I always come in and see Jenny for my work boots. She knows the most and gives the best advice over them. Always helps me out over what to do and what I need. Recommended many people to come over the years to see jenny for what they need.

Called in on the off chance they stocked a pair of Craghopper Classic Kiwi trousers in my size even though the GO website indicated otherwise. Jenny was most helpful and disappeared into their stock room to emerge with a pair of Craghoppers that was not only the right size but also in the desired colour. You don't get this level of attention in the main stores. Brilliant service thanks.

Assistant was very helpful.

I ordered an item online to have it delivered to my local store. It can't quickly and was kept up to date with the process. Whilst in the store, I asked to try on some walking shoes, the staff were attentive and informative. The shoes were just what I needed so a good day.

Jenny was exceptional in helping me to get the product I needed she is a great asset to your store here in Leek and as served me on several occasions.

I bought a pair of Scarpa Cyrus Mid Gortex Women’s Walking Boots from the small Leek Go Outdoors Outlet on 6.11.24. I bought locally to support local retail outlets and because if they became faulty I could return them to a real shop. The second time of wearing they leaked through the right boot after a good long walk through wet grass. After 3 goes at returning them over about 6 weeks, on 25.3.25 I was told they weren’t faulty and I couldn’t get an exchange or my money back. Also please note, you can only get money back in the first month, I believe they said.

After the first attempt at return, when they tested them in the back with either running or with the toe dipped into water I bought another pair of the same from an outdoors shop in Hathersage, because I want dry feet. I then thought to test the Go Outdoors boots at home – so right foot dipped in a jug of water for 30 mins and I could just start to feel the water coming in through a seam. I took them back to Go Outdoors again, was told they couldn’t test them wet and to dry them out and bring them back. Returned for a third time and they tested them again and I was told they weren’t faulty.

It's not the shop’s fault if the boot is faulty BUT – I was told “what protector do you use?” – erm, this is a GORTEX boot and I don’t expect it to leak after a week. Also that “all boots leak eventually” – I agree but I expect a good 2 or 3 years before the GORTEX membrane or the seam gives up, not a week.

So… £154.40 out of pocket plus the £170 or so I paid for the other pair. I advise – think twice before buying walking boots from Go Outdoors, the returns policy favours them not you. Also I did notice during the long process of attempted return that they are about £129 online… despite the alleged discount with Go Outdoors with the discount card you have to pay for annually…
