Wish I'd read the reviews first! Sadly had to get work done urgently on a Saturday for guests. Charged an eye-watering amount of around £500 to reattach a plastic loo waste pipe - 20 minutes, no parts needed. You live and learn. AVOID!

What a joke. I originally checked Google reviews and called them. But there 5* reviews is a joke as they actually refuse to publish anything less.

The guy who came out looked into our manhole but didn't listen to what the problem was, was saying I can unblock it and put a camera...there wasn't a blockage as my poor hubby spent 2 hours down said manhole clearing it it's a collapsed pipe (as hubby could see it,but not reach). But the best of it was the call out is £48 if you want a receipt or invoice he'll charge you VAT on top..dodgy or what.

Bad from start to finish. Found them under George The Plumber, claiming to be eco friendly and had 12 5 star reviews. Not showing on a search now.
An outfit run by an agency of various people, not a local business. Did not fix it and charged £49 plus £179. Next person who came fixed it easily by rodding it, which the plumber said he had done. Complained and did not receive a call back 2x. Best avoided.

These so called plumbers are thieves. I had to give them money as they would not leave without paying them a call out charge, that was not mentioned.
I am 72 and a pensioner my wife and I are very sick. I had two men , I think they did not know how we work in England. Well perhaps they do! they quoted me £silly money. I was on my own as I only asked for a quote, they would not leave when I told them they were trying to rip me off unless I gave them money. They should be imprisoned for theft. We should not have to endure this kind of abuse this should be handled by police and I will pass this onto them as this is clear how they are stealing from people and should not be able to work if they even have a work permit!

They scammed my 83 year old neighbour. They charged her £180 to remove a TV remote control from behind her heater. It took no time to slide it along . No quote just started doing it. Got it out and then says "That's £180 cash " Gave her no receipt. No quote. Just demanded the money. They're not plumbers it's a call center. They will not contact you when you call to complain. They say I'll call you back immediately but they don't. You have no come back because they send any man with a van and it's not George. You don't know who you're letting into your house.

I had a major leak and needed a plumber asap. My usual guy wansn't available, so I Googled same-day plumber and found George the Plumber. They did get to my house in about an hour, and the £48 call out charge was not unreasonable. But if my family had not been at risk of not having any mains water all weekend if the part wasn't replaced (this being a Friday) then I wouldn't have paid the exorbitant price I was charged. I paid £858 incl VAT for a job that should have probably cost about £550. Overpaying by about £300 to get the emergency job done. In the moment I had no choice, but I will never use this company again.

Two operatives arrived not showing much idea. The call out charge tripled and the work they suggested was not required neither would it have solve the problem. Very poor; avoid.

Needed a replacement shower cartridge so called this company out. He checked and confirmed cartridge fault...then quoted £400 to replace (plus the £48 call out).
Needless to say, declined. He actually said the cartridge would cost £380! Ordered one for £115 and will replace myself
Rip off merchants! Avoid

Really appreciated how honest they were. They explained exactly what needed repairing and didn't try to sell me anything I didn't need. The repair was done quickly and everything has been working perfectly ever since.

Needed a few jobs done around the house including fixing a dripping tap and replacing an old valve. George got through everything in one visit and the quality of the work was excellent. Friendly, reliable, and easy to deal with.

I'd noticed the water pressure in the house was getting worse, so I gave them a call. They found the problem straight away and had it fixed much faster than I expected. Really impressed with how easy they made everything.

Excellent service all around. Communication was great, they arrived on time, and the plumber was really nice to deal with. The repair was done properly and the area was left spotless. I'd happily recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable plumber.

GEORGE THE PLUMBER IS A SCAM
They are not local- their google reviews are fake. My actual local plumber was busy so he couldn’t fix. George the plumber turned up- actually a massive guy called Pavlov who didn’t even knock I’m not even joking. He just walked in and started taking his shoes off!! When we established who he was he looked at my bath and then went to call his boss. He then put his boss on the phone who said ‘£380’. I was like is that a joke it’s just a flannel stuck in the bath drain pipe. He was very aggressive and asked how much I thought it should be and I said reasonably £50 (£100 would be extortionate) and he laughed at me and said no chance- very professional lol! My plumber has since been out and yes it cost £50 as it was just a flannel in the bath drain pipe. Maybe they just go around collecting £48 call out fees?

We had a new water heater installed and the whole process was really smooth. The plumber answered all our questions, got everything fitted properly, and cleaned up before leaving. Very happy with the result.

Reasonable call out fee but won’t declare a labour cost per hour. When the plumber arrived the repair costs for a simple job were eye watering. Do not use unless you have to!

Complete scam. Charged £500 for adding an extra join to my cold water for a dishwasher and cutting a hole in a cupboard. I asked for an invoice but they wouldn't leave until I'd paid and then only sent the invoice justifying the price afterwards (which is written down as something it isn't). Avoid avoid avoid

Avoid "George the Plumber" at all costs. If you are reading this thinking about booking them, stop right now and look at the rest of their Trustpilot reviews. They have a pattern of doing this to people, and I wish I had checked here first.

I called them out to clear a blocked kitchen pipe, and it was a masterclass in terrible service. The plumber arrived completely late, spent an hour messing around achieving absolutely nothing, and left with my kitchen pipe still completely blocked. Despite fixing zero problems, I was hit with a massive bill: a £48 call-out fee plus an outrageous £180 for "labour" + VAT. To make it even shadier, he pressured and forced me to pay the total £228 balance strictly in cash.

Before management replies with their usual line:
I know you love to respond to negative reviews claiming, "We have no record of this person being a customer." Let's clear that up right now. You use a massive web of subcontractors so you can legally distance yourselves from your own terrible service. I called the official phone number directly from the George the Plumber website. You sent the plumber, you took the £228 cash, and you own this disaster.

2 young men came and changed a ballcock in my tank in the loft.I had no water at all as it was switched off owing to it overflowing so felt obliged to pay the asking price of £450 for an hrs work done by one of them while the other one sat on the stairs. I do not recommend these people as their prices are extortionate

Should have cowboy as company logo. Beware George the plum will damage your property overcharge laugh about it and when you complain I think they pass the phone around with each other claiming to be managers. They could not manage to turn off a tap
