Our apologies for the lateness of this review, we moved into our new home on September 29, 2025. Unfortunately, we had a number of personal issues and weren't able to provide a review earlier, but we want to emphasize that our experience and interactions with the Sales Office Team was absolutely outstanding! In particular our interactions with Kamila cannot be praised highly enough. She was super friendly, warm, empathetic, supportive and understanding. She went the extra mile for us when we were facing delays from our bank and our solicitors, she liaised between us and Chestnut Homes’ Head Office! As a result, they were very patient with us, regarding our particular situation. Sylvia also deserves another special mention for her support and professionalism during our closing, while Kamila was on vacation. Additionally, the Site Manager also dealt with the deficiencies that were present at the time of closing. The Sales Team are the customers' first point of contact and as such Kamila and her team have done Chestnut Homes Proud.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Outstanding support from Kamila – truly above and beyond
I cannot praise Kamila highly enough for the incredible support she provided throughout the purchase of my first home. From start to finish, Kamila was the focal point of my journey and an absolute constant source of reassurance, guidance, and encouragement. She consistently went above and beyond, showing genuine care, kindness, and patience at every stage of the process.
As a first-time buyer, there were moments that felt overwhelming, but Kamila always took the time to explain things clearly, check in regularly, and make sure I felt supported and confident. Her professionalism, warmth, and attention to detail made a huge difference, and it was clear that she genuinely cared about helping me achieve this milestone.
Kamila is a real credit to the team and clearly sets a high standard for customer care — her support made a meaningful difference to my overall experience.
I would also like to acknowledge Sylvia, who was extremely helpful and supportive throughout this time. Sylvia and Kamila work exceptionally well as a team and consistently ensured that when one of them was unavailable, the other would follow up with me promptly. This demonstrated excellent communication, continuity, and a genuine commitment to providing outstanding customer care.
Kamila was truly the heart of this experience and the main pillar of support throughout my purchase.

I just wanted to say a massive thank you to Kamila for making the whole process of buying a house at Millers Walk, Chestnut Homes so simple, quick and efficient. From initial enquiry all the way through to completion, nothing was ever too much. Kamila was happy to work around my work schedule, even coming in on days off to help. The specification of the property was exceptional, and I was really impressed with the finish. Even after moving, Chestnut stayed in touch to make sure everything was to my liking, even dropping round extra paint after I clumsily damaged a wall moving furniture. Can’t recommend Chestnut Homes, Kamila, Helene and her team enough. 5 stars from me!
Simply an exceptional experience!
As a first time and solo buyer, the prospect of going through the most significant purchase I've ever made was beyond daunting.
Fortunately, I've had the pleasure of doing it with Chestnut Homes.
Rachel and Tracy were kind, approachable, and supportive throughout the entire process. All the way from arranging a viewing to completion, they have been nothing short of exceptional; answering any questions I may have, keeping me well-informed with my purchase, and generally being a welcoming presence.
The quality of my home is astonishing. We have all heard the horror stories of buying new- not the case with Chestnut Homes- structurely and cosmetically, not a single thing was out of place.
The aftercare has too been faultless. The very few issues that I have encountered with the appliances were rectified, enthusiasticly, by the fantastic customer service team within a week.
I genuinely have nothing but positive things to say about Chestnut Homes. Thank you.

So very happy to be in my new home and home is the right word. It feels like I have always lived here, and I love it.
It took a little while to sell my house and I had a few times when I didn't think I'd get here, but Rachel was a wonderful support right from the start.
She kept in touch regularly and was as determined as I was that I would finally get the house I wanted.
And it wasn't the house I thought I'd buy, but one even better!
Thank you Rachel for being so lovely and patient and I would thoroughly recommend Chestnut homes - I've had a great experience.
A shout out for Tracy too, who I only met once but was equally as lovely.

Rubbish company & Shambolic Management
It’s a shame you can’t give minus stars! They make you pay a maintenance charge which is supposed to go to keeping the estates nice. We’ve had dead trees and plants around for a couple of years now which should be replaced under the conditions of "their" contract! Trying to get them or Lambert Smith Hampton to do anything is impossible. Our so called "Property Manager" doesn’t know how to press reply on an email. These companies shouldn’t be allowed to operate. Anyone reading this please keep clear of Chestnut Homes, save yourselves the pain!
Fabulous new home, and exceptional quality
We have bought a wonderful Amberfield home and absolutely love everything about it. We especially appreciate all the premium extras included in the spec. We used the part exchange scheme with Spring and both companies worked quickly and seamlessly together, getting us into our new home in record time.
We appreciated the use of digital technology used by their solicitors as we were able to upload everything quickly and securely, so avoiding trips backwards and forwards.
We would particularly like to give a special shout out to our Sales Advisor Kamila who is an absolute gem! Kamila relentlessly pushed things forward on our behalf and kept us fully in the picture at every stage. Nothing is too much trouble, clearly takes pride in doing an excellent job, and always done with enthusiasm and a smile!
We cannot fault the quality of Chestnut Homes and their standard of customer care, and we recommend them wholeheartedly.

Avoid!! Take Your Money, and Go Elsewhere!
Beware! I have previously considered Chestnut Homes to be a reputable company within Lincolnshire - however since I became a Chestnut Homes homeowner, the experience has been disastrous.
We moved in on 31st October 2024 - we reported on 31st August that there were issues with the windows, in that when the windows were shut you could see daylight between the frame and the sash because they didn’t close properly.
Despite having 2 months to resolve this during the summer, prior to us moving in, NOTHING was done.
To add insult to injury, they bad mouthed the supplier and installer who came round 6 times to visit my property to inspect the windows.
It was only when I demanded a final fix of the windows by an alternate company this was finally agreed, and SIX MONTHS later the windows were replaced.
This meant 3 days of labourers in my property to remove the existing windows and install new windows. I then had to pay a cleaner to clean the mess, and take 3 days off work.
My energy bills were high due to requiring the heating on longer during the window due to draughts from the windows being open.
Despite all of this, Chestnut Homes have actually emailed to tell me they provided “good customer service”.
Clearly their version of good customer service and my version of good customer service are two completely different things. They also did not reply to several of my emails until chased, and then just reply from a generic ‘customer care’ email address with no name, so you don’t even know if it is the same person you are speaking to.
When I approached their sales office on site, they told me they are ‘not allowed to get involved with customer care issues, as they will get in trouble’.
So in summary, Chestnut Homes will take your money and then you’re on your own to fix their shoddy workmanship.
I know I am not alone in this issue as their own ‘handy man’ and the company that eventually replaced the windows have confirmed they are fixing/replacing the windows across all of the Chestnut Homes sites.
I would advise you to look elsewhere.
The Meadows, Dunholme
We recently purchased on the Meadows Estate, Dunholme, Lincolnshire.
Tracy and Rachel in the sales office were super supportive in progressing what turned out to be a quite complex sale and often acted as a second estate agent on our behalf, honestly the sale wouldn't have occurred without their support.
We are extremely happy with the quality of our home, and we love living here.
We compared against other developers in the area and the houses on offer from Chestnut were of much higher quality.
Any minor niggles on the house have been sorted immediately, with great support from Pete the site manager, with an electrician coming in on his day off to resolve an issue with the oven.
Grade A service start to finish and could not recommend them more.
Poor quality build, worse service
Having been in the home 2 years I have had several significant issues alongside the usual small defects you may expect.
Currently I have no working doors on my house with a front door of which the lock has broken leaving my house vulnerable and a back door that leaks profusely during heavy rain resulting in my floor and skirtings taking on frequent water which I am sure will be doing no good. I have a draft on the window in one of my bedrooms meaning I am in a continual battle with mould despite having a dehumidifier running constantly. These are just the main ongoing issues with my new build Chestnut Home.
Worst part of all of this has been the service. No 12 month defect check though apparently I received a letter about it.
Whenever I contacted Longhurst regarding issues I got told the fault was not covered or with more recent issues it is outside of the defect period, IF they even bother to respond at all or to contact the builder (Chestnut Homes).
I tried contacting Chestnut Homes about the issues and kept getting passed back to Longhurst or ignored.
I finally thought I may be getting somewhere with Chestnut Homes after I was told they would file a warranty for me on the doors but have been told today after having to chase Chestnut Homes again, that my doors are not covered as they only have a two year warranty though my leaking back door was mentioned within the first two years being in the property. They chose not to address my concern over the window draft or questions about whether the doors are covered by the NHBC.
I am not alone in having these issues, I am not on one bad plot. I have heard from numerous other residents they are struggling to get issues resolved the doors leaking or locks broken being a scarily common issue. You only have to do a walk around the estate and you can see new handles on a significant percentage of the doors where they have clearly had locks replaced and this includes my neighbour.
Unfortunately I am left disgruntled and like many others convinced new builds are not built to quality of past.

Wyberton, Boston
In December 2023, we visitedthe Quadrant to enquire about shared-ownership properties. Little did we know, with Kamila's guidance, we'd soon reserve our dream home, Buttermere, and own it outright. Left my home unsecured after the lock…
Left my home unsecured after the lock broke within just over a year of owning the house.
This is our 3rd faulty cheap lock and currently can’t secure the home and it was reported at 8am this morning - nearly 12 hours later with nobody even been out.
Got a chest of drawers in front of my door!!
I have a 9 year old in the house and my home insurance is not valid if the home isn’t secured.
Once they have your money the customer care goes out the window! Same story as when I bought my first home with them in 2011, benefit of the doubt given in 2022 and here we go again! Do not recommend!!!
Kings Manor, Coningsby
We moved into our new home on Kings Manor, Coningsby in September 2023.
The whole process from reserving, to choices, build updates and move in date all ran smoothly with the help from Jayne and Lindsey. We’ve always received a warm welcome into the marketing office, it’s family friendly which has been helpful on our visits to make choices. Jayne and Lindsey have been more than accommodating, patient and helpful with us with our many questions, and visits to her office to make our kitchen/bathroom/flooring choices. Even after we moved in, Jayne has helped us with sourcing furniture we liked from the show homes, nothing is too much trouble.
This is our second home bought from Chestnut homes on the same development. The finishing of the new house has been excellent. Steve has helped resolve and issues and queries we had. We had a couple of minor snags that were sorted quickly. The build site team are all friendly and helpful. There has been further building of new homes around us since moving in, but the extra vehicles and people around has never really been of a hinderance in terms of access to our house and noise. My son has been greatly entertained daily by the diggers passing by!
We love our new home, and have had a lovely first Christmas here. Thank you very much Chestnut Homes, specifically Jayne, Lindsey and Steve.
PRAISE
What fantastic staff at Chantrey Park. They dont just go the extra mile, they will do a marathon if you ask. With them driving the legal teams we have moved in just 7 weeks after finding our house. Now they are helping greatly with the tweeks that will personalise it. Multiple people snagged it so that apart from a glitch with the dishwasher moving has been hassle free. The house is highly energy efficient and yet we have the largest baths ever in which to luxuriate. This firm is truly customer focused.

Great Team -Chantry Park -Market Rasen
We moved into our new home on Chantry Park , Market Rasen in August this year. The process was professional and nothing was too much trouble. Our sales advisor Janet has been absolutely brilliant with us , her patience , help, understanding and friendly customer care is outstanding , a credit to Chestnut Homes . Alongside Janet , we have also had help and support from Mary in sales , again nothing to much trouble, friendly and helpful . The site manager Matt and maintenance guy Brian , have also been brilliant . Thank you to each of you for all the help and support .
We are loving our new home , and looking forward to our first Christmas here .
I most definitely would recommend Chestnut Homes to anyone thinking of buying a new property .

We are First time home buyers and the service received was five star. Nikki was amazing and nothing was too much trouble and all questions were replied too quickly and they were always there.
