Not bought a CD from a shop for years! Are they even called CDs now? Anyway, a knowledgeable young guy guided me through the process of ordering an out of stock, ‘niche’ CD without making me feel patronised or ancient. Delivered to store promptly, free of charge, efficient text notification and simple pick up process. Could not have been easier! Thank you HMV Newcastle.

The branch didn't have it in stock, so I had to order it.
Over the weeks leading up to when I ordered it in store, I was checking the bluray section, and was unable to see it. That spurred me on to see if it was available to order, which it was. I have still to watch it.

OK, but room for improvement.
The click and collect process at HMV is cumbersome and irksome compared to Amazon or eBay.
At HMV I have to provide photo ID, which I don't have to at Amazon or eBay.
At HMV every time I collect something I have to laboriously punch in my email address on a computer screen, so a receipt can be sent to me, even though you must already have my email address because that is how you notify me that an item is ready for collection.
Also, once posted it seems to take a long time for an item to arrive at the store for collection.
Apart from that everything was fine.

A good and smooth order experience…
A good and smooth order experience right up to the last moment when the sales assistant could not find my reserved parcel because of a labelling issue. However, that was dealt with quickly, and I am enjoying my new Switch 2.
