know what bonded means especially when it has 9ct stamped on the necklace. This is diabolical customer service and a follow up investigation. Reader - If you want to purchase gold don’t step a foot into this shop as you will be miss-sold items as gold when they are not. I will let all of my friends and family know what has happened including online followers. Thank you HSamuel for taking my money and wasting my time.

Ella in the Leeds store was fantastic as went it to get a new wedding band for myself and had no idea what I wanted and she found me the perfect ring that I never would of looked at myself. She found a chain and a wedding band for my husband and nothing was too much trouble and she is a credit to the company.
I was shopping in the Leeds branch on Saturday. I had a terrible experience. I had chosen a couple of pairs of ear rings as small gifts for my granddaughters Xmas. Just after paying I realised when seeing the assistant struggling to close one of the earrings that that pair would not be suitable for they had not yet been wrapped or anything. I asked to change them for another pair. Having selected them the assistant had to get a manager to authorise the exchange. The woman who came was adamant that they wouldn’t exchange because I had already paid. I tried to explain but she was having none of it we continued to argue the pint until a young male member is staff intervened saying that the policy did not apply as I had never left the shop. The whole experience however has left a very bad taste. I wish i could just send both pairs back to you
Just want to update my review after having a response from H Samual Customer Care Team. I was very pleased with their response, and they confirmed that the assistant had been wrong not to let me change the earrings when i was still in the shop. They have taken the matter seriously which has made me feel much better about the whole experience. They will be arranging further training to ensure all staff understand their policies.

In a nut shell: I bought a faulty watch but H Samuel refuses to fix or refund:
I bought a watch in April. It took some time to realize that it's not showing the right time. I returned it to the shop (Leeds) and they sent it to manufacturer. It took them *more then a month* to give me back the watch and say that the manufacturer checked and it is fine. However, a couple of days later it was obvious that the watch is still not showing the correct time. Back in the shop they told me they can't refund me because "The company policy" is not to refund if the manufacturer confirmed the watch is working fine. "It's not that they don't believe me, but this is the company policy". Very frustrating. They were kind enough to give me voucher which I have no use for. My assumption that brick and mortar shops are more reliable then online has not proved to be correct...

I visited the Leeds,briggate store. I was shopping for an engagement ring with my partner and was served by Ella. What a lovely,patient and knowledgeable young lady. I had no idea what kind of ring I wanted and she showed me all the different styles and stones.Through Ella’s patience and determination I found my perfect ring. I actually burst into tears when I put it on,I absolutely love it. A big thankyou to Ella for your outstanding customer service,you really are a credit to your store and company.

I bought ''9ct Yellow Gold & Cubic Zirconia Open Circle Stud Earrings'' at the beginning of the year. The quality of the earrings is shocking. I had three gems gone on one earring and two on the other one, and one of the earring split yesterday, and I can't wear them anymore. Very disappointed.
