Took my car to the Sheffield branch for a new clutch. Car required 3 further visits and clutch kept failing again. Returned to another branch for the 4th repair in 3 weeks for the same issue. Confirmed that the parts fitted by Sheffield need replacing again but despite having the car for over a week this time still unable to provide a time scale to repair. Poor quality work, lack of service and communication. No effort to put right their mistakes. The “warranty” isn’t worth anything if they won’t actually do the repair. Wouldn’t touch any branch of this business again.

Terrible communicators, extremely poor service. Booked in for a full service and MOT, so had given them almost £300 pounds. My car ended up being in the garage for 3 days and nothing was fixed. They didn’t ring to update me once; all communication was initiated by me. They had said repairs would be a couple of hundred pounds, but when I collected my car, they didn’t have a quote ready for the repairs, and when I requested this, they then said 800. I had to return AGAIN after collecting the car as they hadn’t signed the service book. Pointless!

After using this centre for my MOT I returned to have four tyres replaced. I obtained a quote online and the staff member moaned about the price, suggesting they would make 'no' money on fitting. Then, on return for collection, I was told they had broken my wheel locking nut tool and nothing could be done. "my problem"! The overall experience and customer service were shocking. I've then had to go to another garage and spend double the price.

How are these people qualified? I dealt with Kieran (or should I say Karen) as he was a horrible person to deal with, very rude and aggressive, and I've used plenty of other garages over the years, but didn't this time as they were all booked up.. I went in for an MOT test, and they failed it completely. After a few weeks, I took it to another local Garage, and it was passed without incident. I showed them the MOT list from F1 and they laughed at it, they even stated Formula One is the McDonald's of the car repair industry, "hiring anyone who knows the difference between a spanner and an adjustable wrench."
I will be taking this further.

I booked my car in for a 1pm service appointment and left the keys as instructed. I then spent three hours wandering around the local area in the rain, assuming the work was being done. When I returned, I was told they hadn’t even looked at my car. No effort, no communication, no apology—just complete indifference. The lack of commitment and customer service was unbelievable. An absolute waste of time, and I won’t be returning.

Worst experience at this F1AC Chesterfield Road Garage (Sheffield).
I have raised a complaint with the head office regarding their staff member, Kieran, who was shockingly rude and highly unprofessional.
I'll update this complaint with the response from HO

Recently I had a breakdown on my way home When my drive belt snapped on my van.
I called formula 1 chesterfield rd Sheffield to see if they could help on short notice explaining I was due to go on holiday the next day.
Dan and his team were so helpful with in less than 3 hours I was back on the road.

I booked an MOT for 10/4/25. When I collected the car I was surprised and disappointed to find that it had failed the MOT with a major defect on the offside engine mounting and suspension arms nearside and offside.
I asked how much the repairs would be and was told off handedly that he had looked up the price for the latter and that they couldn't do the repairs on the mounting and pushed my fail certificate at me.
I drove my car home and immediately contacted my usual authorised car mechanic and was told to take it in although he couldn't look at it for a week.
A week later I received a phone call from my mechanic that he could find nothing wrong with my car! He decided to get a second opinion on this and the second mechanic could find nothing wrong with it either. They then took it to an independent MOT testing station who passed the car with no advisories (apart from child seats fitted).
I've had the inconvenience of being without my car for a week, incurred extra costs of testing and mechanic, had to pay for deliveries etc etc.
I think that this service is disgraceful. How can anyone trust this test centre.

Great service and prices. Friendly team at our local branch advised us on best options for my car. Fitted quickly and also rectified a steering wobble. Gave advice for mot will definitely go back and recommend to others.

I had an exhaust problem, making a rattling sound so called in last minute although they were very busy my issue was sorted by a true gent - Dan @ the Woodseats Branch.

Horrendous

Booked my car in for an MOT 3 weeks in advance. Booked in on the telephone. Turned up on the day (Friday 20th Sept) to find they didn't have it booked in but somehow remembered having the conversation with me. No apologies. First offered to do the MOT on the following Wednesday, then offered Monday (23rd Sept, today). My MOT ran out on Friday so booked in for the Monday. Low and behold I got a phone call today to say that all machines had gone down and the MOT couldn't be completed but it could be completed on Wednesday (funnily enough the original day they offered, even though they've apparently had to push back all appointments from today to the rest of the week). Once again, no apologies. Booked a holiday day from work for nothing and stuck with no MOT on car. Now phoning round other garages.

Took my car for an MOT a couple of weeks ago which, following my bad experience with them 5 years ago, was a mistake. They correctly failed it, but for the wrong reasons. The tested stated that one of the front ball joints was badly worn, but the actual fault was a disintegrated suspension top mount. I even queried the failure with the tester as I knew the ball joint was only 6 months old but the top mount was showing signs wear, and he said the top mount was perfect and it was definitely the ball joint. They then went on to quote almost £1,060 for repairs to get it through the MOT. I took it away and was shocked when the suspension strut literally fell out of the car on my driveway because the mount had come apart despite the tester’s assurances it was “perfect”. Total cost of repairs was actually £148 which is £900 less than they tried to take from me.

When booking my appointment the person behind the counter advised me that the tyres needed to be ordered and that they would be cheaper to order online and book an appointment. This was great advice and saved me over £40.
Service was spot on and all done in a timely manner.

Had my car aircon regased with a free summer health check great service will definitely use again

I had an unexpected flat tyre in the middle of an important journey and, luckily, it happened about half a mile away from F1 Autocentres (Sheffield South). I pulled in and spoke to Jason at the desk who said they were really busy but, seeing how desperate I was, still managed to find time to get the tyre replaced. They also realigned the tracking for me, while the car was up, as it was way off. I was so impressed by the speed of the work and the quality of the work (I didn't catch the mechanic's name, but he had black curly hair and glasses), but most of all the service was excellent. Really felt like they cared and went the extra distance to get me back on the road again. Price was reasonable too, especially considering they basically did it as emergency work and charged no extra for that. Thanks so much!
