What made the experience brilliant was the person that helped us make the purchase. From the start he helped us find the sofa and explained everything. It made buying the sofas very easy. Ten out of ten.

Had a great experience looking for a new sofa, we were left alone to browse and no pressure or hard sell when asking advice, when I came to ordering there were lots of options explained to us and all the details were doubled check.

We sorted things in the Chester store and purchased a new suite. We used an insurance credit from Guardsman as part of the payment. This was checked and accepted as correct. I was waiting to receive a delivery date for my new furniture but a week later on Sunday afternoon I received a text from DFS demanding a payment of £773 before they would send it to the supplier. The amount was the insurance part of the order and had already been checked and authorised in the Chester store.
I was on the phone for over 3 hours trying to sort things out on that Sunday afternoon but got nowhere.
I contacted DFS on Monday and still got nowhere and demanded to speak with the Chester Manager. Later on Monday he did phone me and even though it was him that sorted things out originally he said I had to send the insurance mandate from Guardsman by E-mail so they could sort it out.
I said they already had it and took a copy of it when I was in the store but he still insisted before he was willing to sort things out.
During all of this DFS head office blamed Chester and Vhester blamed Head office. All I know is I have had a Sunday and Monday ruined with lots of stress and it was no fault of mine but my delivery has been held up for another 3 weeks after the promise when booking that we would receive it within 2 weeks.
I have not received an apology for what has happened and I have actually been made to feel it was my fault. Over the last 20 years this is the 4th suite I have purchased from DFS but after this experience this wi be my last.
I am still waiting for my furniture to be delivered and have been told it will be Al least another 2 weeks.
I am disgusted at the way I have been treated and hope you let others know of this so they can be fully advised before they decide to shop at DFS.
11-17-2026. DFS have replied to my review and don't have a clue. The furniture I chose was in the warehouse in the colour I chose and ready for immediate delivery (I was told I would receive it within 2 weeks) DFS have said it was a technical problem that caused the unnecessary message to me on a Sunday afternoon demanding payment but this is not correct as everything was checked during my visit to the shop including the Insurance Mandate from Guardsman. There were no problems with anything and I was told I would receive my new furniture within 2 weeks. The fact that DFS have stated the problem was resolved and my furniture was put in to be manufactured just shows they don't have a clue and wil say anything as the furniture was ready for immediate delivery as I was told by the Chester Manager. I looks to me that they will say anything that does not make them look bad but believe me they made a huge mistake and don't want to admit it. By the way I am still waiting for my furniture and the last message was it would be a further 2 weeks. I was offered a delivery for the 29th but I am at a conference and they said because I refused the date I would have to wait. Customer service at it's best ( Not )

Great experience choosing our new sofa.. we looked around three other shops but found our perfect sofa in dfs. Very happy with the service and now we were all treated as a family

Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Information I received was appropriate to my needs. Felt I wasn't being rushed or pushed to make a purchase. Ten out of ten for service and attention. Can't fault anything.
