Je moet echt niet vanaf Düsseldorf Airport willen vliegen als je op tijd wilt zijn.
Al helemaal niet wanneer je aansluitende vluchten hebt want die ga je zeker niet halen wanneer er geen 4 uur tussen zit.
Heb je de pech dat je net binnen de 3 uur vertraging zit en niets kan claimen moet je alsnog ruim een uur wachten op je bagage!

I fly an average of 12 times a year and Dusseldorf airport is the worst airport I have ever been to. They stole half of my 100ml liquides because the plastics bags were to big. I always use the same plastic bags for my liquides all over the world and this was never a problem anywhere. They treated us like criminals and were very arrogant. They abused their power on us and we almost missed our flight. I will never fly from this airport again and advise anyone not to go here. Go to Keulen airport, much better.

Very unfriendly personnel, extremely badly organised checkin, no available parking, hours of waiting for luggage, no efficiently organised pickup area… How can a German airport be so disorganised and disrespectful of its passengers?

Wat ging er niet mis! Onvriendelijk personeel, toiletten niet te vinden. Alles uit je tas en dan nog een extra check....enz enz.Fijn begin van de vakantie

Het wachten duurt altijd heel lang nergens anders is dit wat een rot
vliegveld

Flown with Eurowings great company nothing wrong with that but Düsseldorf AirPort is not recommended by me .
Especially because of the very unfriendly staff and sometimes on the rude side ,especially at the security check.
If you don,t fly too often it,s not a nice start to your holiday

Less than one star. I see on this site that many people have had the same appalling experience at this airport. It beggars belief actually in this day and age that it could be so hopeless. One person checking in two flights! Painful. Then you go to security where there are only two belts, operating very slowly in a very old-fashioned way. No plastic bags provided for liquids at all. Then passport control, two people operating for 4-5 flights. Then walk through a very tired old duty-free shop which looks like it’s going to be renovated and taken over by Heinemann thank goodness, but let’s see if they do a better job than the current store. Then the same poor check-in person has to come and let everybody board the flight through one channel, again, very slowly group by group in rather a chaotic way. Given that this airport is in Europe, there should be no excuse for such lack of staff, cleanliness, terribly old-fashioned. Düsseldorf city has a huge exhibition Centre which attracts tens of thousands of visitors who have to fly in to attend the shows. Simply cannot understand how this airport has not been refurbished and its systems upgraded. Get there hours in advance so that you don’t miss your flights. You have been warned!

Als ik minder dan 1 ster kon geven had ik dat gedaan. Niet voor de vluchten met Emirates, maar de rest wel. Geen optie voor gehandicapten mensen. Ze moeten het maar zelf uitzoeken. Mijn bijna niet lopende schoonvader kon pas een rolstoel krijgen nadat hij een boarding pass had, terwijl hij er al een had ontvangen bij het online inchecken. Hij kon niet eens zijn bagage inchecken hierdoor en heeft al zoveel pijn. Echt slecht geregeld. In elk ander land waar ik heb gevlogen staat er meteen een rolstoel of ander hulp voor je klaar. Wat is dusseldorf airport slecht geregeld voor gehandicapten !!!!!!!

If I could give it less than 1 star, I would! Landed to a 45 minute queue for passport control with no real area to queue, we were up and around stairs. That was our first impression the airport was too cramped. On our departure we arrived to see all three departure gates, A,B&C were being fed through 3 boarding pass control gates!! There was a queue as far as the eye could see, past all the check in desks. Where two large queues met there was a huge gathering of people which meant queuing was pointless. Once we were through the boarding pass gates we queued for another 45 minutes for security. Awful organisation, no guidance, no communication. Did well to make our flight. Worst airport I've ever been to.

Absolute shocker of an airport. Had to wait 25 mins for steps when we landed. Hour long queue at immigration. Departure was much worse. 90 mins to get thru security. Luckily we arrived 3 hours before. Lots of people missed the flight. Avoid this airport.

Keep in mind that Düsseldorf airport, since a few months, closes at 22hr SHARP! Even if you have a delayed (any reason) departure, it's forbidden to land in Düsseldorf after 22hr.. The pilots are forced to beg other airports in Germany for landing permission. Then you have to sit hours in busses to get back to your car in Düsseldorf. For me: first & also last time Düsseldorf!

Worst airport. Please find an alternative route. Avoid this airport please. Very rude and unhelpfull stuff .They made me book a new ticket while I had boarding pass and passed all the security checks just to be told you you are late. I pleaded with them and was told look online for help.

Dreadful experience. Made my disabled daughter stand queuing for an 1 hour for security. No provision for disabled people. Staff rude. Toilets disgusting with overflowing nappy bins.

It is the worst airport I have ever used. 3 hours to check in and go through security . Massive queues . One person checking boarding passes and just 2 security channels. Thought we had missed our departure.Will never use it again. Rude and dismissive staff.

Huge security queue, 1.5 hours long. Terrible smell in the air the whole time. Get to the front and can see many machines not in use. If you have to fly from here come 5 hours before!

Nachdem mein Flug von OLBIA nach DUS am 30.5 mehr als 1 Stunde Verspätung hatte und die inkompetenten Mitarbeiter von Eurowings nicht in der Lage waren mich direkt auf meine Weiterflug nach VIE mit Austrian durchzuchecken, war ich gezwungen mein Gepäck in DUS zu übernehmen und erneut einzuchecken.

Ich kam um ca 17:00 in DUS an der geplante Weiterflug war für 18:00 geplant bzw verschob sich glücklicherweise etwas nach hinten.

Auf mein Gepäck musste ich 30-40 min warten ! ( In Wien war das Gepäck nach 10min am Band) Nachdem ich letztendlich eine neue Bordkarte erlangte war ich etwa um 17:45 in der Schlange am Security Check eingekeilt. Die vermutlich türkischstämmige, diensthabende verantwortliche Frau machte ich auf mein Problem aufmerksam. Sie meinte lapidar, ich solle doch früher zum Flughafen kommen! Könnten sie der Wuchtbrumme eine Basis- einschulung zukommen lassen. Mancher in der Schlange ist eben im Transfer und somit auf flotte Abwicklung angewiesen. Ich sagte ihr der Kommentar sei unerhört und eine Frechheit, worauf sie die Polizei rief um mich vermutlich einzuschüchtern. Nebenbei schloss sie von den verbleibenden zwei Check in Linien eine. Alle beteiligten Security Mitarbeiter taten in der Folge ihr Bestes damit ich meinen Flug verpassen möge. Selbst mein Gepäck wurde nochmals händisch durchsucht. Ich mache den diensthabenden Polizisten auf diese Schikane aufmerksam.

Eine solche Kundenferne haben ich selten erlebt. Möglicherweise ist diese Dame als Tellerwäscherin besser aufgehoben.

Letztendlich hatte, der wahrscheinlich als Standard in Düsseldorf, verspätete Abflug von Austrian mich doch noch ins Flugzeug gebracht.

Ihre gesamte Abwicklung am Flughafen Düsseldorf sind für mich eine Warnung möglichst nie wieder an diesen Ort der Inkompetenz und Sturheit verschlagen zu werden.

Large, but understaffed airport. Only 1/3 of the luggage check-ins were open, despite the fact that it was rush hour, and on top of it, the endlessly slow lady behind the counter had the audacity to tell us to hurry. Same goes for security - only 1 of 3 queues were open. The terminal train station can not be reached directly by train, so one has to go to Düsseldorf Flughafen instead, and take the sky train (monorail train system), which were out of order on the way out, and the ticket machine couldn't accept credit cards on the way back, which caused even more delay. I suggest that you use Frankfurt or Bonn/Cologne instead, if possible. Horrible and stressful.
