Ordered and collected from the nearest store next day, fantastic service and a great Paddle Board for our first one

Was helped by Macey and Dave who found me a tent perfect for what I needed great service

The guys really helped out when I couldn't find something they went and checked for me they were very polite and not pushy

Me and my friends had a great experience in the store a very nice older gentleman at the fishing rod aerea guide us to buy the right rod and abi at the till was absolutely amazing, you will see us again

We don't often visit this shop but when we do it is always clean, tidy and very well stocked. We always find what we need and have ever walked out empty-handed! The staff are all so friendly and helpful and today we were served at the till by a very friendly, chatty Jake who made sure we had everything we needed. Thank you 😊

Found what I wanted apart from insect repellent.
Able to try a couple of items on in the changing facility. Stopped me buying incorrect size.

£80 lost! I asked for a caravan flogas cylinder, they sold me a barbecue one. I didn't know they were different. Now they won't discuss a refund, or swap for the correct sort.
Worse, their manager's attitude made my normally placid blood boil.

Go outdoors reply must have been AI generatated, as I recieved 14 emails from Go Outdoors, all with different signatories over the bank holiday weekend. Claim denied on store managers reply all about my visit to return the cylinder the next day. Not when I paid for it.
My legal points never even considered.
They are not in the retail ombudsman scheme.
Worse, the replies contain information that I do not recall being given and a warning not to harass the staff.
In summary - I don't think they give a (insert prefered phrase here)
I now feel harassed, accused and robbed of justice.
I wonder who would think that it's worth a couple of thousand to go to court? It's a real risk, they deliberately make shoppers visit in person to avoid refunds and that suggsts to me that they might well decide to appeal a small claims settlement - or just not pay up.
I'm asking myself who would take the risk of shopping there at all?

UPDATE 27 JULY
After two months, 50 or so mails, replies, rejections, and starting a small claims court action, JD Sports (for Go Outdoors is them in disguise) wrote to offer a settlement out of court for my £80.20 subject to a strict 3 day deadline for acceptance and an insistence that I break off the court case before they pay up. They did also agree to meet the £35 court fee.
I don't think I need say more - res ipsa loquitur. (Non- lawyers can google that)

Still haven't received the 2nd half of my order, despite the shop app telling me all items are ready to collect. Wasted petrol for 2 unsuccessful trips to the store for nothing and my son also missed out going fishing as needed the items we ordered. Not the intended store staffs fault, it is the overall ordering system and issues with that.

Just want to give a massive shout out to Dave from the Harlow branch. Absolute gentlemen, helped me find everything I need for my first camping trip based on my budget. He talked about the pros of each item and and explained the options available to me and just made the whole experience so easy! Dave is the man!

Great service by Dave and Dan, popped in for some knowledgeable about tents and overall knowledge about clothing was brilliant will be shopping here again.

Maddie was significantly helpful and was the main factor to my positive experience, it is clear the employees have very high knowledge on the products and this was clear through Maddie specifically. Thank you very much.

Good tips and nice prices for members ,huge choices of staff

A small while ago, I had the unfortunate experience of being let down by another company for a roof box on the day they said I would be receiving it, due to the fact I needed this almost immediately I seeked alternative boxes where I ended up in Go Outdoors - Unfortunately I was unable to purchase one at the time due to the make and model of the roof clamps I needed being unobtainable in the desired time, however, the service I received by both Conner and Tamzin was something remarkable.. Conner almost took it as a personal mission to be able to get what I needed in the timeframe given and tried absolutely everything available to him and even though he was unsuccessful in doing so, the sheer effort he displayed shows what a credit to the company he really is - I don’t know his position in the company, he didn’t mention it once, but he displayed some of the best customer service I’ve seen in a long time in any retail store. Tamzin also was fantastic in how she was dealing with the situation, showing me all of the available options available to me and the differences in prices - If it wasn’t for the fact I couldn’t get the clamps, I would have 100% bought the box from Go Outdoors.

I know it’s a long review, but I wanted to make sure whoever saw this knew how genuine it was - I appreciated both of your help that day guys and will no doubt be back shopping in Go Outdoors due to the service I received, you both deserve any praise you get 👍
