Rory was absolutely brilliant today when we went in for hiking boots for DofE. He was so knowledgable and helpful and made sure we got the correct discount. I couldn’t recommend him enough, really excellent service!!

Today we purchased a pair of walking boots, walking socks and a water bottle from the infamous Rory! We generally use the Liverpool branch of Go Outdoors, with it being by the larger of the 2 nearest to us but our group of school mums’ recommended we visit our Southport branch and speak with Rory - who had recently educated and subsequently convinced her equally stubborn teen re:Trainers aren’t suitable for a DofE expedition. It was a pleasure being served by him and my teen even managed a smile during the shopping expedition. This branch is lucky to have a team that recognises the value in employing people with bags of experience and allows their employees to spend time with the customers. We have also recommended Rory (and Go outdoors!) to those that haven’t yet had the pleasure of taking their teen out of their comfort zone of Hoka trainers and into the world of DofE kit. I have just been to the Southport store, served by Rory. I bought the exact same type of Peter Storm walking shoes that I bought about 4 years ago, brilliant and half the price of branded items. Rory was helpful and friendly.

Was made welcome, with friendly no pressure selling.

When I found what I was looking for, it was Lorna who served me, waited till I tried on the jacket, then wwbn decided to buy she led me through the different pricing options.

I'd never been into Go Outdoors before, but I may well look inn again

I purchased I pair of leather walking boots & a pair of socks. The gentleman that helped me peter, was excellent & very knowledgeable he was also very kind & helpful, he joined us into Go outdoors membership scheme which gave us a good discount along with my blue light card we couldn’t have been happier Thank You Peter.

We visited the Southport store to buy a pair of walking boots for my daughters Duke of Edinburgh expedition.
Rory was really helpful and knowledgeable about the fit and type of boots that would be right for this activity. We had a Duke of Edinburgh discount card which meant that the purchase was really good value for money.
Rory asked lots of questions to ensure that he had all of the information to advise us correctly on our purchase. He was so helpful I've told all the parents in my school what's app group to ask for him if they visit the store and we will be back in a few weeks to get his expertise on waterproofs!

We visited your Southport store on 27.2.25 and we were looking for warm coats for our up and coming adventure to Antarctica. Whilst looking confused, Megan from your store came over and shared her experience with us and patiently waited as we tried on all the coats Megan discussed with us. They ranged from the top of the range to a cheaper version and when we were happy with our choice Megan did the same over socks for our trip. We now feel confordent in our out door wear for the trip and getting cold will not be an option. Thank you Megan

Needed some very Good rain proof walking boots wasn’t sure to know what to look for, a young man who was working on the shop floor was very kind and helpfu he showed me where the boots were knew what I exactly needed also walking boot socks again he knew what I needed let me try them they fitted perfectly there was no hassle and he wasn’t pushy let me take my time so thank you Will have had a good hour walk with them at home no problems no need to return them if I pop in again it would be a pleasure to be served by you I highly recommend your sake technique could do with more people like you when having to go to certain shops .

I visited the Southport store today as I needed a new airbed. I had tried to order it online but did not know my membership number to get the best price. I was greeted at the till by Lorna who took me to the stock of airbeds. The one I wanted was not in the store so Lorna took me to the instore order screen. She soon found the one I wanted and completed the ordering process for me and talked me through the delivery options. She also gave me a replacement membership card for future use. It was good to be served by someone who cared about giving customer service.

Had great service and lots of good advice from James in the Bootle branch and then Ben in Southport who between them, fixed me up with easily the new tent I needed. Cannot thank them enough!

Fantastic service by Rory when purchasing a jacket. Very helpful and welcoming.

Greeted by Rory when I first walked in as I wanted to try for size a pair of walking shoes. He was extremely helpful and gave great advice on fittings. Very professional and knowledgeable, I would definitely return to this branch. While it isn’t the largest size wise, its staff are excellent.

Ben in the Southport branch was very helpful and obliging in exchanging a faulty product.
The online customer service was very responsive and helpful too and refered me to my local store who exchanged my coat.
