Great shop . Better savings !

I found everything I wanted and all the staff I spoke to were very helpful.

Employee was rude behind the counter. We asked if we can get our student discount code (as it stated in the store students had 10% discount) and then before even looking at the discount she rudely said ‘I already did it’. When walking out of the shop the receipt stated no student discount was given.

I wanted to buy a roof box but needed to check all the dimensions before committing. Grace took the call and reserved the box; when I arrived Michael unpacked item and helped me make the necessary checks. He then helped carry the item out to my vehicle. All the staff were very helpful, professional and friendly.

Luke was fantastic, he help sort our broken event shelter poles with no fuss at all, really quickly!

Charlie at the chesterfield store was really helpful with my questions and her product knowledge was great.

The Sales Assistant, Richard was incredibly helpful and honest with the way he approached what we needed. He was polite and respectful, something which is sadly becoming rare in retail these days.

Charlie was very helpful and knowledgeable when we were asking about the Berghaus jackets. Staff are always friendly.

Bought a couple of umbrellas from here. One broke with less than ten minutes of total use. Took them both back for a refund. First thing 'Sue' on the till asks a colleague is, "is that okay, bringing back a broken umbrella?" thankfully her colleague said yes because I didn't want to have to explain to her how consumer law works. Didn't get an apology for the product they sold me breaking so soon, either.

Unfortunately things got worse when it came to refunding my payment method. Because I paid with ApplePay it was tricky bringing up the last 4 digits of the card, because of the way ApplePay masks the real card details. With this difficulty came a suspicious and sharp tone from 'Sue' which I really didn't appreciate. I came with physical receipts and I don't understand why it was so difficult to just refund the payment back to the original payment method. I do this with 1 click on the ecommerce store I run. Yet I was made to jump through all kinds of hoops and treated by Sue as if I was trying to scam them.

Eventually I did get the refund although I think this was mainly due to the fact her colleague didn't see a problem, yet left to Sue I would probably have had to ask to see the manager to get it sorted.

Spent many hundreds of pounds with GoOutdoors over the years, this experience has made ma reluctant to buy anything if something goes wrong and I have to go through this again.

Maybe give Sue a bit more training on customer service and the tone she takes with people returning poor quality products.

Michael was super helpful when I was trying on my shoes, offered some great advice with my foot shape and types of walking boot to help

I rang to see if a Burghaus Adhara 500 was in stock (website said 3) the gentleman who answered said he’d go check. He confirmed and placed it behind the tills ready for me to collect. All the staff I came in contact with were fantastic and welcoming. Will definitely be using this store again

Bridget at the bike workshop was very helpful. I came with a problem and left 15mins later with the problem fixed. My local bike shop was quoting 3 weeks.

Welcoming, well laid out store. Good discount in sales. Helpful and courteous staff, and found what we were looking for.
