Lovely online shopping experience with the personal touch - highly recommended

I ordered a gift for Sunday (Father's Day) just minutes away from Thurs 3 pm delivery deadline posted on their website.... and they have it delivered as promised, on Saturday night!

It kickstarted a wonderful Father's Day, thank you Chris and team.

I’ve used Collated.com to order online and the whole experience has been really smooth and great. Communication was excellent, much better than with bigger stores where you usually only get automated emails. I was kept updated throughout the order process, including when it was shipped, and really appreciated the more human and personal touch.

I also appreciated the competitive pricing and the range available. I was looking for a specific True Grace fragrance which is usually difficult to find, even in physical stores, so it was great to find it there.

Delivery was quick and overall the purchase experience felt far more personal than with most larger chains. It’s also a small independent business, which I think deserves to be supported and rewarded, especially when they offer such a great customer and online experience.

COLLATED have an on-line business where the returns policy states that refunds are available for purchases other than underwear and sealed products which is understandable. However, having recently made a purchase in one of their physical shops which, as it turns out, displays a very small (and I mean ¼ A4 size notice sellotaped on the back of the till) notice that refunds are not given – only credit notes or exchanges. This was not pointed out at the time of purchase.
Therefore beware purchasing from this company’s shops of which there are 3 in Suffolk’s tourist areas. This means that most customers would probably not be able to return to browse to use a credit note or select an exchange item thus making it even more frustrating.
In our case, in the morning, we made a £60 purchase which was neither underwear nor sealed product, indeed it was not a clothing item at all. We later found that there was a poorly designed element which caused distortion of the shape when used and in any case there were buckles located irritatingly just against the armpit. We therefore decided to return it in the afternoon.
It was then that we were informed of the ‘no refund’ policy unless it was faulty. I eventually spoke to the owner by phone who would not accept that the item was faulty and accused us of merely having changed our minds. He flatly refused a refund.
This was despite the website stating 'You can focus your energy on other things without ever having to worry about your purchase'. There was also the ubiquitous back story of their 5 years in business - Well if they carry on with this attitude and lack of goodwill, that may not continue much longer.
