What an amazing experience!
From my initial enquiry through to my after care everything has been perfect.
The whole team at Focus Clinics have been so friendly, welcoming and reassuring.
I knew following my first appointment and checks that I had found the right clinic to have my surgery. I then met Dr. Allamby and felt so comfortable and safe to proceed with my treatment. On the day of the surgery I felt relaxed about the procedure because I was so informed about what was going to happen. The videos on the website and social media certainly helped with that.
I then had my surgery which was so quick and painless and couldn't believe that I could see immediately. Thanks you so much to everyone at the clinic, you are all wonderful!

It’s 1 day post-op and I am so blown away by how immediate the results are. I could see the evening of my treatment and now already have better than 20/20 vision from my -4.25/-3.25 prescription with a slight astigmatism in 1 eye. Just some dryness which is to be expected. Wild!! I felt very cared for along the way in all my pre-op appointments and Focus Clinic is flexible with changing appointments if needed and provide so much information to answer any questions. Dr. Allamby is incredible. The treatment itself, albeit very strange and a little uncomfortable, is not painful and only takes a few minutes per eye. Truly life-changing! Thank you!

I can't give Focus Clinic enough credit for how valued I've felt, it's been six months now since my treatment and after numerous checkups, my vision is still sitting strong at 20/12. Investing in my vision is one of the best things I've ever done and I cannot recommend it enough, I couldn't have predicted such an improvement to my life.

I am 24 hours post lasik surgery and have 20/12 vision, which is 2 better than 20/20 so a fantastic outcome. Only in minor discomfort now, and not particularly light sensitive.

I have given three stars because I felt that the treatment day itself was poorly run and felt shambolic, which is not comforting when you are anxious before a surgery. I arrived early, and there were many delays - the team did not communicate any of them with me, I kept having to ask. For some reason the surgeon took the patient booked in after me in before me for consultation and then surgery. He told me to take the diazepam and that we would go into surgery 10-15 minutes later, instead it was 1 hour 15 minutes in which time my anxiety grew a lot. Right before I went into surgery the other patient came out and started talking about the surgery in detail to his family which was very scary especially after the delays - I was in the clinic for 1.5 hours longer than usual, whilst having a very simple prescription treated. I had to keep asking, and the receptionist was unhelpful giving me false information that it was due to taking the tablet which contradicted what the consultant said. For private healthcare I expect to be kept updated as a minimum.

The next day, they decided my medication needed to be changed, we waited 40 minutes with no update and again I went to the front desk and it was sitting there ready the whole time - they kept us waiting for no reason.

The waiting room chairs are pretty uncomfortable and the whole thing could do with a make over, the refreshments were largely empty on some days, full on other days.

My husband has had lasik done elsewhere for much less money and said it was a far smoother experience - he was quite shocked when he accompanied me.

I’m so pleased my surgery went well and my vision is great, but to spend so much and be kept waiting and waiting without a genuine need is frustrating, I booked with the clinic because of all the positive reviews so am really surprised to be writing one that isn’t 5*, but honestly from my experience I might recommend going elsewhere.

I have had a great experience receiving laser eye corrective surgery at Focus clinic. The team were extremely thorough and professional throughout the entire process, leading up to surgery, during and the aftercare has also been fantastic. The surgery itself went without any problems and I am absolutely thrilled with the result, completely painless and the recovery has been very fast.

Just had LASIK surgery with Focus Clinic and I had an outstanding experience from beginning to end. The entire team are very professional, friendly and always available. DR Allamby is a superstar, extremely competent, reassuring and kind. I cannot recommend Focus enough.

Focus really are as good as the reviews suggest! After a lot of research, I found the risks of wearing contacts too great in comparison to the risks of laser eye surgery. Especially with the highly skilled surgeons and the comprehensive pre-surgery testing that Focus have. Further, the testing is free (you get your money back if you decide not to go ahead). Have heard a lot of places wrongly tell patients whether they are suitable or not, so get it done properly with Focus! They gave my mum and I a lot of time in the first consultation to ask every question we had and further, when we met Dr Allamby, he was also very generous with his time. He personalised my surgery to account for further change in my prescription (as I am mid twenties) and put me on a course of antibiotics to combat my newly diagnosed MGD (leads to dry eye). Not sure you would be given such personal treatment elsewhere. When it came to surgery day you got the feeling that the team love what they do and this really helped me to relax. I was even filmed for TikTok! Not sure if that happens to everyone! Was amazing to look back on and show my family! My mum was quite nervous and hesitant about me having it done so it was really lovely that Dr Allamby spoke with her after the surgery to explain that it all went well. Further, he even made sure we had a lift home before setting off on his bicycle! The whole team were so kind. I'm so glad I didn't go anywhere cheaper. You've only got one set of eyes, get it done properly! A week later and its almost like it never happened. And I have better vision than I did in contacts / glasses. Lifetime aftercare (eye drops etc.). 10 year free re-treatment guarantee. Financing options too which make it affordable. Thank you so much to everyone as Focus, I cannot recommend them enough

I was really nervous to have LASIK surgery but after a lot of research and phone calls with Focus’s friendly team I knew it was the right place for me. Couldn’t ask for anything better, I am so grateful to Dr Allamby and the Focus team, well worth travelling for!

Everyone had Focus clinic was so kind and patient with me. Getting your eyes done is stressful but I never felt rushed or made to feel like I was asking silly questions. The initial consultation was extremely thorough and detailed, probably the most thorough eye test I’ve ever had in my life!

I’ve worn glasses for 28 years and my prescription was very high, but Dr Allamby and the team were all very transparent with me about the procedure, how much I would benefit from it considering my prescription and what to expect.

It’s been one month since my LASIK and I’ve never looked back. The follow-up care appointments have been really useful and the team are routinely checking my eyes to make sure nothing has gone awry. It’s nice to know that the team still care about their patients even are the procedure has been done and you’re not left to your own devices!

Had Lasik here in November 23. Would highly recommend this clinic, especially Dr David Allamby.
I had quite a high prescription with astigmatism, and I'd heard that can be quite complex - which it was, but Dr David handled it brilliantly.
I was an incredibly nervous patient, and I even rescheduled twice due to nerves, but the staff were all very helpful.
Recovery was quick and I've not had issues at all. It's one of the best things I've done! I've got 20/20 vision now, dryness has reduced significantly for me around the 4th month post op.
My advice is to research your case well and discuss any concerns with Dr David as he's very accommodating and patient.
Their 12 months finance option is also very handy!

Mr Samer Hamada must be credited as a gentle, easy going and kind surgeon who puts his patients at ease.
His thorough preparation and conversation with me prior to surgery at both the initial consultation, as well as on the day helped to keep me calm and I was pleasantly surprised by how painless the process was.
Recovery is still in its early days, however it's so nice to do basic things without needing glasses!
Thank you to the entire team at Focus for their kindness and attention. It deserves to have the reputation it does thanks to all the staff that work there.
