Don’t buy a car from these people. I just lost £250

Friendly, professional staff, no overbearing people just helpful when needed.

Such an amazing experience so quick and easy, I suppose because I was already searching for the car I wanted. George was so friendly and easy going, patient and polite. Jardel wonderful natter we had and so patient with me talking absolute nonsense lol
Wonderful service made me feel so comfortable. Only thing I would recommend is more disabled parking spots close to the entrance please, and a coffee machine that works lol thank you all even receptionists have such a warm welcome. Just an overall great experience.

I took my car to Evans Halshaw Ford Wolverhampton on Saturday 1/6/2024 for an M.O.T.; I had to call Evans Halshaw later that day, as they didn't call me, and was informed that my car had failed the M.O.T.; I agreed to leave my car there until 3/6/2024.
On 3/6/2024, I received a text message and e-mail from Evans Halshaw quoting fro work on the car in excess of £1000, some jobs listed included jobs that were supposed to have been complete by Evans Halshaw at a service in April 2024. When I spoke with someone at Evans Halshaw, I was informed that the M.O.T. hadn't been completed.
I took my car to another garage to-day (4/6/2024) and the car passed. I have tried to keep this factual, I leave it to others to draw conclusions.

Aynsley also went the extra mile in delivering the car to my house when the designated driver was held up because of a rail strike. Thanks also to his father who came to pick him up for the return journey.

Do not buy a car from these unless you have AA or an alternative mechanic to check it over first.

Where do I start? Purchased a car from these end of May 2023. Assured me that the car had been throughly checked.

Checked by whom.. Start off the battery failed, yes they replaced this, but then air con not working but these are only minor things..

The major thing came when the brakes started to grind in November, tried calling Evans halshaw but without any luck, in the end had to book into another garage.

The garage called me up and told me the bad news, the car needed 4 new disks, brakes and 4 tyres and stated that the disks would not have worn as bad as they had in the 6 months I had the car.

I raised this with Evans halshaw who responded and have then since ignored all my communication.. I intend on taking this matter further if not to get some of my money back at least to prevent anyone else being caught out the same.

Oh please don't reply with the usual spill that the feedback will be used for training purposes.. Looking back through the reviews from others, its clear that the training isn't working.

Certainly would never buy again from them.

I recently saw a lovely mk4 Ford Focus ST which EH Wolverhampton Used Car Sales had advertised.
It was everything we wanted in a newer car - A 1 previous owner low mileage example in stunning Performance Blue & in immaculate condition inside & out.👍🏼
My only issue at this moment was it was a 3 hour journey from Yorkshire to Wolverhampton 😬
I made my enquiry online with super helpful Roberto Cataldo asking if EH still did the ‘Move Closer’ option - Sadly they didn't 👎🏼 but Roberto did send me a full personalised walk around video which he forwarded to me via email.👍🏼
It was the best I could expect giving me a full tour of the car exterior/interior which gave me a better idea on the car & allowed me to decide whether the 6hr round trip was worthy.👍🏼
I made the decision to make an unscheduled risky trip to test drive the car the following weekend, & placed the reserving fee of £99 on the day we travelled down 😉 (unbeknown to Roberto) I like the element of surprise, he was a little confused but thankful it was us that placed the reservation.
We set on our lengthy journey early that Saturday from Yorkshire & arrived mid morning at the showroom greeted by the pleasant receptionist who paired us up with the fantastic Mohamed Ellam as Roberto was busy with another client. We were attended with the expected professionalism, offered facilities to make our visit more comfortable & then shown around the car before we dealt with the necessary paperwork to allow us to take the car on a test drive.
Faultless no pushy sales the sales team left us to go over the car with our fine tooth-comb (well I did whilst my wife & son drooled over a New Mustang Mach-E) 🤑 before we headed out on the test drive. Trusted alone with the keys that were handed over & satnav return address punched in so we didn’t get lost👍🏼
The car was fab ticked all the boxes & we were ready to buy, without any added pressure for additional products like wheel protection etc ( of course though they were obliged to offer them anyway).🥱 A straight forward sale, but here was where things became lets say not so much.
I had previously done a HPi check! as everyone should even from a Ford main dealership like Evans Halshaw’s, the check came back 🚩 flagged as having “Outstanding Finance” - Company: Lombard Special Schemes unit
stocking. I had never heard of this & Sales Execs Mo, Roberto & Leader Kate Ford all tried to reassure us it was nothing to worry about & that this was normal dealership practice, allowing traders to have a larger forecourt stock level. 👍🏼
However it was kind of unnerving for us as cash buyers we were about to leave a large deposit & sign for a £20k+ car, the ‘what if’s’ ‘bailiffs repossessions’ etc began circling in our minds. Again to try reassure us further we were given an A4 piece of paper signed, dated & dealer stamped with a photocopied statement that any stock finance would be cleared upon cleared car purchase funds 😮.

We couldn't take away the car on the day as our funds had not cleared into our account to pay the remaining balance - unless of course we decided to finance the car (wink wink) we could & delivery was calculated in excess of £250+ to Yorkshire 🤔so it wasn’t an option we were cash buyers with a budget.
Agreement was made that we would return home leaving a holding deposit with the balance paid Monday & the car collected by myself the following weekend.
A full week! but this gave me an opportunity to do a few further checks on this outstanding finance issue which was still niggling at us (better to lose our deposit than a huge settlement, right)?

I contacted a few companies both from the HPi check Lombard & another company who's name & logo was on the letter-headed A4 sheet of paper we were given, the latter lead nowhere & the company had no interest in the vehicle but Lombard did - a financial interest 😳 & would only send me a clearance letter once we had finalised the remaining cash balance. 👎🏼👎🏼
It just seemed dodgy & a really wrong way to go about selling a car that was a cash purchase. Payment was given & thankfully Lombard forwarded me a clearance letter before I set off by train to collect the car a week later.
Handover went great Roberto personally greeted me at Wolverhampton station in my gleaming ST, (albeit for a missing alloy locking nut key 🙄 which being a ST enthusiast Id set a mental reminder to check was present, glad I did) 😉 Roberto suggested worse case scenario that he would provide a puncture repair can kit & book me in to a EH to have a new set fit nearer home at no extra cost, though I think he knew by my facial expression I wasn't going to travel 3 hours home without a locking nut key & went on a hunt 🕵️‍♂️ to find it & that he did, phew!!
Overall EH Wolverhampton offer great customer service, go above & beyond to make their customers happy.

Was very helpful start to finish, explained all the products they offered and what ones would be more beneficial to me. Car is great and was available very quickly.

Bought a second hand Ford Puma with the assistance of Liz Woolley; I’m really pleased with the car. She was extremely helpful, informative and friendly. She made the whole experience an easy one and overall it was a smooth transaction.
