Appalling Customer Service - I don't trust this company!!!!

Despite numerous emails to this company, I've yet to receive a single response.

I have a valid £75 voucher purchased by my children but have been unable to use it. Their website was down for a significant period during the summer and no Golf club i have contacted will accept their vouchers. I have asked for a refund but the silence is deafening

DO NOT Waste your money, I have like so many others on here been taken advantage of. I will be looking at all ways of having the site taken down as this is a scam and disguising. The good reviews must all be my them and I feel so stupid I didn’t
Know that this was what happened 150£ wasted. If anyone has had any luck reporting or getting money back please let me know.

They do not have a phone number and do not answer emails!!!

It is a scam. They are online selling green fee vouchers claiming that they can be redeemed anywhere which is a deliberate lie. They list all of the golf courses in the UK but I know most will not accept these vouchers as they have no arrangement with Golf Voucher Shop. Bramley GC and Clandon GC won't and I am sure places like Swinley Forest / Sunningdale wouldn't dream of doing so. My golf club who has no arrangement to accept any vouchers asked them to remove the club from their list and they refused. It appears that Golf Voucher Shop work on the basis that most people who buy these vouchers will be giving them to a relative - so will never know that they haven't been redeemed as the recipient of the ‘gift’ would be too embarrassed to confront the gift giver so basically they take the gift giver’s money and they keep it!

Excellent Vouchers and a fantastic company to deal with! We have used this company for the last ten years and had no issues what so ever. We also run golf clubs for owners and appreciate the revenue the vouchers bring to our venues. Also ! it is totally irrelevant if a golf club has heard of The Golf Voucher Shop or not -golfers just have to follow the instructions and they can play golf at any venue they choose. Many reception staff (we have a lot of part time staff)at our venues are constantly unaware of their vouchers (plus all other vouchers on the market) and have no problems when golfers call to book golf . It's like saying a golf club has never heard of you when you call them up to book a game of golf - makes no sense! We have also purchased vouchers for staff and for clients. Sure the vouchers are valid for twelve months - if anything it urges the golfer to use the voucher which is the whole idea! Yes? and it is an additional revenue line for golf clubs without having to do anything really. I felt the need to comment as I just think people are being too hard on this company mainly because their voucher expired. Have you ever tried to use a Tesco or a Boots voucher that expired ? Good luck with that! This is simply a great company with a fantastic product that we will absolutely continue to use for our staff, customers, friends and clients. Would absolutely recommend!

I bought my husband a voucher from here for his birthday in December 2017, which arrived on his actual birthday (had ordered it weeks earlier). Unfortunately due to unforeseen family circumstances he was unable to use the voucher until December 2018. But when he went to redeem it, the Golf course he chose (stated on the list) said they'd never heard of them. My husband e-mailed this company numerous times, as did myself, to try to redeem, with no response from anyone. Plus there is no phone number to speak to anyone. Finally after constant e-mails to them, they replied to say "The voucher is now out of date & cannot be redeemed". The voucher was dated 16th December, my husband tried to redeem the voucher on the 10th/11th December. again, after more e-mails to the company, he was then told "you have to give a 14 day notice to redeem" How convenient for them! This was never mentioned prior, and no letters sent out with the voucher explaining this. The e-mails from the company were very rude, abrupt & have total lack of understanding or compassion. I've literally thrown £50 down the drain. We have pre-warned the 4 Golf Courses in our area, that we use regularly, the're all disgusted & have said they'll discontinue using them, as we are valued members. Honestly, do not waste your money.

Explained to them that my wife had been VERY VERY ill most of 2018 since she gave birth to our daughter. I have copied and pasted the response for you all to read:

Voucher expiry dates cannot be extended.

The voucher you received was valid for 12 months, 52 weeks or 365 days. That’s a lot of time to play a lot of golf Migel.

It is the voucher holders responsibility to use their voucher within the 12 month validity period. Not ours.

The threatening and abusive tones in previous emails is not welcome Migel. Please do not assign blame to us for something we do / do not do, did / did not do for YOU not using the voucher as the purchaser intended within a 12 month period.

If there is anything else I can help you with please let me know.

UPDATE : Received this rather pleasant response today 22/12/18, threatening to take further action?? for what? Posting an honest and accurate review?

Do not use this company to get a voucher as it will be a complete nightmare. I booked my course then turned up to play but no funds were transferred to the golf club. So I had to pay for the game and email them when I got home. Still waiting for a reply so it looks like I lost all my money getting this bad voucher. KEEP AWAY

DO NOT USE. Plain and simple, you will only make it a complete nightmare for the unlucky recipient you give a voucher to.
Other reviews have already mentioned the fees so I wont bother repeating that.
I rang a course to make a booking and they had never heard of this company. They were happy to hold the reservation for a few hours to await payment so as per the instructions I emailed the golf voucher shop with the details.
No reply from golf voucher shop to my email until the following day advising they need 14 days notice.
Now what course is going to wait 2 weeks for payment? This just renders the voucher completely useless.
They are not connected to any golf club and the voucher cannot be used at any golf club. In my opinion a company like this should not be allowed as they are profiteering off the back of something they have no connection with.

Most golfers will take one look at this website and think 'what do they actually do?', so this review is aimed at none golfing folk who think this would make a nice present. It won't. It'll cost you 19% of the voucher value, and they do nothing for you apart from pay the bill, which normally takes days to resolve. You have to book your own golf at least a week in advance, hope they pay the club before you turn up to play which they charge another 5euro admin fee to do (The only thing they actually do here ppl). You are much better off putting the work in, find a nice golf club, and buy the voucher from them, or just give someone the cash! This website has no relationship with any club, so no benefits to avail of, customer service is unhelpful and takes days, and the T&Cs will make the person receiving the present, highly frustrated with the whole process. My voucher expired by a couple days, my fault obviously, so they made 132euro off me.

This website functioned perfectly as advertised. However the way they function is in my opinion base profiteering. They sell vouchers for golf clubs and charge a ~11% surcharge to the person who buys the voucher. They then deduct £5 off the voucher value when they actually come to pay out on it! Therefore for the £50 voucher the buying person pays £55.49 for a £45 voucher, thus giving you 81% of the actual payment value as a voucher. Please don't use this website without taking this into account!
