Our car rental on Maui went very smoothly!
Our car rental on Maui went very smoothly! It was nice to have choice of cars to select from, although there were very few cars left by the time we got there. The Chevy Blazer was a decent SUV, but not one that I would ever own. The whole process was very smooth.

mis-charged and NO customer service follow up
got charged for something that I did NOT agree to and have not been able to get anyone in customer service to even acknowledge my email
person who checked me out was someone I never saw before (and I rent from the same location almost weekly) and you could tell he had no clue what he was doing and now I am facing the consequences…
with that said, as a President Circle member (remember I rent almost weekly from the same location) I would hope someone would acknowledge my email at the very least

Automated Camera Scan Scam
AI automated scan of car exterior reported a small <1" ding as a $500 dent. Customer service escalated the issue. Borderline ridiculous Hertz decided to go this route.

The car was filty dirty
The car was filty dirty, windows looked as if they hadn't been cleaned in weeks.
Used chop sticks in the passenger door.
Back passenger side seat, seat belt was broken. Check oil light came on.
On top of that we called, to say we were bringing the car back 1 full day early . She said it wouldn't be a problem. That they would credit us a full day. Instead we were charged $83 extra dollars for random charges.
Hertz is the only rental car we use, but after this it's making us feel there are better options out there.
