Dobbies Garden Centres - Gillingham Recensioni 469

I purchased a garden set of furniture from Dobbies spending over two thousand pounds. Even thou it had been covered each winter, after three years it has fallen apart. Customer services said as it was out of warranty they couldn't do anything. I would suggest to anyone buying furniture to avoid rattan as it's not build to last.

Visited Wednesday returned today, Friday. What a disaster. It was a mess. Rose William and Catherine had a weed in the pot bigger than the rose,. Roses which needed dead heading looked nearly dead. Hardly a good advert for a garden centre.

Toilet's are dirty and one hand dryer out of 3 work

The waiting time at the Coffeee shop is excessive!
ONCE you get to be served, the staff are very pleasant and are working hard!

We were shown quite promptly to a table, as restaurant was fairly empty apart from 4 members of staff who were more interested in catching a bird.
We then sat and waited for 20 minutes until someone appeared to take the order. She had to take it on a notepad and then transfer to computer as shortage of electronic order pads. We did not get our Dobbies points. There were 4 other tables waiting for more than 20 minutes to place their order and one couple walked out in frustration.

We purchased a patio corner suit and table and received it in 2020 April, very happy BUT... after 3 years, and two weeks out of warranty the rattan weave on the table started to split, went to the store who referred us to their main office. After some email tennis they Gave us £100 as a goodwill gesture. They also told us who the manufacturer was,who were pretty unhelpful. The splits got worse over the summer. We covered the set up over winter. We uncovered it to find the weave had totally split all the way on one side of the table. Phoned up the manufacturer again who didn't want to know. Since then our seating has started to split so after just 4 years our £1000 garden set is rendered useless.
We are always in dobbies so we looked at the sets in store...ours is still on sale but the rattan weave is so much thicker than ours. Not sure what to do, any ideas please.

Pleasant atmosphere, knowledgeable assistants, nice restaurant with friendly staff.

Went to the gillingham centre today for breakfast which I can only describe as disgusting ordered scrambled eggs it arrived cold and contained an extra ingredient of black bits and tasted horrendous after asking the waitress to assess the food she agreed that it was cold and substandard she then replaced the meal with an exact replica of what had been returned except an extra helping of black bits I left the restaurant in disgust

Great garden centre and range of plants but the restaurant/ cafe has been transformed into a chaotic waste of space.
We were planning to have some lunch but found a queue of at least 7 couples / families waiting for a table, although there were many empty tables. We opted for the cafe, although no lunch menu was displayed. Toasted sandwiches ordered, we then had to wait at counter for these rather than being offered to them being delivered to our table. Sandwiches were served on small plate with no salad garnish, crisps etc and quite dry. Not great value at £5.20 each.
In amongst family diners, children and elderly guests were several people with pet dogs. This didn’t feel right in an indoor seating area.
The food and drink at this Dobbies used to be top notch but since the major revamp at Gillingham it has become a disorganised affair with the food quality deteriorated.
I don’t plan to return for anything more than my free coffee after this visit.

We went to Dobbies for Sunday lunch on 24th March. It was absolutely delicious 😋. I think it was £13.50, worth every penny. All cooked fresh, no frozen vegetables no pre-cooked meat, home made Yorkshire pudding. The staff could not have been better. Five star! Well done! We will be back. Thank you 🙏

The queue at the coffee and cake counter at the Gillingham Branch of Dobbies this afternoon was ridiculously long. Two people working on it were totally overwhelmed. I queued for half an hour! 2.45 until 3.15. More people need to work on the counter. They have made the restaurant smaller and put lunch and an oven on the coffee counter. They cannot cope. Dobbies need to seriously examine their staffing of this area. A member of staff was looking forward to getting out of ‘the hell hole’.

The new serving arrangement at Gillingham, Kent is dreadful - it means that the queue and waiting time is now worse (crossing over the toilet access and people trying to get into toilets is a problem due to the queue) and serving slower. It's not clear where you need to go for either the self service or restaurant (waiting staff). Having to walk through a lot of seated people with our Father in a wheelchair to the restaurant was not fun at all. Very limited space for anything else, other than loads of people.

Service was very slow for everything, food not that good anymore, value for money is very poor. Very expensive.

Always a happy place and people very helpful.

Did not resolve my problem

I was doing okay and then I noticed the reduced price plants but was confused as they were not all reduced , some of the plants were full price and some had no price on them

The staff here are second to none and do an amazing job the food is great and so is the soft play I would recommend the membership 15 pound a year is a bargain

Absolute rubbish, Click and Collect doesn't tell you how long it will take. Confirmation email doesn't give any information if I should wait for another email confirming it's ready for collection. Also absolutely nothing on their support page in the c&c section. After calling the shop they have no idea if I will get another email, but after putting me on hold they recommend I wait an extra day just in case, without even asking me for my order number. Also the website is rubbish, I have no option to even cancel my order as I am already fed up with the service received and this is sure to be my first and last order with them!
