I purchased a wedding and engagement ring set from this jeweller, expecting it to last. Unfortunately, after around three years, a diamond fell out of the wedding band. Given that this section sits underneath the engagement ring, it’s not exposed to knocks or daily wear in the same way, so this was surprising.

I paid over £100 to have the stone replaced, only for another diamond to fall out less than a year later. Because it was a different stone, I was told this would not be covered and I would need to pay again.

The ring was sent away for inspection and I was told there is “nothing wrong” with it. However, in my view, losing two stones in such a short period suggests an issue with quality or setting.

I’m very disappointed with both the durability of the ring and the aftercare service. Based on this experience, I would not purchase from this jeweller again.

Had an amazing experience dealing with Jen this week in Colchester store

My fiance and I went to the Colchester store a few weeks ago looking for wedding bands where we were helped by Becca. She was really knowledgeable and we didn’t feel rushed, even though we spent some time in the store. For my ring, I had found two I liked but needed a customisation to have the curve of one with the detail of the other, along with the gold carat that matched my engagement ring. Becca opened a live chat with the workshop and was able to give us a quote for this really quickly. We also found a really lovely band for my Fiance with Becca’s help. We wanted time to think about our options so Becca wrote all the details down for us so we could come back at a later date and buy if we wanted, which we did today. We are really happy with our purchase and can’t wait to wear them! Thank you Becca and the team who made the experience really enjoyable and easy.

Went to the store in Colchester, was looking for a watch for myself, store was well laid out, clean and well staffed, I was left long enough to browse and then a staff member came over to help. She answered my questions and adjusted the watch twice for me, was very polite and friendly.
I am very pleased with my purchase and the service thay I received, thanks to Piper for excellent customer service. Will definitely go back.

We went into H Samuel’s branch in Colchester today as my fiancée wanted to get some jewellery cleaned. We were served by Oliver who looked after us so well. A credit to the organisation.

Went in store with limited knowledge on an engagement ring. The staff were extremely helpful in assessing all options within my price budget particularly a friendly chap called Joe.
He and his colleagues helped me confirm the ring size from comparison companies alongside picking the perfect ring. The delivery was speedy and received a text on the day to confirm delivery times.
Overall a friendly and helpful team within the branch who takes all queries and aspects into consideration to ensure you are purchasing that right gift.

I visited my local Colchester store today as sadly my engagement lost a stone and this was the second time this had happened with this ring, I was very upset and the young lady that served us couldn’t have been more helpful & understanding.
I was provided a replacement and was very impressed with the high standard of customer service.
Sadly I didn’t catch the name of the lady who assisted us but I think she was the manager and she was fab, highly recommend & will be returning for my future purchases.

I lost the Tanzanite stone from my ring which was purchased for me from H Samuel. The ring is still for sale in their shops for £236. The quote I got to repair my ring was £337!!!!. Absolutely ridiculous. Grossly overcharging and not interested in the sentimental value, which is why I wanted it repaired. Disgusted. UPDATE after contacting H Samuel who promised to look into this, I have waited 4 days for a “same day” call back from Colchester. They have offered me 50%reduction in the repair cost so I’d still have to pay £186 for a small semi precious stone to be mounted. I have had a quote for £60 elsewhere. Don’t use this shop!!!

The lady was lovely who helped us pick our weddings bands. We weren’t after anything fancy or expensive and she advised on what would suit my Nan's engagement ring best size-wise.

Always go here for my jewellery! My brother got a gorgeous engagement rings for him and his fiancé. Staff are super chill, easy to talk to, very good at recommending products and helping indecisive customers like me.

Staff were so lovely helpful and obliging. I took a bracelet back as it was being offered at 10% cheaper in another store. They were happy to honour that. When they discovered the bracelet was in the sale they refunded the difference. I couldn’t have asked for ether service. The bracelet itself is a lovely piece of jewellery. Thank you I would definitely shop there again.

Used the online service due to the shop being closed in lockdown, the staff on the live chat was very helpful, easy transaction and fast delivery. Very happy customer thank you.

Went into Colchester branch to buy a necklace for her granddaughter. No probs. Got home got it out the bag & found that the box the assistant had put it in was falling apart. The base was just about hanging on . Clearly they would of seen this, but obviously didn't care. Maybe because she was in a wheelchair thought it doesn't matter. Not impressed.

Went in store to pick up my watch and got greeted bu two lovely ladies although busy with other things they ensured that my visit was the best

Staff were really friendly and helpful, they offered help, looked for and found the item I had seen online straight away. Only downside was having to wait a little while to get in because it was a Saturday and busy, but I'm glad they've got covid safety measures in place, e.g. limited number of people and one way system.
