Professional

Daryl Flood Relocation staff and moving crew were and continue to be professional, courteous and respectful. We moved out of a rental home and into the Flood storage with no problems. Any move is only as good as the crew working the move. Our moving crew was motivated to do a good job and they succeeded. When we had to access our stored items, access was easy. We are preparing for the next phase, move out of storage and into our new home.

Very happy with all aspects of our move

From the packers, to the driver who supervised and communicated with us throughout the process, to the crew that unloaded the van, and even the crew that later picked up the used boxes etc., everyone was very professional, friendly and competent. Everything was thoughtfully packed, loaded, and delivered promptly. Couldn't have asked for a better experience.

Best move ever!

As a seasoned federal employee with almost 30 years of service, I have move many times in my career - once to and from Europe. Daryl Flood made my move the very best experience of all out of all those years and moves.
They were on schedule, took very good care of my household items, and delivered about 15K pounds with less than $500 in damages - and those were very, very slight damages indeed.
They promptly settled my little insignificant claim, and I very highly recommend them!

Overall pleased with service, lacking a little in communication

I was assigned Daryl Flood through Mayflower, and I was satisfied after reading their good reviews. Overall I was very satisfied with the end product-- they moved my things when they said they would for the price they promised and everything showed up in good condition. However, at times I did feel like I was left hanging by my moving coordinator. I was told by my coordinator that she would call me the day before they came to pick up my stuff to inform me of the time window. After not hearing from my coordinator by the late afternoon, I called her. I got her voicemail, which said she was on vacation. It told me who I could call in her absence, so I called them and got what I needed, but I was very disappointed that nobody called me... it just felt at the time like nobody was looking out for me. I was also told the movers would call within 30 minutes of their arrival, but they never did and just showed up. They did an excellent job packing. I was then called by the back-up coordinator and told that my coordinator would call me on Monday with tracking, but I didn't actually hear from her until Wednesday until I contacted her. Then I kept checking my tracking on My Mayflower, and when I asked my coordinator about it she said the information she had was different and more reliable. Why in the world would she have different and more reliable information?! If that were online I wouldn't feel like I needed constant updates from her, which I wasn't getting. On the day of delivery, I was given a window of 8-10, and they didn't show up until 11:30. I had tried contacting my coordinator while I waited to see what the deal was but she never got back with me. To sum up, it all turned out great, but my initial moving specialist made me feel very comfortable like they'd hold my hand throughout the process, as it was a very new and scary thing for me, which didn't end up happening, and I felt pretty anxious the whole time because I just wasn't given much information along the way.

Didn't do as promised

I chose Daryl Flood because when the salesman came out and gave me the quote, we discussed how I didn't want our things to be loaded from the house, unloaded into storage, loaded back into a truck and unloaded into the new house. He assured me that it would be put in vaults that would be put into storage then put into a truck and delivered to our house. When it all arrived to the new house it was not in vaults but had been unloaded from them and loaded into a truck to be unloaded at the house. This was exactly what I was trying to avoid so that there would be less chance of damage. I was very disappointed about this. I also did not have a great experience with the person who was communicating with me about dates/times of when our things would arrive at the new location. She was very difficult to get in touch with and took a long time to respond when I emailed or called her.

We understand communication is key in delivering a Daryl Flood Dependable move experience. Excellent

All of the guys were great - very responsive and attentive to the particular requirements of the move. I really only needed 3 guys, but they sent 5, just to make sure. The pre-move survey was very thorough & they answered all of our questions.

great job everyone

We moved from Texas to buffalo new York in january. Not something I liked to do but the guys who moved my household everything did it without a complaint. And it was snowing and so cold about 12 out. We even had to ask to get our stuff out of storage in texas sooner than we thought and they made that happen. So a big thank you to everyone involved in our move.

Cross County Move

We were very disappointed in the Daryl Flood Relocation and their support of our move. Decided to use a large nationally affiliated mover for this cross country move even though they were not the lowest price.
Packing prior to move: Packers were friendly and showed up on time but did a very bad job packing artwork as several pieces were damaged due to poor packing. Also did not group items together which made setting up new residence difficult.
Driver and movers: Showed up late. Driver smelled like an old ashtray. Movers were very sloppy about grouping needed items together, such as the legs for the bed frame. Was told that the movers would help reposition some furniture in house when items being moved were out. They only agreed after the driver paid them extra. Resulted in many phone calls back and forth with Jayson and Daryl Flood office and left a very bad impression of the company and of their staff.
Move in -- California: Movers left the bed frame on the floor because they could not find the bed frame legs. Expectation was that we would find the legs and then let the driver know so they could be installed. After the legs were found, we called the driver as instructed and he never responded to calls. Only resolved after we called D.F. office and Jayson to complain. They also delivered an item that did not belong to us, which was later picked up. We also had damage to some very expensive furniture.

Have not yet submitted a damage claim but expect that process to be as difficult as the move.

Would never use D.F or Mayflower moving company again and definitely would not recommend.

Terrible

Started with packers showing up late and only one lady. I had a 4300 sq ft home and one lady shows up. An older man shows up at lunch, they are unable to remove pictures off if wall, which was quoted. They called in a third party which tried to charge me. Many thing were left unpacked when movers showed up they had to pack which was a rush job. They worked until 8pm and after they left I found seven boxes they failed to load. I have been moved many times as my husband was Army this was by far the worst experience ever. The person that originally quoted me said if I pack more than I said I would he would credit me. I packed much more but no credit was issued. The auto docusign is dangerous as lotto much fine print that he did not tell me he just said sign. It seems that one you received my credit card information you could at will charge more without notifying me which happened. The delivery truck unloaded and was in hurry to make next delivery. Crated slate for my pool table was left in garage when third party showed up to un crate them they said they were not suppose to carry upstairs. Driver should have known that and took them upstairs and told that. My credit card was charged $115 for that which I disputed but you still charged my card. I had furniture busted and many important times shattered that cannot be replaced as they were purchased in Egypt or like my grandmothers dishes. My shipment was stored in your warehouse many boxes were damaged when driver loaded for delivery. They were in such a mess he even took pictures and sent to Marivele to alert her of the mess. No one has apologized or even came to my home for an assessment from Mayflower. A furniture repair person came this week but he is a third party. I will never recommend using the Daryl a Flood Mayflower ever.

Terrible service, unresponsive staff, don't use!

Awful packing job (clothes were a mess). Put a hole through my big screen tv AND tried to cover it up, broke our king size bed frame, broke a lamp. Need I say more? I could but I don't want to waste any more of my time.

Careless

Terrible experience. Most of my high end furniture was damaged. The delivery guy that did the most damage to my items even had the nerve to tell me, "you can't even tell where I glued this back together"!! Clearly he was just incompetent to think it acceptable. I regret having chose this company.

Started out fairly good and went downhill.

The packing was terrible. Many things were broken. Family heirlooms were broken even though I pointed out the need for special handling. All electronic cords, wiring and remotes were packed in one box. I had just buried my husband of 47 years and had no idea where each device went with what. Furniture drawers were stuffed so full of paper that I still can't get them open for fear of breaking them. There is more but I digress. I told Jason Statton this up front and he promised everything would be kept with the right pieces. Much of my furniture was scuffed up. On the day we unloaded, the driver pealed the sticker off the damaged furniture. When I started to fill out the damage report I discovered I needed those stickers with the number on them. They also damaged my front load washer. It had a crushed place on the top on one corner in the front. I've used Darrel Flood since the mid 1980's and Jason Statton was always the estimate person. He was always great and still was this time. I can't say the same for the moving crew. I'm really dissappointed with what I got for the money I paid. I'm considering a complaint to the BBB. Needless to say I will never recommend them again.

Efficient, careful, conscientious, and friendly.

This is a review following packing, but, really, what more can we say? We expect the same level of work when unpacking at our destination. Besides, how cool is it that the "Mayflower" is moving a genealogist and her husband, a scientist? Books? Yes, we're talking a huge number of books, mostly of the reference type. After packing so many boxes of books ourselves, it was a relief watching the packers do short work of the rest of them, not to mention all the rest of our belongings, including an elkhorn from the fireplace mantel. Thank you, Mayflower and Daryl Flood!

Excellent customer service while in Texas but.......

Once we made it to the east coast destination customer service was sketchy with a hard to reach agent leading to uncertainty and frustration. Boxes arrived in worse condition than expected. However there was no serious damage done to belongings.

My belongings arrived to the destination, many of which left in better condition than they arrived.

My belongings were moved from Texas to Indiana . They arrived as scheduled, and I was updated by the driver regularly. Everything was held in storage for 3 months. As we moved from storage to the new house, I found many things damaged. Large appliances that you wouldn't think to plug in and check right off the truck....legs on couches, broken pictures, mirrors, glassware that was packed by the movers. I was slightly disappointed by the care taken for my belongings.
In summary, the driver was pleasant and reliable, and kept me informed. The people they hired to pack and load were not of great quality.
