I booked my car into HIQ tyres unit 1 maskew avenue Peterborough on the 15/8/26. I requested a major service & a premium oil change. I dropped my car off at 08.20 & I collected it at 11.08. I only received a sales invoice no check sheet or any paperwork to say what parts had been replaced or what oil was used. After calling the garage I received a check sheet for a full service not a major service after a 2 hour wait. I was told that the wrong paperwork had been filled in & that they had to fill in another check sheet.Clearly the paperwork hadn’t been done so they falsified a check sheet which was the wrong one anyway. That meant my car hadn’t been looked at properly. The wheels on my car hadn’t been removed to check the brakes. On the check sheet it says drums ok. They didn’t even check the brakes system inside. There is multiple work that hadn’t been done when I paid for a major service & a premium oil change I expected that work to be done on my car & it clear that it wasn’t.

I was really surprised at the level of service I received from this company in Peterborough.
From the moment I entered the office and was greeted by Geoff, I could not believe the the way I was professionally treated. I had to screws in my rear 911 tyres and they were removed with great care by the staff.
In fact I had to revisit 10 days later as I had another screw in a rear tyre and this time greeted by Mark who was also very caring. I will return as this was a great experience. I must say the staff were extremely excellent too. at one point 4 guys were working on my car. Thank You

Superb experience, Geoff was great the whole way through. He explained all issues in detail and couldn't do enough to facilitate a re-test, with great communication throughout. Would fully recommend.

I strongly advise everyone to avoid this garage. I thought a simple oil and filter service was impossible to mess up, but this place proved me wrong in the worst way possible.
During the service, they managed to break my fuel filter housing. They didn't even call to tell me; I only found out because I called them after waiting 4 hours for a simple oil change. They claimed they broke the part and were ordering a new one to replace it. When I picked up the car, they assured me everything was fixed and replaced.
The reality was much worse. After the weekend, my car broke down in the middle of the road on my way home from work. I had it towed to a different, professional workshop. When they took it apart, they discovered that the garage never replaced the part—they tried to fix the broken fuel housing using Super Glue.
This is not just unprofessional; it is incredibly dangerous. Using glue on a pressurized fuel system is life-threatening.
To make matters worse, this wasn't my first bad experience here. A year ago, they incorrectly connected a turbo hose, which almost led me to pay for a full turbo replacement.
If they can't even handle a basic oil change without breaking parts and lying about "fixing" them with glue, I hate to think what they would do with a serious repair. STAY AWAY for your own safety and your wallet.

I had a very disappointing experience with HiQ garage and would strongly advise others to be cautious.

I had my last service and MOT with them. During a recent service elsewhere, the mechanic asked who had last serviced the vehicle and I told them it was HiQ - I discovered that the oil filter housing had been overtightened to such an extent by HiQ mechanics, that it was completely rounded off. It couldn’t be removed using normal methods and had to be forcibly broken off just to gain access. This resulted in additional, entirely avoidable costs that I had to cover myself.

To make matters worse, I also have concerns about the MOT carried out. It appears that incorrect or wrongful diagnostics were added, with HiQ suggesting the control arm needed replacing - when the issue was with the roll bar link, a much cheaper problem to fix. This is particularly worrying when you rely on a garage to provide accurate and trustworthy assessments.

Overall, the workmanship fell well below an acceptable standard, and the combination of poor mechanical handling and questionable diagnostics has left me with little confidence in their service.

I would not recommend based on this experience.

Maskew Avenue Mohammad told my 17yr old his problem was rocker cover gasket, he said he will do it off books (at work and no receipts) £270 he took from a 17yr old and next day same problem, now the car won’t move.
No wonder the cowboy sent my son away and was done in an hour. Horrible treatment, scammers and should be ashamed at employing such people.

Do not go in there they are scam and ripping people off. I made online booking for a major car service £260.22 instead get full service only and no receipt or paper work to show what has been done when I asked the guy called Rob said they run out of paper.

I am writing to warn others about my shocking experience with Hi-Q Tyres in Peterborough (Maskew Avenue). What was supposed to be a straightforward warranty repair turned into a nightmare of lies, delays, and unprofessional behavior that has left me furious.

From the very beginning, the staff assured me that my engine mount repair would be fully covered under my RAC Platinum Warranty. Trusting their word, I left my car with them, only to be met with weeks of excuses and complete lack of communication. Every time I called for an update, there was a new story – first they claimed to have ordered the wrong part, then they said only the bottom mount needed replacing, and later they insisted the top mounts were the real issue. Each visit required me to take time off work, arrange alternative transport, and waste fuel, only to be told to come back again.

The final straw came when I arrived for my scheduled repair, only to be told the part hadn’t arrived. An hour after dropping my car off, they called to say they couldn’t proceed with the warranty repair because they "weren’t sure" the engine mount was the issue and claimed they could "get in trouble" with the warranty company. They then had the audacity to demand I pay for the parts and labour myself.

Suspicious, I contacted RAC directly, and to my disbelief, they confirmed that Hi-Q Tyres had never even contacted them about my claim. There was no record of any communication, no assessment request, nothing. When I returned to collect my car, I overheard other customers at the reception desk complaining about the exact same issue – their warranty claims had also been ignored, with no contact made between Hi-Q and their warranty providers.

This is not just poor service – it’s a deliberate scam. They lied about warranty coverage, strung me along for weeks, and then tried to pressure me into paying for repairs that should have been covered. The fact that multiple customers were experiencing the same problem proves this is a systematic issue, not a one-off mistake.

I urge anyone considering using Hi-Q Tyres in Peterborough to think twice, especially if you’re relying on warranty work. Verify everything directly with your warranty provider before trusting this garage. I will be reporting this to Trading Standards and RAC’s fraud team, and I encourage others who have been misled to do the same.

This business operates on deception and deserves to be held accountable. Do not make the same mistake I did. Stay away.

this is the second time we have been here, could not fault the courtesy, helpfulness and prompt attention from all the team, without exception. A pleasure to be served.

Had an issue with a leaky tyre valve which was diagnosed quickly then seen to once we sourced a new tyre pressure sensor from a dealership. It was fitted for us at no charge, without an appointment and within 90minutes. Thanks team.

Thanks to all the staff for their commitment in getting what should been a straightforward valve and tyre change into an absolute nightmare for them, due to a problem when the previous tyres had been fitted.
The costs were extremely reasonable, considering all the extra work which was entailed.

Booked in for a new tyre on their website. Rang to confirm a time on the day of the appointment only to be told it wasn’t in stock. I said it was shown as in stock on the website to which the response was … “yeah, I don’t know why it does that…” Very poor service. Would have been my first time using HiQ but will be avoiding them in future.

Update: the copy and paste response below from HiQ is comical. What’s to investigate? How about an apology and just sort yourselves out….
