Outdoor heater

The new patio heater is beautifully made and was installed exactly as described.

My only niggle is that there are some limitations to its use which were not described at the time of sale.

We were advised not to put it us against the house, and not to use it directly under a parasol.

These limitations may have made us think about an alternative.

Beautiful product and fuss free service

I got my outdoor heater BBQ about 4 weeks ago and it has been a treat though there was a niggle that I wanted sorting out. To be honest it couldn’t have been more efficiently dealt with - beautiful machine and a really no nonsense approach to customer service

Love the Garden Gourmet...

Love the Garden Gourmet for both cooking and heating - functions flawlessly. Delivery guys were great (we went for the white glove delivery to make it easier - it is *very* heavy!). Our thermometer has started playing up - suspect the probe wire is the problem - going to enquire about it. Otherwise 5*

Purchased a Garden Party outdoor BBQ…

Purchased a Garden Party outdoor BBQ and stove.

Delivered with damage to the flue and no safety gloves. Replacement flue sent out very quickly. The rotating grill does not work as the grill does not lock into place. Replacement grill sent but also does not lock into place. Still waiting for replacement grill after nearly 4 weeks and still cant properly use BBQ.
Staff are fantastic.....really good.....wish I could say the same for the product.

Dear Shaun we're really sorry for this problem, or rather problems. It does feel to us at least that you have been unlucky, but that is not and excuse. I know about the grill size issue and it has probably happened similarly twice in the last five years (arrived that was from the factory, so an invisible to use at the QC stage), nevertheless we are urgently trying to get some grills sourced for you and will sort this as quickly as we possibly can. Very sorry indeed but hope to sort your issue very soon. I hope that you will change your mind about the product when you can actually start using it Very best MJ

Great customer service, mix up sorted

We bought a new fireplace and fire from Chesneys, just had it installed so not sure about how good it works, but service from Nick was exceptional. There was a mix up with our order, which meant we had the wrong fireplace installed and had to get it removed and replaced. After a few discussions, Nick assured us it will all be sorted and so far it has been. What could have been a very expensive mix up ended up being a great customer service experience, so full credit to Nick for sorting.

Only thing to note, for those who are looking, is to check carefully the various models as they are called very similar things. We bought the Clandon Bolection (in the Contemporary range), but turns out there is also a Clandon (in the Georgian range) and an Elemental Clandon. This caused the mix up, so beware. As I say, ended up being handled very well (after just a bit of heartache), but best to avoid mix ups in the first place.

Absolutely love my Chesneys Heat &…

Absolutely love my Chesneys Heat & Grill. Bought the pizza stone & our 1st attempt making pizza on it was pretty successful! Couldn’t believe how quickly they cooked! The heat output is amazing!

Excellent

Excellent service. Absolutely stunning fireplaces - the sales people were so helpful both in the shop and in emails to help us choose which would be best for us. The installer was a pleasure and couldn't do enough for us - very neat and professional work. We are very happy with the end result - would highly recommend.

I can’t see how to reply to your reply - yes, I sent photos and yes I was offered touch up paint - nothing received. Yes I did check the stove over winter until around four weeks in Feb when I was away.

Delivers on its promises

I bought the Garden Gourmet last autumn and have fired it up for the first time this fine Easter weekend. 2 things; firstly the BBQ works just a described. The Cheney's charcoal is good quality large chunks but the unit works just as well with briquettes and produces and (importantly) maintains temp within a narrow range as you wish. Having produced a good Shwarma, a few logs chucked on and the baffle repositioned allowed four to sit round and enjoy the flames as the ambient temperature dropped to 8 degrees. Lovely evening and a pleasure to have a bit of kit that actually delivers on its promises.

Excellent product quality and customer service!

I have been very impressed by the heat and grill product and by the customer service throughout the process of buying the product and delivery to our home in Austria. Christian Paris from Chesneys has been excellent and very responsive to any questions.
I can thoroughly recommend this company.

Salisbury 5.... disappointed

After purchasing a Chesneys Salisbury 5 stove in 2020, we have now found that the bottom brick has started to crumble. Ash has been left in the base as per instruction guide. I'm amazed that customer services seem to think that this is acceptable. The handle came off mid use because the grub screw came off and the info plate on the back of the stove was also loose, which had to be removed, with difficulty. I purchased the stove because I own a Chesneys stove which is around eight years old and still going strong....no issues with bricks etc. The warranty with the stove gave me peace of mind, but I don't think it's worth the paper it's written on. I am not happy to leave the brick as suggested and will have to replace at my own expense. I will not be purchasing another Chesneys stove in the future.

Thank you for getting in touch.

The fire bricks within the stove are consumable items, much like brake pads on a car they will deteriorate over time, this process does result in the brick slowly crumbling.

Subject to usage we would normally expect these to last 2-3 years, having reviewed the image provided I would say your base fire brick looks as expected given two years of use and probably has a further two years of life before it needs replacing.

Regarding the issues with your handle and data plate, I’m sorry to read about this. I must ask, has the issue been raised with your trade stockist? If there is an issue with a mechanical component of your stove your trade stockist will be able to submit a warranty claim to us and if deemed necessary we will happily provide replacement componentry.

The most terrible experience ever

The most terrible experience ever. Don’t use this company, they have awful customer service.

I ordered my fireplace October 2021, and while it was more expensive than other brands, they assured me it was due to better quality and better service. I was told my fire would be installed by Christmas, and with that happy thought in mind I forked over for it. We are in February, the fireplace they installed was wrong, they had to change the basket, the glass header cut for it was measured badly and so didn’t fit, they are now unable to provide one at all, so are actually coming to collect the entire thing and to refund my money. To top it all off, my beautiful brand spanking new cream rug was entirely damaged with oily chimney soot by their fitters. Chesneys said they were not to blame as their fitters are separate from them and so no one has paid for the damages or to replace it. So not only did I waste time and tears for absolutely nothing, but now I’m stuck with no fire and a ruined carpet.

Great Service, great product!
I got in touch with Chesneys, because I couldn´t find a supplier in Germany. From the start the contact was courteous and very helpful. Everything went absolutely smoothly.
The Heat and Grill is well manufactured with these little details, which underline, that someone has put a lot of thoughts in it.

World class service

I'm a resident of Spain, where currently there is no local representative of Chesneys. After a couple of emails, customer service worked out a quote and logistics for shipping the product abroad. A few weeks later, a Heat & Grill found a new home in Spain. Amazing service!

Just 3 days before Christmas

Just 3 days before Christmas, the top firebrick of my Chesney Beaumont broke & fell into the fire. In a panic I rang Chesneys (Chris at Battersea) who was most helpful and I ordered the new part that same day.
It was sent out that same evening at 7pm and reached me in the morning post. I was over-the-moon delighted and Christmas was saved!
Full marks to Chesney's customer service.
