I made the mistake of ordering delivery…
I made the mistake of ordering delivery through Dollar General today. Do yourself a favor and avoid it at all costs. The delivery driver didn’t know where he was going, also he told me that something was not available so it wasn’t delivered. So I went to the store to see my unavailable item sitting at the counter. And when I tried to talk to the Dollar General employee about it she didn’t want to know a damn thing. She blamed DoorDash. I had no idea when I placed the delivery that it was coming through DoorDash. The DoorDash driver did not follow directions. I had to drive around my building and I found him outside wandering around after being given detailed directions. Now Dollar General is telling me that I didn’t actually pay for the item that wasn’t delivered but my bank account says differently. It’s the worst delivery experience I’ve ever had. Just don’t do it.

If I could give them a lower rating, I would. Then you complained that the corporate office and never get a call back. That’s how much they care about their customers. Dollar General is a dollar short and a day late. Terrible place.
Worst store ever
Worst store ever. Rude staff. Approached Anna, for items advertised in store, was told items on website wont match what's in the store.
Asked about a price and was told to scan it myself on my phone. Not sure how to even do that. Are they going to pay my data rates, if they expect customers to use their phone for something we have no idea how to do it?
The salesperson seemed very inconvenienced when asked to help me. I almost just walked out. It seems stocking shelves comes above helping customers. Yet, they advertise family, friendly first.

When trying to sign in
When trying to sign in, it expects me to review the 16 min. read "privacy policy" as well as the 22 min. read "terms & conditions". Then after I sign in and try to clip a coupon, it knocks me back out and I have to start all over. Again, the privacy policy and the terms & conditions! Then, it decides to lock me out and wants me to try back in 20 mins.

Store always this . Even wal mart puts limits on Pokemon cards . I talked with three different people including manager none of them care . I’m pretty sure they just hold them back for him .
Prices Listed On Shelf Are Not What You Pay
Pay very close attention when your items are being rung up at the register and speak up when you see an incorrect price come up. I know it's "only 30 cents" but consider how many other people are being charged that extra money as well.
Dollar General was sued by the State of Missouri in September of 2023 for deceptive pricing tactics: charging more at the register than the shelf tag says. Finally, in December 2025, they were ordered to pay people back and correct their prices, so this is a real issue.
Like many other people, I don't like shopping there but shop there out of necessity. Just be aware and don't let them steal from you. Hopefully they will improve from here on out, but I caught two more incorrect prices just yesterday, in March 2026, 90 cents worth in total, and made them correct it at the register even though there were people behind me in line. I will not let them get away with it. Buyer beware.
Poor customer service
I went into your store in Sierra Vista AZ store #2682 and as I was checking out I needed some help since you have only self checkouts and heaven forbid that they would open one of those registers. Needless to say she was the rudest person I have ever met. She had a very flippant attitude and I am amazed she still has a job since I can’t be the only one she has been rude too.
Bad app
I don’t understand why we need an app just to get a deal. The app barely works, and the coupons seem to apply randomly, if at all. I’ve had multiple situations where I followed the rules, had the correct items, and the coupons still didn’t apply at checkout.
When I asked employees for help, they told me there was nothing they could do even when I showed them the app and the coupons that were supposed to work. No explanation, no solution, just “we can’t fix it.” That’s incredibly frustrating.
At this point, it feels less like a way to save money and more like an excuse to collect personal information like phone numbers without actually delivering on the promised deals.
Overall, the experience is unreliable and disappointing. If you’re going to require customers to use an app for discounts, it should at least work consistently.

I don't need discounts or coupons.
I frequent store number 9711 since there is no grocery stores in my small town.
I've never reviewed "any" department store or their employees. I'm always polite but not easily impressed. I go in a store, purchase what I need and leave.
I just wanted to recognize Quinton at this store. He always greeted me from the register when I walk in, even when he's busy at the register. When I check out, he again asked how my day was and if I found everything I needed.
After about the 4th time this happened, "over a couple of months", I complimented him on his positive attitude. I'm sure that I'm not the only customer to notice. DG needs more employees like Quinton at store #9711. Maybe you could offer him a position as a trainer. For me to take the time to leave this review, He's worthy.

Store 10192 in Muskegon Michigan the cashier said her name was raven when I asked. She had zero customer service skills did not welcome customers coming in and didn’t not bother to speak with us while checking out (two separate transactions) while my daughter was checking out in front of me the cashier stuck her hands down the back of her pants to scratch her ass then proceed to continue scanning items. Thankfully we carry wipes with us and wiped the items down ourselves. She did not even acknowledge me and I had to say hi hello how you doing multiple times for her to even speak. Dirty looks and grunting the whole time. This store in general has always had meh staff but she was the worst as the manager just stood there not saying anything when this girls hand was down her pants. Very likely I will just go to one of the other 50 locations in town from now on

Being only 1.1 miles from home, it's fine for a quick run. Although they don't always have what you need, it's close. My wife picked up a gallon of whole milk on 03/09/2026. Expiration date of 03/22/2026. Just opened it on 03/10/2026. Now, as a person who drinks a minimum of 1 gallon a week, I know milk, this gallon had set out and gotten warm before they put it in the cooler, when ya know, ya know. I've experienced this issue at different stores. This is the first, last and only milk bought at DG. Sorry, Farmington Rd. Peoria

Store items are always placed in different spots and I continue to be overcharged. This happens too often! It seems like too often the items hanging where the label tags are named and price differently that's what's there. I don't say anything half the time but comee ooon! The new manager is NOT friendly and doesn't really care by her actions, even today. ONE item was overpriced by $6. When mentioned, the manager was annoyed.
I watched her walk away from a customer that trying to communicate with her! He was left standing there with issue unresolved. This is sooo sad! I HAVE to go elsewhere now. Where did the humanity and customer service go.

Every single Saturday I get the same items and use digital coupons. I also use the 5 dollars off a 25 dollar or more order. None of the coupons were working. So instead of manually changing the price I was told I had the option to remove the items. 😆 So then because of that I didn't get the 5 dollar off coupon because the order fell below 25 dollars. The last time this happened at a different location and they manually adjusted the price. Either fix your coupon system or get rid of it. Or make sure u train every employee to manually adjust the price if the coupon isn't working.
