Absolute shambles. I lost 2 hours pay from work to ensure i was at Coventry Formula 1 tyres more than 15 minutes early for 2 tyres to be fitted after receiving email confirmation of booking which i had paid in full. I sat in waiting room nearly an hour and then guy saying he was the manager didnt want to waste my time the tyres were in Tamworth and no point waiting so take car away and i will ring you. Ive arranged cover at work to be there !!. Don't suppose there will be any refund of my fuel or pay i've lost. Can they not check tyres are on site or call people b4 they turn up to say tyres not here and manager seemed a bit flippant about wasting my time like it was an everyday occurance.

Awful experience
I had a very bad experience with formula one autocentres staff member in this morning . I booked an appointment through online for the tyre fitting and alignment service at 11.30 am today and they have confirmed my booking and received a confirmation email from them. I reached the site around 11.10 am. When I entered the reception area one of the staff member attended me and he introduced himself as a manager. I said to him that I have a booking for 11.30 am for tyre fitting and alignment service and shown him the booking reference number. At first he refused that they have not got any details of my booking and once I showed their email confirmation he agreed that they have got my booking details but it’s not diarised to do it today. Also he said that he has got only two staff today and they can’t get it done .This person was very rude to me and he just walk out from the reception without even listening my concerns and telling that I will not fix your car today. I already told this person that if you are busy , I am ready to wait. He denied everything and he dealt this matter very unprofessionally and arrogantly. My question is if they are unable to do a work today then why did they accept my booking and given me the slot at 11.30.

Booked in an MOT, PAID for the slot. Came 10 minutes before. Got told that they cant perform the test as a car had priority due to having a serious fault. Person at reception told me that they where about to call me...
I asked about a refund got told to call a number instead. Which was after hours.

Material cost too expensive
The work is good but the cost of material is double the price sold online (euro car parts).
I was sold 2 VW shocks of which a unit shock was £119.
Also £30 for a unit spark plug X 4
This is outrageous
Updated: Great Tyre Work & Polite Staff, But Disappointing Start and Questionable Upsell
I booked an appointment for 8:30 AM and was advised to arrive at 8:15 AM, which I did after rearranging my morning schedule. Unfortunately, when I arrived, no one was there. After waiting around 30 minutes (now 8:45 AM), a staff member wearing a branded shirt informed me that both managers were stuck in traffic. I was told I could either come back later or leave my keys and find a nearby café while they got started.
It was disappointing – I’d made every effort to be punctual and expected to wait comfortably inside with a coffee and a view of the work being done. Instead, I found myself walking in the rain to a nearby retail park to find a Costa.
About an hour later, I received a call advising that several parts supposedly needed replacing – brakes, discs, and suspension components – totalling around £1,500 in additional work. None of these issues had been mentioned during my MOT just weeks earlier, so I declined the extra work. I did, however, agree to wheel tracking (around £100), as I’d just fitted brand-new premium tyres and wanted everything perfectly aligned.
While the upselling felt a little pushy and the appointment handling was disappointing, the staff themselves were friendly, polite, and professional. The tyre fitting and tracking appear to have been completed to a very high standard.
I’d consider returning in the future, but next time I’ll supply my own parts and pay only for labour – after getting a few second opinions. As a company director with 20+ years in business, I always double-check that recommended work is genuinely needed and that the service quality matches expectations.
Update: I’ve now booked my car into BMW Leading Specialists – Coventry’s Premier MOT & Service Centre for a full inspection, and will also follow up with an official BMW dealership. We’ll soon find out if the “urgent” £1,500 of work recommended by Formula One Autocentre Coventry was truly warranted, and whether the tyre fitting and tracking were indeed done to BMW standards.
This isn’t about accusing Formula One of dishonesty – it’s about due diligence. Given other reviews here and my own experience, it’s only sensible to verify everything independently before deciding to use a company long-term.
There are many bad actors in the motor trade, so it’s worth spending £80–£100 for a manufacturer-level inspection. Think of it as an MOT × 100 in terms of detail – every component is assessed and graded (minor, major, or urgent).
I genuinely hope Formula One was honest with me when recommending that additional £1,500 of work. I actually liked the staff and their attitude, but when it comes to car repairs, trust and transparency are everything.
I’ll update this review once BMW has completed their inspection and confirmed the findings.
Update – 23 October 2025
I had the car independently inspected, covering both mechanical and electrical systems.
I can confirm that everything stated by Formula One Autocentres was 100% accurate and correct. I’d be happy to use their services again in the future and would have full confidence in any issues they diagnose.
This has been my personal experience, though others may differ. I still recommend that anyone facing a large repair bill consider getting a second opinion from an independent specialist before proceeding.

Damaged my TPMS sensor
I had a new tyre replacement at F1 antocenter
while replacing the tyres they broke the TPMS sensor and said it was already broken. If it was already broken i should have got a message on the dashboard. I only started getting the message after the y damaged the TPMS sensor when replacing. Absolutely awful experience

The tyre replacement appointment I had booked in for went exceptionally well, with very competitive pricing. The staff were very courteous. However, they also carried out further inspection on my vehicle and informed me that my rear brake discs were scored and needed immediate replacement !! Luckily,I am a retired automotive engineer of 50+ years and know my car inside out and I disputed this. I am worried that someone without my knowledge would fall for this scam and agree to accepting this diagnosis, costing them unnecessary expense.

Booked my car in for it's MOT
Booked my car in for it's MOT although I was a bit apprehensive as I'd never used them before. I need not have worried as the staff were very friendly and professional. The guy that did my MOT was really nice, as my car has a couple of advisories he said which one would be the best to get sorted first and so on. I even asked if he could check something for me, which he was happy to do. He also clipped my exhaust back on as he noticed a part was a bit loose. I'd highly recommend to anyone looking for a honest reliable garage.

I went this morning to have a new tyre…
I went this morning to have a new tyre fitted and they couldn't get my locking nut to go on and the said they put a nut on and when I got home there wasn't one on and let me drive home on 3 bolts which is not recommended last week I had 2 tyres changed and one of which was the same tyre as I had a slow puncher and never had a problem with the changed tyre.

Abysmal service
I’d give no stars if I could! Ordered 4 tyres for motorhome on 28/5 and paid up front with an appointment for fitting on 2/6 at 11:00.
Turned up at Coventry depot to be told ‘oh we can’t fit them the vehicle is too heavy for our equipment’.
They had my phone number and email address for nearly a week and have not bothered to contact me to say we can’t fit your tyres! So a wasted days holiday and wasted fuel and unsympathetic staff who didn’t give a damn have resulted in this review! I will NEVER give them a penny more and now I have to wait 5 to 7 days for a refund!
F1 tyre centres that is shameful customer service! If your aim is to please I suggest you close for a couple of weeks and do some target practice!!

SECOND REVIEW!
SECOND REVIEW!! Yet again. F1 Coventry demonstrate why I would never use another garage. I bought a car from car supermarket 6 weeks ago and already presenting issues. Abdul put my car on the ramp with an hours notice and diagnosed the issue which actually could have been very dangerous if i continued to drive. He gave me great advice and how to get it resolved - with no financial gain to F1 as he sent me back to where I bought it!
Again, complete trust and faith in these guys, who time and time again, show how things are done properly. Thank you Abdul!

Visited the Coventry site for my MOT, The staff were so professional, respectful and extremely helpful. Nothing was to much trouble for them. I will be using them go forward for all service and Mot needs

Booked a service which was easily done online. Very good value especially with a black Friday discount. Communication was spot on. Would have been 5 starts but when I picked up the car the EML was on which turned out a sensor had not been plugged back in during the service.
