after 2 years same old problems
After saying i would never come back to this garage here i am again a couple years later with the same terrible experience. I have been overcharged for a service, service department unable to help, received a call back from the garage manager who initially was extremely rude on the phone referencing a previous complaint i made a few years ago about a previous member of staff being rude. I have since tried to call back numerous times and to no avail. extremely unhelpful staff and a manager who does not seem to want to interact to resolve an issue. I have since made a complaint to the Motor ombudsman and will also be reaching out the the FCA. Awful experience and i would strongly recommend using another garage for your car servicing needs.

The difference a sales executive can make…
I had to decide between a Renault 5 and a Nissan Micra. Although other factors contributed to my choice being that of the Renault, a major factor was the service I got from the sales executive, Ethan. His support from beginning to end was patient and exacting; his professionalism showed an integrity far superior to others I met in other garages when looking for a new car: He proved to be worth my trust. He made the difference. The service I received was superb. I would certainly recommend this garage to family and friends should they look for a new car.

I visited the Evans Halshaw Durham branch on 10 July 2026 and was looked after by Lewis. I found him to be honest, transparent, and not at all pushy, which was a refreshing change after having some negative experiences at other garages beforehand.Lewis’ professionalism and knowledge made the whole process smooth and straightforward, and I felt comfortable throughout. I purchased a car during my visit, and everything went exactly as explained.I haven’t needed any after‑sales support yet, so I can’t comment on that part of the service, but based on my experience with Lewis, I feel confident that any issues would be handled well.Overall, a positive and reassuring experience.

Good sales from Lewis
This is my 5th car from evans halshaw Durham. I just keep going back as they have always given me a good service when choosing cars and good aftercare.
This time has been no exception, Lewis the salesman was amazing. Im not an expert on cars I basically only put fuel in and drive them. Colour, comfort and style is what important to me.
Lewis asked me a series of questions like what I liked and disliked about my current car, and got me chatting about driving cars in general.
The car he came up with was amazing. We have had it a week now and I am so happy with it. Beautiful Colour good height for easy access, and hey Google is amazing.
Thank you for your patience and your expertise in sales.
