In 1958, my grandfather, John Conran, opened The House of Stella (named after my grandmother Stella) It was Bristol's first dedicated Carpet shop. It was based in the newly built Broadmead shopping center, where Debenhams was. He was a pioneer, being the first to sell the new 'Broadloom' carpets, allowing customers to have wall-to-wall fitted carpets. Previously, only 'carpet squares loose-fitted ' were available. Later in 1960, my father opened what was to become a Bristol institution, Regency Carpets Showrooms, a four-story carpet superstore, only next door to where The House of Stella used to be. He went on to open two additional shops, Windsor Carpets and Kensington Carpets, in which he served Bristol for the next 40 years. It wasn't until the landlord wanted the building back to convert it into flats and refused to renew the lease that my father decided to retire. Having served my time at Regency for 27 years, in 2018, I established Conran Carpets Ltd., named in my grandfather's honour, continuing a family legacy spanning 70 years in floor covering. When you purchase flooring from Conran Carpets Ltd, you are helping support and are a part of a family legacy of flooring knowledge, spanning seven decades. This flooring knowledge has helped Conran Carpets Ltd achieve the accolade of the highest-rated flooring shop in the South West; in fact, we were chosen by BBC's Newsnight for that very reason to feature on a program they were doing on the local economic climate. Thank you to all my wonderful customers for your continued support. Allowing me to continue doing something I love. John De Pedro-Sewell MD, Conran Carpets Ltd

Conran carpets is situated along Bristol's famous Gloucester Rd and I've bought LVT flooring from them twice. John the proprieter and his staff are outstandingly helpful and informative. The store stocks a wide range of different flooring and if John hasn't got what you want, he'll search for it. Cannot praise them enough, including the two fitters, James and Craig
