I rented a small van from the Easirent…
I rented a small van from the Easirent company in unbelievable price and when I left there I saw that the van was small. I asked if there was a bigger one and not only they give me a bigger one but they didn't charge me more and told me to bring it in the next day without charge. Steven is an amazing guy who knows his business and is incredibly helpful in the Belfast store.
Great service no issue
Pick up and drop off was done buy very friendly taxi driver .. picked up car but forgot to brung my credit card so had to pay extra insurance which I was willing to do .. after all was my fault. I've used several companies at belfast international this one was just as good as others.. seems by previous reviews that people don't really read paper work and get surprised but some costs.
Had a great experience with Easirent
Had a great experience with Easirent. The taxi service from the airport to the hire pick was easy and quick. Liam who greeted us was very friendly and even gave us an upgrade on our hire car which was amazing.
Will be using this service again.
Belfast International easirent Nightmare
Belfast International easirent - complete cowboys. Ok - where do I start? So I arrive at Belfast - there's five of us, I call easirent who tell me that they're 6 miles from the airport, and a cab will pick me up, but can't take all of us, so they have to wait at the side of a road outside a hotel while I go off and collect that car - that's 40 mins in total. Already it's inconvenient. I get there and the smell of booze in the portacabin in an industrial estate is overwhelming. Can't say for certain where it came from, but the guy doing the booking was very...forgetful, shall we say. So we get the car and head off to Donegal eventually. When I get back, I'm told that I've driven 1000 miles and need to pay a £100 surcharge or I won't get my £1,500 deposit back. When I repeatedly pointed out that I'd have to have driven 200 miles a day, when the drive to Donegal and back wasn't even 200 miles, the guy had a hissy fit, said I must be lying, and threw me out of the office. The taxi driver heard it all and agreed it was outrageous and should complain. So, when I eventually get to the airport to find my family, I get a call from Mr. hissy fit from the office to say that they'd recorded it in km, not miles and I would get my £1.5k back after all. When I asked if that meant I'd get an apology, he slammed the phone down. Oh, and all that day I was getting phone calls from their cab company asking when I'd get there because it was a problem for them, claiming that I should've been back at 4, when I quite clearly stated it was 4.30. I arrived at 4.32. (Why should I have to deal with the cab company??) An utter bunch of unprofessional, cheapskate clowns with zero customer service skills who tried to diddle me out of extra cash - until I put my foot down. AVOID!
I arrived at Belfast international…
I arrived at Belfast international airport last night at around 5.45 5th August …. On easyJet from the Isle of Man .. I had booked easierent passed through from the Easy Jet site … on arrival at the airport I followed instructions and called for pick up… there was no answer despite numerous calls to both the airport number and city location … I was forced at significant expense to rent a car from a rent site on airport …. I drove directly to Easirent office near the airport …. To confirm it was closed ….. I tried again the following day Saturday morning with no response… I would firmly recommend against Easirent and suggest Easy Jet take care to protect their intellectual property by name association …
Nice staff, but greedy company?
Beware extra charges
Athough I agreed a price in advance that covered an additional driver, when I turned up to collect the car, I got charged more.
Contacted the company – no response!
NB. Watch for small print – as zero excess doesn’t cover everything – there are exceptions and could cost more.
Belfast ‘shuttle' is a faff..
The pick-up point is quite a way away from the airport, which means lots of waiting around – and no toilet facilities (even for the staff!)
That said, the car was fine and people were pleasant.
Took money did not supply car
Car booked and paid for in advance. Flew in from Scotland and England. Phoned as soon as arrived for shuttle bus - phone was not answered. Airport taxi drivers told us this happens all the time and initially refused to take us to Ballyrobin as they are sick of dealing with angry Easirent customers. One did take us. Office shut. Another customer there returned his van and left it open with keys inside. We sat in there when it rained. Rang Manager in Head Office Leeds who was shocked and he tried to contact Ballyrobin manager on his mobile. No response. Taxi to Belfast £40. Train to relatives £30. Very late arrival to our destination missing a whole evening of our holiday. Relative took us to hire car next day. Enterprise Mallusk were fantastic. Easirent have delayed responding and now refusing to engage. Absolutely appalling. Mark lets the reputation of NI down by his shocking behaviour. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.
What a joke
What a joke. The price they charge, the office, the customer service, there isn't even an email. This message would go to them directly but because they've hidden all email i publish it here. Two hundred pounds per day to rent a car. I wanted one for several weeks ha! Might as well put a mortgage on a house. Fools will you all please stop renting cars from them? Don't pay their prices don't be fooled by whatever is online, it will be triple that in the office.
Absolutely dreadful
Absolutely dreadful. 'Cowboy' company. Do not rent with this lot!! They sent my information to the wrong email address! When I arrived at the airport, there was nothing there! I telephoned the number on the original booking - only endless piped music. Luckily for us, a taxi driver had heard of them and called them on our behalf. On returning the car, we discovered (by chance) that they had moved office - without telling anyone! The guy running the operation gave us no apology and implied it was basically our own fault for booking through an agent. Hard to believe the service we received was so bad!
Save yourself a lot of hassle - go elsewhere
If you're reading this, just pay attention to the overall reviews. By the time you've factored in the extra costs and inconvenience and the costs which were not agreed but are forced on you once you arrive, it would be quicker, easier and cheaper just to take the best option you can from among the reputable players in this market. Easirent's business model is clearly to advertise (and sell it) low and then use every mechanism to overcharge once they've got the customer committed. I should have known better but hopefully can save someone else the pain of dealing with this outfit if they read this.
Great experience
Great experience. The team were so helpful & friendly. The van was 1/3 the price of a car. It was spotless & very economical to run. Happy to recommend
Disgusting company
Rented a car for three days at a good price, when we got the emailed receipt we had been charged an extra £60, they say its for basic CDW insurance and I needed this because I booked from the USA website?? We had two bookings as we were a party of eight people the other booking was charged £40 less than mine? Both bookings were made in England.. Had to walk what seemed miles to meet the guy in a van who then took us to a business park, again miles away. From landing at the airport to picking the car up took over 2 hours. AVOID THESE THIEVES
Excellent experience
Excellent experience, very happy to reccomend. We rented a van at 1/3 of the price of a car. The whole experience was straightforward from booking to returning. Staff there were very helpful & friendly, they kindly picked us up and dropped us back to Belfast International Airport. The van was a little Vauxhall, it was spotless & very economical on diesel. We were delighted and will definitely book again

Criminals
Belfast Airport (it's nowehere near the airport for a start) rental in February 2022.
First thing; there was no shuttle bus when we arrived from Gatwick and I contacted the office for pick up. Office idiot said driver had covid. Really? That should be easy to check. So when we returned the car 5 days later the very same highly infectious driver (as was claimed) was there to return us to airport. "You've not been well," I said. "What are you talking about?" he replied.
It was the first of many lies from EASIRENT staff throughout the hire and, indeed, afterwards. He did not and never has had covid, so he said. The reason he was not there to pick us up is because he'd had a bust up with the office idiot and told them to stick their job. EASIRENT had no back-up so they doubled his wages to induce him to return to shuttling exploitable customers to and from the remote farmyard that is the 'base' of their Belfast operations.
Office idiot would not book a taxi for us to travel to said farmyard so we paid £11.40 for our own inconvenience. When we got there he lied again. This time alleging that the £11.40 would be refunded to the booking credit card. It never was and still isn't.
Thieves.
Our booking was via Rentalcars and included unlimited miles. It said so on the voucher we used to book the vehicle. This was presented to the office idiot as my 'booking'. That piece of paper (and its copy on email) was was the only thing I had. It was a voucher for hire services based on the written terms on the voucher.
Office idiot creates the EASIRENT contract which stated 100miles per day limit. When I pointed this out to the office idiot he just waved it away with his hand and re-confirmed I was on an unlimited miles deal as per my voucher. "Don't worry about that," he said. That should have set alarm bells ringing huh? An idiot that works for criminals telling me not to worry? His third lie had just been uttered. But little did I know it at the time.
Our lovely holiday had got off to a bad start but we enjoyed it anyway. I'm not letting EASIDIOTS spoil that now am I?
And we returned the car.
And the fuel and mileage were checked.
"So we're done are we?" I asked. "No more charges or anything?" "No," came the reply from office idiot #2 (different man this time, but still lying. Gotta admire the consistency of training for these EASIDIOT staff members). His lie was confirming to me there were no more charges. As when I checked my credit card statement a couple weeks later, lo and behold, there's a charge for £15.60.
When I phoned the UK office for EASIDIOT and asked a so-called 'customer service' agent (the only service they provide for the customer is to wind them up even more than they already are by lying and gaslighting through excuse after excuse to justify robbing from their victims, sorry, I meant customers) about the charge they told me it was for excess mileage. What? I fumed. My voucher says unlimted miles. I know, they said, we can see that. But that's Rentalcars fault. We only supply basic stuff at 'super saver' prices. But my contract says 'unlimited miles'? I insisted. Well, that's a problem between you and Rentalcars, they said. So go away and ask them. What. The. Absolute. Robbing. Fig?
So, let me get this right. I have paid Rentalcars for a vehicle hire. The contract for that hire states, 'unlimited miles'. I pick up vehicle, question the office idiot about the 100miles per day on the EASIDIOT paperwork and he tells me not to worry as my contract says unlimited miles. Then after the fact, with no advice from office idiot #2, and no invoice to raise the charge, I get stung for £15.60 for 'excess miles'.
So what we have here, then, is the alternate reality where you can pay for and have documentation to the effect of vehicle hire with unlimited miles, and the EASIDIOTS just ignore that and whack your obligatory credit card with whatever they like anyway. That's theft. That's fraud. That's deceit. That's dishonest. That's dreadful. That's normal. That's EASIRENT.
BUYER BEWARE. NEVER EVER USE THESE CROOKS.
Won’t use Easi Rent again ever.
We arrived and had to wait 30 mins to be collected from airport as agent was dealing with another customer. Taken about 3 miles to Easi Rent booking office Requested voucher and proof of address documents. Which we had over looked never had these requested when hiring a car before. Could provide these in my wife ( who was with me) name but had to be in the drivers name also had to be a UTILITIES bill ( all bills in wife’s name) !! And these days most people have utilities online and paperless! Was told we had booked through a 3rd party Car Jet in SPAIN no less and that was why we needed proof of address? So had to pay an extra £75 on top of the £45 we had paid for 3 days rental! This was for insurance I believe. (One way for agent to make commission???) (We already have an excess policy) We we’re told we could go and hire elsewhere and they would take us back to the airport to do so. However we would have lost our £45 payment. We needed to get on our way ASAP so paid the £75. It is not clear purchasing on CARJET you are using an agent in SPAIN. I personally think Easi Rent are being a little manipulative and could have accepted my wife’s documents, but just wanted to make extra money. Once you’re in the rental office in another country, they’ve got you. They know there is unlikely to be any other rentals cheaper locally on the day and you’ve already paid so they’ve got you over a barrel. It ruined what should have been a lovely weekend meeting our new grandson. Note to self make sure to book through a well known company next time who won’t take you for a ride.
Two Stars is being generous.
The only good points about my hire were the (apparent!) price when booking online and the gentleman at Belfast was very polite and friendly even in the face of my obvious disenchantment with the whole process.
On arrival at Belfast International Airport we phoned as instructed, we were told where to wait for the minibus to the hire depot. We stood in the freezing wind for 40 minutes with 3 other hirers, all becoming increasingly frustrated and cold by the minute. Eventually we were picked up (by a very rude and surly driver) and taken to the depot.
Upon doing the paperwork I was the informed that I could either take out extra insurance (this was NOT made clear when I booked online) or pay a £1,500!! deposit by credit card. This to be refunded, if the car came back unblemished, taking up to 27!! days to reach my account. In other words we were being backed up against a wall and made to fork out for extra insurance. I do not take kindly to sharp practises and being cornered in any circumstances and I am still livid at the whole process.
All in all a thoroughly disagreeable process and I will not be using this company again.
Complaint
I wrote a letter of complaint to this company in November about being conned into paying twice for a booking and I have had absolutely no reply. I will never use them again and I suggest you don't as they cannot be trusted. I wrote: I was given the incorrect information by Steve at Belfast International airport and overcharged on Saturday 13th November. When I arrived at the pickup point the first thing he said was, "You don't want to leave a £1500 deposit do you, especially if you don't have to?" He continued, "Did you just book this today? The thing is you see I need to see all these documents which you won't have with you, and I can't give you the car unless I do. If you call them, you see it is a Spanish Brooker. You did not book through Easirent. There is one thing I can do for you. If you change over to us, you can have the car for £95 with no deposit". I asked if that was on top of what I had already paid, and he said no (obviously incorrect). He explained that I had to inform them that I took their policy and I had 14 days to cancel theirs. He said he could take me back to the airport and I asked what I was supposed to do then. I made it clear when I arrived, I was there for a funeral and obviously wasn't going to go back. I got my phone out to cancel the booking and he said, "No, don't cancel it now, you have 14 days to do that duck and I can let you have the car now." He said, "It's no problem you have 14 days from now, so if you could do me a favour duck and sign this, I can get it sorted." I asked what where the terms of this rental and he quickly read something from the machine and asked me to sign it. I remarked that he must get a lot of this from the rental site I used, and he replied that they get all sorts from different Brookers. He took advantage of my situation, he mis-informed and I get the impression this is a regular scam between companies. When checking over the car he said everything was fine because I had the 'Relax Pro'. I have no idea what that is. I pointed out some scratches etc on the car and he said he could put them on the form if I wanted although it didn't matter because I had the 'Relaxed Pro'. At this stage I was running very late so took him at his word and left. If this complaint is not dealt with as an urgent matter and my money refunded quickly, I will take this further. I am absolutely appalled by this, and people have a right to know about such practises
Worst car rental experience ever
Worst car rental experience ever! Too busy to pick us up at Belfast International Airport! We paid for a taxi ourselves to get there and told us you'll just have to wait! Tried to palm us off with an additional charge of £45 CDW (although our voucher clearly said this was included, verified on phone by VIP cars). Exceptionally rude and unhelpful people! DO NOT USE!!! Got a car from Budget within 10 mins of getting back to terminal (by another taxi we had to pay for! Spoke to other rental users who said cars were wrecks.
