I went in with my bridesmaid to look at wedding rings. We were approached by a lovely young lady who took out the display style I was interested in. The senior staff member there took the rings back and was quite rude to her coworker. It is not appropriate to put down other staff members in front of potential customers. I then mentioned we were looking for a titanium ring for my partner as he works with his hands outdoors. The young lady continued to help us politely while having just been embarrassed by her coworker. The other lady then snapped quite loudly at us and said "we don't do titanium for ladies". She clearly hadn't been listening when I said it was for my partner. This really took away from my experience and made me lose my excitement. Suffice to say I felt very uncomfortable and unwelcome. We would have purchased a particular ring there. But decided to buy from Chrisholm Hunter that day instead. 5 stars for the lovely young lady. Her colleague not so much.

Great service today from Denise who was able to help reshape my late grandfathers wedding ring. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the store to others.

Went to Falkirk Howgate H Samuel for a colleagues leaving present. Janet the assistant was extremely helpful, lovely woman, nothing seemed a bother, clearly not just a job to her.

Shocking attitude to a sale online rather than in store, completely conflicting information every time and left feeling like H.Samuel have given me a big F*** YOU. Had an awful experience with this store. Bought an expensive engagement ring. Tried to look at it in store and they didn’t have it, said they would order one in for me to look at however I was worried about missing the January sale so purchased online. Was never made aware that online prices would be matched in store. Staff were extremely rude when I went in to collect the ring and had clearly been b*tching about me as I was greeted in the store with an “oh you’re the one!” With regard to the online purchase. I was then informed of their policy for exchange if the ring was the wrong size but told not to worry too much about the exact rule of number of days cause here in the store they take care of you. Picked up the ring on the 29/1, proposed 6/2 and unfortunately my fiancés dad passed away unexpectedly on the 14/2 due to this we did not have time to get into store to discuss exchange but I felt it was ok as they “take care of their customers in store” we got into the store on the 3rd of March missing the 30 day exchange by only 3 days to be told that all they could do is resize the ring which upon purchase I was advised not to do with it being platinum. The sales advisor told us that the ring was an R and we needed a Q but when I checked my emails a Q was what I ordered. We then returned to the store today to be told that the ring I purchased was size Q and we needed an O so very inconsistent information. Told again to resize but then also told to contact customer service. Customer service confirmed that we could not resize that style of ring more than 1 up or down as it would compromise the ring based on the style which is different to what we had JUST been told in the store. So at this point here we are with a ring that’s the wrong size. Can’t be resized and won’t be exchanged and it was not a cheap ring I tell you that. My partner purchased my engagement ring at the end of January this year during a sale, he originally went in store unfortunately they did not have the ring however offered to order this in store for him to view however the online sale ended on Tuesday and the store never said they could match this offer in store so he order online to the store. He did have it exchanged for a smaller size however when he went into the store the staff all made comments about how he purchased this online and the original consultant had clearly been b**ching about him as when he went in to collect the smaller ring he was greeting with ‘aw so your the one that went online’ he was then told by an older lady with dark hair he had 30 days if the ring is too big but don’t worry too much about the 30 days and they dont recommend resizing as it’s platinum . We got engaged on the 6th feb then unfortunately my father passed on the 14th so didn’t have time to go in to get it exchanged. Fast forward to the 3rd March we went looking at wedding bands and asked about the ring sizing. We were told that is was a size R and we could get it resized (conflicting information) and we just had to bring in the purchase information. We went back in today to ask about the resizing as after finding the receipt and emails it was a Q we order and were confused. The consultant today said it is a Q however I need to 2 sizes smaller and DOES NOT recommend resizing. We contacted customer services who has advised as there is shoulder diamonds it is unable to be resized 2 sizes smaller and as I’ve wore the ring cannot exchange it even though this information was not told to my partner at time of purchase and was told not to worry. The service has been shocking by both the Falkirk store and customer service. After spending a decent amount of money on the ring it’s unwearable.

Bought a Chamilia charm bracelet with the insurance sold by Samuel for my wife's Christmas...it fell off her wrist a day or so after she got it...went back to the Falkirk shop where they "adjusted" the catch and handed it back... a few days after this it fell off again....then a further three times..
luckily the bracelet was caught before it got lost...took it back with the receipt only to be told very abruptly that there was nothing wrong with it and they would not do anything further... this was not a cheap purchase...however, I will be taking this up with my card issuer as a part of my consumer rights, will never buy from this questionable jeweller again (despite having bought many things over the years when they were a trusted shop) and have been forced to buy a safety chain to fit to the bracelet.... shockingly bad customer service....!!!! Almost as bad as Ratners back years ago...at least Ratner admitted selling "crap" as he put it!!

The shop itself was sparkly and nice, with a good selection. However, I am giving the Falkirk shop 1 star because of the staff. We were in for an item that we saw in the window - a gift for our grandchild's third birthday. When the saleslady found the appropriate box, she had difficulty fitting the item into it, breaking the styrofoam moulding in half. She did not apologise for this, even though she knew it was a gift. So we were left with a gift that looked like we bought it in a charity shop. Very poor service!

As usual courteous welcome from girl that served us. We got everything that we required.

The ladies in the shop were both very nice and helpful they couldn't have done anymore for me.

I received friendly service from a knowledgeable member of staff, when choosing a suitable watch as a gift for my partner's 70th birthday. It was a relief not to feel pressured or rushed into making a decision and I was able to ask for assistance when I felt I needed it. I would happily recommend H.Samuel to friends and family.

The sales assistant was most helpful in showing me the various photo frames for a Confirmation gift, the process of ordering was easy and the foto frame was delivered to store quickly. The sales team are very friendly and efficient. Sincere thanks!
