The whole quality of the website is going downhill FAST !!!
Firstly putting an advert up is ‘clunky’ and frustrating.
The software edits the advert and categories as it see’s fit and won’t let you edit it afterwards.
It wouldn’t accept ‘firearm’ in the licence requirement box,as well as not allowing me to place a full heading on the title.
Whilst I’m fully aware that the used gun market is through the floor at the moment.
However I was more than disappointed that despite placing two guns on here at significantly less than market value,the only responses I received were from two blatant scammers !!!!

Sold my air rifle within a day of advertising and had another three enquiries the next day. Got £80 more than a dealer offered me.

Well we had 3 x propective buyers from you for my shotgun and only had scammers all 3 times the vetting system needs to be upgraded i think they seem to just trying to get weapons for something.

Not expensive and worked for me. Many thanks. Posting the gun sold was an experience but my local gun dealer was really helpful. Got paid and all went well.

Scam messages
I advertised my gun with guntrader and all I recieved were scam messages asking me to send the gun in exchange for a cheque. I do not recommend this site for selling. Not worth the cost.

I recently posted an advert on Guntrader, and frankly, it was a waste of time and money. I had high hopes for a quick sale, but the reality was far from it.
The Issues:
Zero Genuine Interest: Not a single legitimate buyer reached out. Every single person who responded to my advert was a blatant scammer.
Security Concerns: I spent more time filtering through suspicious emails and "is this still available" phishing attempts than actually discussing the firearm.
No Sale: Despite the listing being active and priced competitively, the gun didn't sell.
It feels like the platform has become a playground for bad actors, and there doesn't seem to be enough verification or protection in place for private sellers. I won't be using this service again—I'd rather trade it into a local dealer than deal with the headache of another listing here.

Only had 2 enquiries
Only had 2 enquiries, first was a scammer from London, the second agreed to buy and would come tomorrow to pick it up, then messaged to say he wasn’t coming! So not a great result. Will try again somewhere else, or maybe just keep it.
The search section is not very good. You can’t serch a specific make/model of rifle. You can only search rifle type then have to scroll through pages of guns you are not interested in. I’m guessing most people looking know the make/model they are looking for!

I had my advert up for 1 month and in that time I was emailed 6 times from scammed, its a good job I know what to look out for. Could of easily fooled someone else with a dangerous outcome. I think guntrader should be doing extra to try stop this from happening

Thanks for your feedback. You can make changes to selected fields after posting an advert, including lowering the price, so you should still have some control after your listing goes live. If you’re unable to do this or it’s not working as expected, please give us a call so we can check your account and help resolve it.
We’re not aware of any broken gateways at present, but if you are experiencing errors when signing in or using the platform, please contact us directly so we can investigate and fix any issues as quickly as possible.

Firstly they took money out twice for the advert but did refund after a while. Then got two emails from blokes that were sending couriers to pick the gun up if I sold them it by sending bank transfer details. Yeah right. !

Absolute waste of time and money
Absolute waste of time and money! I received approximately 5 email enquiries all from Scammers offering to pay me by certified cheque and will not be using this platform in future! Also when I enquired to retrieve a previous advert which I placed 2 or 3 years ago on this website, I received a reply from Lisa at Guntrader telling me that the advert should be saved in my account. The advert clearly dropped off the system and this should have been retrieved for me. This website has clearly gone down hill since it has been taken over from the previous management.

Regarding your previous advert, listings created 2–3 years ago would have been stored on our old system. Since then, Guntrader has undergone a full website and platform update, and data from the previous system is not transferable or retrievable.
