We have not had a good experience of dealing with the Sales team at the Sunbury branch. We followed their advice when deciding the value to market our house at. Almost immediately they wanted us to drop the price and this continued throughout the overly long period we were under contract with them.
However, the biggest issue by far, was the terrible communication or lack of. Frequently, I would receive a call during the week to ask if a viewing could be arranged at the weekend. We always said yes, and whilst we were told they would confirm the viewing, this never happened. This would always result in me having to call on a Friday to confirm if and when viewings were taking place. A simple email confirming viewings would solve this issue. It was completely impossible to reach anyone on a Saturday. They only open from 10am-3pm and the phone is never answered. I understand they maybe out on viewings, so employ more staff or open for longer. If it was not possible to have your call answered by the branch, you are put through to someone elsewhere in the country who could do no more than promise to email the branch and ask them to call you. However, all too often no return call came.
They seem to have a high turnover of staff. Numerous different staff members carried out our viewings. Most of whom had never seen our house prior to showing perspective buyers round.
When we did finally receive an offer, the way this was handled was shambolic. Our usual contact was on holiday, as was the Sales Director, and the person dealing with the negotiation clearly had no idea what they were doing. No negotiation to speak of took place, and no follow up took place either. Our very keen prospective buyer became a missed opportunity. Dispite repeated calls and emails, I heard nothing for 10 days. They had no idea if the offer was still on the table. Very poorly handled.
As soon as we gave notice to end our contract, the weekly marketing up date calls ground to a halt.
Our contract has now finally ended. I have not received a call to recognise this or to say they were sorry not to have sold our house. Nothing. I at least expected a questionnaire, giving me an opportunity to give feed back. This would allow them to improve their service, but clearly they are not interested in doing this. Our house remained on their website and Rightmove even though we are no longer being represented by then. It was down to me to chase them to get it taken down. As no one returned my calls or emails, I had to go in to the branch (twice, as when I went on the Saturday there was no one there)!
All in all, very unprofessional.

I have used Chancellors many times in the past and have always had very good service. They have recently sold my house. Dan was friendly, helpful and thorough when he first came to value my property, as well as after. Luke took over the selling of the property. He went above and beyond in helping to push along the solicitors who were dealing with my purchase, and kept me in the loop with regard to my purchasers. Thank you very much.
