I was trying to sort out a pair of tyres for my caravan. Tried my usual tyre places and they let me down. Didn’t even have the decency to do follow up phone calls when promised.

So I decided to go elsewhere. I stumbled upon formula one Autocentres via google. Never heard of them.

Anyways went to their web page and selected tryes I required and a day to be fitted. Paid through PayPal. Nice and simple. Perfect. Or so I thought.

Half hour later I had an email saying supplier could not supply the tyres and to ring them to sort out an alternative.

So phoned up and spoke to a lovely lady who said they had alternatives that could be fitted on the day and time I had originally requested.

The tyres they said could be supplied I knew were more expensive than the ones I’d chosen as I was considering them. I asked about the difference in price and she said they’d honour the original price. Beautiful. Perfect 👌

So I turned up at the arranged time with my wheels in the boot of my car. The guys at the Chester branch only to happy to assist in helping me get them out and carrying them to workshop.

Left them with them whilst I went for a coffee. Popped back. Tyres done. Placed into boot of my car. Job done. Perfect. Thank you guys.

Highly recommended.

If I could give zero I would. Had 2 front tyres fitted by the Chester branch booked online with the car put in as it’s a prerequisite of the booking, so the garage was fully aware of the car type and how low they are. When on site I asked if they could change a tyre that was on the rear as my wheels had been moved around by wheel refurbishers, they agreed. Get my car in to the garage and look at my tyres. The guy then comes in telling me in quite an angry manner he’s not going to change the other tyre around as it’s illegal and I now need to order 2 more tyres and they are refusing to do the 2 tyres I’ve already paid for online. My 2 front tyres were on the legal limit and needed changing for my own safety being a sportier car. The rear tyres have at least 3mm across the tread not illegal at all. After trying explain to the guy with him not being helpful that if he lets me leave with the car with those front tyres that is dangerous. He finally agreed to change the two tyres. After fitted the tyres he then came back in to the waiting room and announced you’ve had that car lowered it won’t go on our tracking ramp, I told him the car is standard but still told me I had lowered it, he then just gave me my keys no paper work no thank you nothing just keys and didn’t even tell me where he had parked the car.
I took the car home and very very luckily haven’t driven it till today when my father looked at my front tyres 1 wheel bolt was extremely loose and basically came out the others all loose expect the locking wheel nut on the other side the same again all loose expect the locking wheel nut. This is unbelievably dangerous and could have resulted in either an accident or something critical for myself and others around me! I have never had an issue with ATS, kwik fit or other tyre fitters but these guys are a complete joke, rude and clearly incompetent of doing their job safely.

Excellent service from F1 team. Rob was extremely helpful, cheery and polite. All work was carried out in a professional manner and advisories explained. I will certainly be back!

Chester Branch provided excellent and professional service whilst fitting my tyres ordered through third party.
Main dealers could learn a lesson from this branch ahem VW Chester.

Absolutely shocking service. If I didn't have to give them at least one star I wouldn't give them any. I ordered two tyres through Blackcircles.com and received an appointment for Sun 01 Sep 24 at 11am. On arrival at 11am I was informed the Tyre Fitter wasn't in and wouldn't be in until 11.30 as he had to get a train in from Wrexham. This apparently happens every Sunday! I was angry to say the least. The first train doesn't even leave untill 10.59. At 11.20 I was told he was running late and 'out of the goodness of his heart' the guy in the office had paid for a taxi himself so that the Tyre Fitter (who apparently is also the Branch Manager) could get from the station to Bumpers Lane as quickly as possible. I was asked if I still wanted my tyres fitting and was asked to bring my car into the workshop. I was also told I couldn't just take my tyres away (that were paid for) as they were the property of Blackcircles... what utter rubbish! I called Blackcircles to see what my options were. She too was less than helpful and made some excuse that she could not find my booking (what?). The operator placed me on hold while she called the Garage. She then informed me that the Tyre Fitter was fitting my tyres... Lies. I was literally looking at my car through the observation window. The Tyre Fitter eventually arrived onsite at 11.59 and took a further 10 minutes before he started. My car was finally ready 1hr and 45 minutes after my 11am appointment. Absolutely no apology from the Tyre Fitter himself... unbelievable. I'm absolutely certain this probably isn't the first time this has happened to a customer on a Sunday morning. How is this Garage and Tyre Fitter allowed to get away with this. Aghh!

Hi went to chester branch on sat 10/2024 for what I thought was a tracking issue they had it on the ramps and it took three of them to look at it after 20 mins the main man came back and said I needed two new lower ball joints and new shock absorbers . not a problem I thought . because my normal garage was closed that day so I said I'll order the parts because my car is an import at a cost of £100 and they will charge me £250 labour . anyway I went to see my mechanic on Monday for a second opinion and he said all that needs to be done is a 4wheel alignment there's nothing wrong with the ball joints or the shock absorbers there fine . to cut a long story short tried phoning them today twice to get it of my chest and they hung up on me twice . so they were prepared for me to drive away with steering faults and that was the issue .please anyone who reads this don't use this garage . next stop trading standards and then head office if they really have one . if you want a decent mechanics go a few doors up to chester auto's

Couldn't fit tyres and balance them correctly to loose wheels (not fitted to car) to save their dinner. My 9 year old would've done a more professional job. If you care for your car they don't be warned.

Having discovered a puncture and needing my aircon re-gassing, I booked online for my local Chester Branch to do a puncture repair, aircon clean and re-gas and added on the free Summer check.
On arrival at the Branch, there was no-one on the desk and phone ringing out continously.
Eventually a chap came through and I advised him of my booking, of which was not showing on his system.
After a search with information from the confirmation email, I booked in. When he answered the phone, it was the tyre fitter advising he would be late into work.
I went to do some shopping and whilst at the shops I received a call advising me that they could not do the aircon works as they don't have the new type of gas my car needs. None of this was mentioned on the website at time of booking, only that there may be a surcharge depending on the gas needed.
On returning to the autocentre over an hour later, I found that the puncture repair hadn't been started, with the tyre fitter seemingly oblivious to the fact that it was awaiting his attention. After speaking to his colleague, he got onto the job but it was clear, the chap who booked me in, hadn't informed him of the job.
The same chap who booked me in, also advised me that he had other vehicles in for servicing etc.
How you can expect two chaps on their own to work on pre-booked works, deal with walk-ins and reception is ridiculous.
After seeing so many good reviews on Trust Pilot and Google I was looking forward to having a stress free repair. Sadly it seems Chester Branch is not in the top tier for service.

I can not recommend these guys enough. They were able to fit a new grill to my Audi which was very tricky but with a great deal of patience and expertise they got the job done. I couldn’t be happier with all the boys at Chester branch.

Attended for two cars to have air conditioning regassed… staff were extremely pleasant and very helpful. We’re happy to give loads of advice on other motor related issues to help maintain our cars. Highly recommend- will definitely be using again

Had to put 1 star as couldn’t have put any less please do not take your car to the Chester store on Bumpers lane they put your lives at risk, my daughters tyre blew out on Monday night so we were towed to the Chester store, we went back in the morning to give the key and were greeted by a horrible very rude man at reception that wasn’t happy at the fact the car was left there, and that the RAC shouldn’t have taken us there anyway got the call at 3.30pm to say the car was ready drove home to then this morning get up to again a flat tyre called out the RAC again who advise the tyres valve had been left open and releasing air and could have blown while my daughter was driving it back Home last night. This is dangerous thank goodness it didn’t blow while she was driving.

Shame there aren’t 0 stars !! What can I say but, WOW!! The Manager Billy, what a rude little man who needs to learn some manners and people skills. Would absolutely avoid this branch and F1 going forward and I would recommend all reading this to do the same simply because of the manager. Cant fault the other 2 members of staff they were great.

MOT was booked for 09:15. Arrived at 09:00 with my granddaughter with me. MOT's usually take about an hour so asked them to ring me when the car was ready. I rang them at 11:10 after walking around the shops for 2 hours with my grand daughter in the pram, they said they where just doing it and would ring back once it was finished. They never rang back. I decided to go to the garage to see if my car was ready this was at 12:00. Got to the garage with music blurring out. The person I spoke to said he would check, he came back to the desk and printed out the certificate plonked the keys on the certificate and told me my car was outside. I explained that I had been walking around the greyhound park for 3 hours and why my car not been MOT'd at the scheduled time of 09:15 not 11:07 when they did do the MOT. He did not reply. Could have said sorry.
Poor customer service. Need to work on their PR skills.
Will not be recommending this garage to anyone or be going back to this garage again after having been to this garage before and had excellent service.

Had a reply from the area manager who said he would look in to this incident.
He promptly replied with a full refund for the MOT and a £20 voucher.
Hopefully this issue with not just me but with other customers has been resolved
