Shopfloor staff were very helpful and prompt. The store did not have the right size for me so staff explained how to order things in. The manager was then really helpful to ensure that the boots I'd ordered arrived in time for me to collect on my preferred day. And remembered me when I arrived in store.

Michelle served my husband and I. We were looking to replace our walking shoes. She was helpful, obviously understood the pros and cons of the stock and gave us great service.

Michelle was professional and gave good advice regards the boots I was looking at.

We needed extra sides for our Coleman gazebo not found in our local branch or online. We planned to visit the lakes so we called the Penrith store who, thanks to Zara, secured the items for us to pick up days later. She was so pleasant and helpful on the phone we knew she could be trusted to deliver. Picking up the items her colleagues confirmed that she is a force for good and great to work with.

No comms. No mail telling me the goods had come to the shop. I had to call to check. If I don't turn up asap, the goods are returned to the central unit. They had been in the shop for a week without my knowledge. Not impressed.

Michelle, who served me with Scarpa walking shoes, was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable, as she always has been in the past.

Tony helped us pick out a pair of boots, he made sure that we were happy with the ones we had chosen, told of lots of information about them and how to measure if they would be correct for hiking, he was very knowledgeable and a lovely guy to chat to. He made us feel very welcome. 5 stars for Tony! :)

We would like to thank MICHELLE,for her help in finding my wife a pair of walking boots on Saturday 29th August 2026 , She did settle on a pair of Peter Storm boots we joined the card scheme and got a hefty discount Thanking you Michelle.

I called in to the go outdoors at Penrith today to buy some new walking boots. Michelle served me, she was very friendly and helpful, as well as extremely knowledgable about the different brands of boots, eg how they tend to fit. I am very happy with my purchase.

Tony was very informative about what type of boots I was needing,took a lot of time and effort to make sure I had the correct fitting and proper boots definitely a credit to your store

I was on holiday from Liverpool and came looking for some walking boots and Ben and Tony were both so helpful and gave me great advice. I left with a fantastic pair which will get my through my half marathon trek! Thank you both!

Toni helped me with getting a pair of outdoor walking boots. Thank you for the advice and assistance in getting me waterproof when I picked up non waterproof 🫣🫣 lovely gent a pleasure to speak to.

Nice well laid out shop, seems to concentrate more on the clothing side, which seemed to take up half the shop. I was looking for a small air beam tent and a fisherman type campbed..the tent I eventually purchased elsewhere and the camp beds i couldn't find any there. The Outdoor display was quite messy, looked as if someone was using an inflatable mattress in one of the bigger tents and it was full of rubbish on the floor. Air beams on one tent obviously needed inflating or replacing as you couldn't get in it. Pools of water left inside tents inner groundsheet area had obviously been there for a while. Just appeared uncared for... Perhaps there's a staff shortage.

Bought the kettle in good faith, but on receipt it was so small, so didnt suit our requirements.

I returned the kettle to the store in Penrith as we wereon holiday in the area, the young lad was very polite and helpful and I have received my refund.

The assistant, Michelle was very helpful- she knew lots about the products I was interested in (walking boots, socks and boot care products) and provided advice without being too pushy or 'pressure selling'. She got the balance right in my opinion and was friendly.

Michelle was so informative and helpful today. I was looking to buy walking shoes. She explained everything about the footwear and how it should feel on the feet. She explained how I should care for them after use. An absolute credit to Penrith store. I would definitely shop again.
