If I could leave ZERO stars I would. After having our new washer and dryer installed on a Tuesday, we noticed on Friday that it had been leaking the entire time from a connection. The water went through our hardwood floors on the first floor into our finished basement, collapsing the ceiling tiles and causing major water damage. The installer, a subcontractor, agreed it was their mistake. However we have heard nothing from Gerhards about damages. After multiple phone calls, and assurances that we would hear from someone, including the owner, on Friday, then Saturday, then Monday, here we are Tuesday with zero communication. We have left multiple messages, multiple emails to no avail. We will be filing a case with Bucks County consumer protection to recoup the cost of the water damages.

Our washer broke down during COVID-19 and we needed a new one quick! Due to the pandemic, I couldn't visit the showroom in person so I called the Glenside store for help. Great and personalized service! Gerry talked me through my options, reviewed the various features that were available on the models I was considering, and helped me come up with the right choice. Got delivery the next day and installation by a crew that was cognizant of the COVID-19 pandemic, both wearing masks and gloves. Sure, you might save a little by going to a Home Depot or Lowe's. Pay a few extra bucks for the expertise and service. You'll be glad you did!

Extremely rude delivery people
I had a very negative experience this week with Gerhards delivery. I ordered a TV and paid for delivery and set up. I was extremely suprised to find out that "set up" was taking it out of the box and plugging it in the wall. I could have had a friend do that. The delivery people were extremely rude and told me that they did not plug in cables and they threw the manual to me and told me to read the directions. I was furious, did not give a tip and called Gerhards immediately. To their credit they sent someone to my home to help me set it up after I explained how upset I was. Unfortunately I am on my own and needed some help with installation which is why I paid the money to set it up. The Gerhards person was very helpful but I will never order anything from there again. Unfortunately I was in a bind as they were the only ones delivering in your home at the present time. Horrible experience. Watch out for rude delivery people.

I ordered a washer dryer set online late one Fri afternoon, the car declined because we have $1000/day spending limit set on it that I had forgotten about. I called IAN CHAPIN at Gerhard's Applicance Inc., first thing Monday morning. I asked if he'd mind splitting the payments into two days so we wouldn't need to go thru the hassle of calling the bank. Then Ian started this rant, and wouldn't let me talk, continued to repeat himself and speak over me, not listening to my desires, or anything, despite my many attempts to get a word in (as he repeated for the 3rd time what he wanted me to do so he could get my $2035 more easily), I ended up hanging up on him. Was cool cause I immediately found another seller for cheaper who had no problem with my request. They might be a good company, but I'll never know cause that was a poor way for any sales person to deal with me, and I won't recommend this place to anyone ever.

My freezer broke a week ago
My freezer broke a week ago, and after searching online for an hour with no results, I called Gerhard's Appliance in Glenside. I am so happy I did. Linda from their sales department is THE BEST and was able to find me a freezer and deliver it the same day. What a blessing. This was our third transaction with Gerhards. We had a salesperson issue on the first sale when we purchased a refrigerator and a freezer. Our second transaction went very smoothly. The third was a purchase of the Bosch dishwasher had a snag. Our previous two dishwashers were hardwired and when the delivery guys arrived the informed me I needed an outlet, a $150 charge. I was not informed by salesperson that Bosch dishwashers are only plugged in. I could have put outlet in myself for a fraction of the charge. You need your staff to inform customers of situations like this. I love your store but I really have to rethink where I make my next appliance purchase.

Our experience at Gerhards was wonderful. We purchased a new washer and dryer and we couldn’t have been happier with the service we received from our sales person Erik M (from the Doylestown store). He was knowledgeable, patient and honest. I highly recommend this store. I enjoyed dealing with a smaller business than a large chain store. We plan on using them in the future for our appliance needs.

I purchased $7000 in appliances. Within 8 months of installation, the $400 microwave oven imploded (glass everywhere). Customer service was extremely rude, accused me of overcooking food (no food residue inside or on glass shards) or operating empty (can't be done), refused to make good. I had to go to GE to get a rebate. Then I heard from many others of similar experiences
Refrigerator purchase
Needed a new refrigerator went to the Roosevelt Blvd store in NE Philly on 3/2 delivered and installed 3/5. From the salesman Mike to the delivery guys could not ask for more polite and caring individuals. The delivery crew went out of their way to make sure everything was left the way they found it. I went to Gerhards Appliance on Keswick in Glenside
I went to Gerhards Appliance in Glenside 3/9/2020 to purchase a new electric range because my old one had burned out. I visited them after having called several appliance stores and talked with whoever answered the phone to get prices and information. They had the best prices for my item, but also were the most informative. The person I spoke with over the phone was Rachel and she was also the person I worked with when I went to their Glenside store. She was very courteous, very generous and patient with her time, and very informed about the GE range I was interested in. She was very careful to be sure i had all necessary print outs of information with regard to the range. Definitely highly recommend this sales person at Gerhards. I will write a separate review when I get delivery and installation.
My dishwasher was installed yesterday…
My dishwasher was installed yesterday and to my dismay it was leaking. I called customer service this morning and within an hour Bob, the technician was at my house looking for the problem. I am the curious type so was watching Bob's every move. He was efficient and located the culprit in a very short time. The gasket around the soap dispenser of the dishwasher was crimped. While there I told Bob I thought I smelled gas. He checked the new stove. He was able to untangle the hoses and tighten the connection. I was very pleased with the service received by everyone at Gerhards. Everyone at Customer Service was top notch.

Absolutely the worst customer service, I will never ever ever ever ever recommend this place to anyone. Rachael was the rudest person I have ever dealt with. #RUDE!!!!

Installer asking for cash and non-response from service managers.
On November 18, 2019, I purchased a dishwasher from the Gerhard’s Appliances Glenside store.
When the installer pulled out our old dishwasher, he said that it was over 40 years old. He said that he needed to go out to his truck to get a connector that would accommodate the new dishwasher. He said that the new part and installation would cost $125 and had to be paid in cash. I gave him the $125. After he left I looked at the bill.
Two of the itemized entries were:
INSTALLDW (Install Dishwasher) $150
P-DWKIT1 (DishwasherInstall Kit) $25
I called the Glenside store and spoke with Manager #1. He told me that he would get back to me. He never did.
I called again and spoke to Manager #2. She said that Manager #3 would get back to me. He never did.
I called Manager #3 three times and each time I was told that he was “engaged elsewhere in the store”.
I called a fourth time and told the receptionist that I would wait for Manager #3 to come to the phone. When Manager #3 came to the phone he said that he had discussed the matter with the installer, who said, “It never happened.”
I wrote an online review saying that I was unhappy with the service I received from Gerhard’s appliances. I did not list the specific details as I hoped the problem could be resolved. A Gerhard’s “business employee” responded to my review. I sent her a version of the above letter detailing the problem (mentioning the names of Gerhard’s staff with whom I spoke). She responded that she sent my letter on to the appropriate persons in the company and that they would contact me to discuss my concern.
It is over two months since I was told that Gerhard’s would respond. They never responded, so I am making my letter public (with the names of the installer, managers and business employee redacted).
If you deal with Gerhard's and the installer asks for additional cash, I suggest that you call the store manager and ask him/her if the installer is being honest.
