I had a fantastic experience with HiQ Cardiff yesterday.

I got to my car on Sloper Road to find I had a completely flat tyre with a sizeable piece of metal protruding I'd obviously driven over, I was at a complete loss at what to even do. Fair play to Lee and Justin they literally came to my rescue and managed to get my car over to HiQ as I was too nervous to try to drive it. In the space of half an hour they got my car, put on my space saver spare tyre so I'd be able to get home and ordered a tyre for the next day. I went back today and they fitted my tyre. They went above and beyond for me. Thanks guys!

Tried this HiQ on Penarth Rd today, I had a nail in a front tyre so needed a replacement.
I was told that they couldn’t help me until next week????
Plenty of staff were in the building and plenty of tyres on display?
So went to Bathwick tyres on Cowbridge Rd, all done within 45min.
Only went to HiQ because I live local so I guess I won’t be using them in future, shame!

Needed 4 tyres for my Juke and rang around a few different garages to see who was the cheapest. Got a price over the phone that I was happy with and using a brand of tyre that I know. The man on the phone had a good telephone manner and was helpful. Dropped my car off and had a lovely welcome at reception and reception was really nice for a garage. They contacted me when my car was ready and payment was easy. I would highly recommend and definitely return.

Great to see such high levels of service in this sector. Very refreshing and Dan also helped me with an issue I had with a threaded wheel nut which was an added bonus for me.

I booked the car in to have 2 rear wheel bearings changed on a Daihatsu Terios J2 4X4.
I was told that the work would take approx 3hrs to complete. I quickly realised that I had made an error in my choice of garage, I could see from the reception waiting area that the person working on my car was struggling to get the brake drums off. This should be easy work for HiQ Tyres and Autocare. After what seemed to be around an hour the Tech asked for assistance in removing the drums. These drums were not seized on, I was told that there are new brake drum linings installed that indicated that they must have been installed just prior to me purchasing the car last July.
After the marathon task of getting the drums off the tech proceeded to remove the Half Shaft from the offside of the vehicle, taking his hammer, numerous blows were being made to the inner flange of the hub to remove the Half Shaft from the rear axle, again, after a period of time without success and repeated blows assistance was again asked for. The Tech then popped next door to a sister company and returned with a sliding hammer that should have been used at the start and after a few minuets more the Half Shaft was out. This Tech obviously well trained proceeded to remove the worn bearing from the Half Shaft with a hammer and Chisel, twenty minuets later after repeated blows to this bearing I was approached by the manager informing me that they are unable to replace the bearing as they do not have the correct tools to get the bearing off to do the job. They told me they were going to refit the Half Shaft with its now hammered to death bearing back into the axle from where it came !!!
I must admit I didn't take it well, I was horrified that they even suggested to refit this now badly damaged bearing and assume it would be safe for me to drive the car 30 plus miles of Motorway home with this seriously abused bearing.
Now I'm not a mechanic, but there is no way I replied I am taking this vehicle from here with that bearing reinstall.
Why would a garage take on work that they have no knowledge of doing let alone not having the tools to do it with. The bearing was ground off instead of being pulled off and needless to say a lesson learned by myself. I have the car booked in with another garage that will complete the job and I will also ask them to check the work carried out as obviously these are not trained mechanics. I want HiQ Tyres and Autocare to contact me

Booked my car in for an MOT on 31st Dec 2021. I was called 4 hours later to say that the car had passed the MOT but... TWO of my tyres had punctures due to nails in the tyres (My car had been fine four weeks up to the date of the MOT - 31st Dec, and had not left my drive since the 23rd December 2021, plus I had driven fine to the HiQ centre on Penarth Road and did not hear any clicking due to a bolt in my tyre). Cameron did not offer replacement of these tyres at this point. When I collected my car, I could see a bolt in my front tyre and was told there was a nail in the rear tyre. Cameron did not offer to replace my tyres nor suggest that due to safety reasons, I should get my tyres replaced. As soon as I paid for my MOT and drove out of HiQ, my two tyres went flat, Tyre pressure lights flashed immediately. Luckily, I was able to drive to National Tyres on Penarth Road, a very short distance away, who changed my tyres efficiently within 30 minutes at a great price. Why would HiQ allow a customer to leave the site with two tyres with punctures and not offer to replace them or offer some safety advice is a real concern. How did I manage to drive the car with no issues prior to the MOT but find that the tyres went flat immediately after leaving HiQ in Cardiff? I would not trust HiQ with either of my cars again and will be advising my friends and family who use HiQ against trusting such a company too.

I visited HiQ at short notice today after having battery problems and as always they have sorted out my problem, and checked the car over for me. I was worried I might need a new battery but this was not the case, just needed a charge up by giving the car a run, so no unexpected cost for me. Excellent, polite and professional service, as usual. Thank you very much.

I have been using this depot for the last 20 years at least ( formerly as Rapid Fit ). This fact should speak volumes. The staff are always courteous and friendly and I'm on first name terms with virtually all of them.Their pricing is very competetive and the service is excellent. They have never tried to sell me anything I didn't want and the parts fitted are of the highest standard.

Fantastic service from Cory and mechanic Ian following tyre emergency and no prior appointment. Nothing too much trouble to sort me out even just before closing time. Highly recommend.

Easiest tyre change ever, ordered on line , tyres ready when I called to say I’d be in. Cory on the desk and Mark who fitted my tyres , couldn’t have been more efficient if they’d tried. Top class service and would definitely recommend to friends . So nice to get such personal service these days!!

Whilst travelling on new years eve the handbrake become stuck on. Great service from Cory and team, friendly accomoondating and helpful. Couldn't fault them and the got us out of jam - Thanks
