We visited the store as we have the bronze DofE coming up soon. One of the associates, David, helped us pick out walking boots, socks and a sleeping bag. He was incredibly knowledgeable and personable and made our visit much easier than anticipated. The store itself had everything we were looking for so it turned out to be a very productive visit.

Had good advice regarding purchasing a new tent. Staff were helpful, friendly and gave good advice. Even better got the item half-price with a go outdoors membership card. 2aq

Brilliant afternoon looking for helmets for the children.
Excellent service at lakeside Thurrock store by a gentleman called Charleston I believe.

My experience was great at go outdoors.
Very good for my fishing and bought some today as I was going to tills a male starf asked if he could check in side as some components were being missing .
Great even though they were all there It saved me alot of time to go back. He also mentioned to join as itbwill save me money in future which I intend on doing is going back to go outdoors

Thank you to Ethan who took the time to help my daughter find a correct fitting 65L rucksack for her petite back. We walked out happy customers with an Osprey womens small!

Staff were very helpful and knowledgeable. Nothing seemed to faze them.

Jessica at Lakeside brilliant, even though it was nearly closing time. She waited whilst our daughter tried on a few pairs of walking boots and was knowledgeable about different materials etc. Plus she found us a good 'price match' deal. Excellent customer service!

My pair of shoes bought six months ago had issues and the store was very helpful with the exchange and finding a good equivalent. Charlton was very knowledgeable and a quick thinker!

The service from both Kelly and Tina was excellent. Their assistance with deciding on my purchase was second to none. A great Go Outdoors store in Thurrock.

The level of customer service at Go Lakeside is quite appalling.
Having been looking to purchase a pair of hiking shoes for my daughter was completely ignored by staff.
Don't staff ever ask if you require help?
Obviously not even when you are demonstrating buying signals and it's more important for staff to chat amongst themselves.
So after a couple more families came in and were served before me, I questioned the staff member Adondis, who had walked past me several times why he had ignored me and his only response was that "He didn't appreciate the way I spoke to him"
No apologies, offer of help or advice given.
Quite shocking when you have money to spend but don't get treated like a valued customer.
Eventually a junior female member of staff got out a couple pairs of shoes but quickly disappeared again.
Eventually, I purchased one of the pairs but for a specialist shop not to actively engage in any level of customer service or offer any help and advice is shocking

Despite the coat being a bargain, it was returned to the store due to the presence of blood in one of the pockets.

Still shopping for my trek to Everest Base Camp so im always popping in buying bits of equipment.
Andonio (I think thats his name) is just an amazing staff member. He is always very helpful and on hand to answer any technical questions (I ask a lot as im not a regular hiker). He is very patient and provides the kind of assistance that should make the store proud of its employees. Ive stopped going to Decathlon (which was always my go to store) because of the level of support I receive from some of the staff members in this lakeside store.

I would have award 5 stars while i was shopping at Christmas. But, for not allowing purchases to have the hangers, and no gift wrapping and no bags! Not a very good service at this time year!!

Being completely new to camping my friend and I choose a tent online. We collected this from the Thurrock Store, Kelly and Harvey could not do enough for us, they answered all of our questions with high levels of specialist knowledge. Not only were they extremely knowledgeable they went above and beyond with their customer service. Nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely be back and would highly recommend the store and these individuals

Go Outdoors at Lakeside had all the items needed for my son's Duke of Edinburgh expedition. Great selection and great staff who assist where you need help.
