Title: Rude, ineffective, and patronising – a company that charges but doesn’t solve

I hired Dyno-Rod in April 2025 to inspect a blocked ensuite bathroom. Despite paying their £50 investigation fee, the attending engineer failed to identify the cause of the issue, provided no formal report or recommendations, and left the problem entirely unresolved. I received no communication or quote afterwards, just silence.

Out of necessity, I later hired an independent drainage specialist who correctly diagnosed a fundamental installation fault that Dyno had completely overlooked. I then submitted a formal complaint, supported by evidence, only to be ignored for weeks until I chased them myself.

Eventually, my case was picked up by Mr Asghar, whose tone throughout our exchange was condescending, rude, and frankly insulting. Rather than addressing the substance of my concerns, he implied that I was only pursuing a refund because I was desperate for the £50, as if this matter were insignificant to anyone of financial means. Ironically, I’m a seasoned property investor with a portfolio of homes, and his assumption couldn’t have been further from the truth.

This was never about the money. It was and remains about principle, accountability, and basic professionalism, all of which Dyno-Rod consistently failed to demonstrate.

In the end, I did receive a refund, but only after significant effort on my part and in the face of dismissiveness that bordered on contempt.

Dyno-Rod’s conduct has been wholly unprofessional from start to finish. If you’re looking for a competent, respectful, and solution-oriented service, I strongly suggest you take your business elsewhere.

I had an issue with a blocked toilet and the guy who turned up and dealt with it was surpurb. I had been so stressed snd he resolved it by using a water blast into the outside pipe vua the drain. All because if a rusted tent peg!

They were very quick to arrange an appointment for a rat issue we have in the drain. Steve who came was incredibly helpful and explained what our issue was clearly and quickly and helped with the next steps. We were given a call 20 minutes prior to his arrival and on the morning of our appointment to confirm.

The DynoRod office responded rapidly and effectively to our need for a drain to be unblocked. A same day appointment was given and costs clearly stated. The DynoRod operator called 10 minutes before the agreed time and arrived when expected. The problem was approached logically and professionally and despite unexpected difficulties the drain was unblocked within an hour. The operative was skilled and kept us informed of progress. A very satisfactory experience.

Great service. Booked in late on Thursday, arrived Friday and problem solved within 10 minutes. Professional and friendly. No fuss. Would highly recommend and will use again if needed.

Always very happy with the service of the Dyno professionals. Communication is good, they arrive when they say, they explain what the issue is and how they will deal with it, carry out the work and are polite and respectful.
I haven’t compared their prices with other companies but they seem very reasonable.

I called the company at about 8pm on a Thursday evening for an emergency plumber. No plumber arrived that evening so I telephoned again on Friday morning. I am giving 4 stars as communication on the Thursday evening wasn’t great. The plumber who came this morning was excellent - very professional, helpful and friendly. Would give him 5 stars.

The plumber did a really good job clearing the blockage. He was very respectful of the property and cleared up the mess entirely.

I am so glad I chose to use DynoRod instead of anyone else. I have a rodent issue, I called DynoRoad for a CTTV drain survey. They came, inspected the issue, found that the problem was coming from a shared drain in my garden and said I didn’t need the drain survey. They charged me £50 for coming and recommended I contact local water authorities as it is their responsibility.

The “no call out charge and free quote” is misleading. What it doesn’t tell you on the website is that you have to pay £50 for an engineer to come and do an “investigation”, which is basically a call out charge in disguise. In my case, I had sewage smell in my house but they sent an engineer that just does blockages and not smells so I had to pay £50 for him to tell me there were no obvious signs of a blockage (which of course I knew as that wasn’t the problem in the first place) and that a CCTV survey was recommended for £175! Feel like I’ve just wasted £50. Disappointing from Dyno Rod.
