From start to finish this was a great experience. The communication during the booking was fantastic. The guide arrived early and had my name on a placard so there was no confusion that morning in a busy hotel lobby. The tour itself was so much more than a whisky tasting. It was both a whisky education and a history of the country and its countryside. Mike, our tour guide was amazing. His knowledge of the area and ability to convey it in both an educational and entertaining manner were fantastic. It felt like we had a friend for the day. What a great experience he provided for us.

We booked Go Scotland for a 7-day, small group tour of Campbeltown and Islay, and it was the best decision we could have made. Our guide, Mike, was fantastic - friendly, informative, punctual, and truly invested in our experience. He offered some great suggestions to help us build our itinerary before the trip, and he incorporated a lot of great history and other sites in between our distillery hopping. Even better, he took all of the work out of the trip for us by managing the driving, ferry schedules, etc. We were able to relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery (and a lot of amazing whisky). If you're considering a visit to Islay, book with Go Scotland!

At short notice I contacted Go Scotland Tours to arrange a private tour of Edinburgh for international colleagues. I found the company to respond quickly and effectively and they were able to offer me the tour needed. The feedback I got from my colleagues was that the tour was exceptional. The guide was knowledgeable, friendly and funny.

Outstanding day with Mike! He is very personable and easy to get along with. Knowledgeable and sincere. We set off exactly on time and got a good bit of Edinburgh history on the way out of town; which was a bonus. As we travelled to Stirling castle and the Wallace monument, Mike got us up to speed on the history. My family and I are history buffs so we had the basic background of it. Mike explained so much more and with great detail. We learned a lot throughout the day. We invited Mike to join us for lunch and it was nice getting to know him and about his family. I highly recommend the Glenturret whiskey tour. Mike is very knowledgeable in whiskey and was a great prep for the tour. Overall, a wonderful experience for our family. Don’t pass up the opportunity to spend the day with Mike!

This is an amazing tour. It is not a scripted tour, which makes it authentic. While there are specific spots worth seeing, it seems that the guide has quite a bit of flexibility. The bus is very nice, and the hotel accommodations are simple but comfortable. Cris, our tour guide, was phenomenal. I have traveled globally and been on numerous tours. By far, Cris has been the best tour guide of them all. He has an incredible ability to "read" the group and provide a tour that makes everyone feel that the tour was tailored to them. His knowledge is impressive coupled with a great sense of humor. He was very thoughtful and considerate to some special needs that arose during the tour. Additionally, he is one of the best drivers I have ever seen and had the impressive ability to navigate the roads in the rain, provide information, and be attentive to the individual needs of the passengers. He was also a great ambassador for Scotland.

Mike was a great choice for our Wallace monument and Bannockburn tour. Great mix of history and interesting local facts along the way. The lunch recommendation at Birds and Bees was perfect. Mike even went back for my husband’s misplaced hat between sites. Thank you!

We do had a great time, everything happened just like we had set, on time, Mike was very comunicative, showing spots with history and enthusiasm. Drove safely and was always willing to help. we do recomenad!

Mike was a great tour guide! He catered the experience to us, and what we wanted to see and do. He was also very professional. Mike was very knowledgeable, and took us to places at times that weren’t crazy busy with other tourists. He used a microphone in the van while we were driving so everyone could hear very clearly what he was saying. It was the perfect tour! We highly recommended Go Scotland Tours!

Our guide was very knowledgeable. Thoroughly enjoyed our time at Rosslyn Chapel and Craigmillar Castle. Rosslyn Chapel was on my bucket list and it didn’t disappoint! And I hadn’t realized that I had seen Craigmillar Castle in the movie Outlaw King.

Mike was absolutely amazing, and I don’t say that lightly! We had some family sites that we wanted to visit, and he folded them in without a blink. I’m sure we missed some of the things that he would recommend (he’s genuinely an expert) but he accommodated us with no issues! We had Mike for 4 days, and he was always professional, kind, thoughtful and informative. The hotels he booked us in were clean and comfortable, and really deluxe for UK hotels. (I’ve stayed in some 2-star UK/European hotels. They are not up to American standards of comfort.)
Basically, Mike gave us the best 4-days of our 10 day trip, and we cannot recommend him enough !! We tipped £200, and it seems inadequate.

Where do I start. I loved everything about our tour! During the bus from point to point Mike provided detailed history about the area, and the people. We had so many fabulous things packed into each day. The hotels were wonderful! I honestly loved every second of our tour. The only thing that could have made it better would be if the day could be 36 hour days instantly of 24😂. To pack more in. I can’t wait to do another one. There is absolutely no way we could have planned this on our own. Plus if we had, we would have spent 4x what the tour cost. Mike is a travel experience magician!

Had a great private tour of 17 from Greenock to Edinburgh. All very punctual and timely. Our guide Joe Clifford was great!

We had an incredible day with Fiona visiting Lock Lomond and the Trossachs. Fiona was incredibly knowledgeable, funny, and warm. She adapted as we went to make sure we got what we wanted out of the day and she was generally just excellent company. I wold highly recommend working with her for any excursion in Scotland!

Our tour to Rosslyn Chapel was one of the best experiences we had on our entire two-week trip. Mike was an amazing guide and his knowledge of the history and fun facts of the area was incredibly valuable. We also stopped at Craigmillar Castle which was also a delight. We have taken many tours in our travels over the years but Mike made this one very special. I highly recommend Mike and his company for anyone looking for a tour in Scotland. It was an excellent experience all around.

Six destilleries in three days. Started with the basics on whiskey making and ended up with blending our own and tasting whiskey directly drawn from the cask. Stayed at a lovely B and B for two nights. And Stefan our driver, service minded, full of knowledge and was able to add a few extra stops on the way. We can highly recomend the speyside whiskey tour.

Micheal is a very knowledgeable historian, giving much insight as we toured the sites. He offered tips for our stay in Edinburgh. We also made a quick stop at a market so we could pick up a few essentials.

We visited Sterling Castle, saw the Highland Cows, Loch Lohman, Scottish Highlands, Ben Loman, Loch Ness. This was two different days.

Interesting stories, comfortable ride…the whole family said it was a highlight of our trip
