I have had a great experience with Chancellors. I felt that Freya really went above and beyond to help me find somewhere and has given great service from start to finish. She has been really proactive and was the first to let me know if something suitable came along. I felt compared with other estate agents I’ve used that she genuinely cared about helping me to find somewhere that was right for me. Would definitely recommend!

Iulia is the best letting negotiator I have come across. Her dedication and commitment to helping me find a rental property was outstanding. Her client care went above and beyond as she notified me every step of the way to arranging a viewing, to submitting my application to the landlord. I wanted to write to feedback to the chancellor’s team in headington and in particular the great work for Francesca as our property manager.
We have found that Francesca acts on our requests and concerns promptly. She also updates us along the way. For example she will let us know that quotes have been sent to the landlord. I feel like having this information is so important and empowering to us as tenants.
When Francesca is unable to resolve the problem herself she will sign post us to where to go to next.

She understood what been stranded regarding looking for an apartment can be and she was willing to help.

My shout out goes to her because she is a kind soul even as much as i didnt later secure my apartment with chancellors but i must give my heartfelt shout out to her.

Please Can this company device another means for any process that is needed to cover up for guarantorship so as to not leave one stranded because most of us are new in the country and can barely find one or two who can act as one.Many have lost apartment offered to them due to this effect,I knew how i was discouraged from not using the agency by my colleagues as the first thing question is that do i have a guarantor,if not do not waste my time.

I replied i have one but not knowing she is not going to be able to stand because of the reason of asking for so many sensitive documents.From her words"I have lived in the UK for23 of my life,have been a guarantor for 15years to so many but never have i have been asked to submit or give consent to sensitive documents just like chancellors did".Please kindly review this if you can..

It is painful i lost a house because of this guarantorship but regardleas Iulia Branduse and Shai Maiguire (kidlington)was kind and proved wrong of whatsoever i have heard about chancellors staff.

I recently moved into a property a week ago and the overall experience with Chancellors has been quite smooth. I found them to be a highly professional business with dedicated teams handling specific tasks. I would like to express my sincere appreciation to my property manager, Rebecca Thyer, for her prompt responsiveness to our needs. She has been instrumental in facilitating effective communication between us and our landlord.

Me and my partner recently bought our first property. Although we had some challenges initially with our search where we had lots of calls with different people at Chancellors taking the same details, we then had a really positive experience working with Kayleigh. Kayleigh showed us lots of different properties in the area, had great communication and answered all our queries. She was really friendly and supportive throughout the process.

My wife and finally understand why Chancellors has such bad reputation.

As a tenant, they didn't reply to our emails until I showed up in person in their office. On several occasions, I sent them repeated follow-up emails over a couple of week without receiving any reply. Only when I showed up in person in their office, I was told "I was about to reply" but only ever received a verbal answer in person, never a written reply.

We were treated like criminals each year when the rent increased. Chancellors never informed us of the new rent amount in advance or the rent being due. They wait that we paid the old, smaller amount, and then they invariably sent us an email threatening us with a penalty if I didn't pay the missing difference within days.

Finally, when the end of the tenancy agreement came around, they ask us if I wanted to stay, we answered yes, and only then they went to ask the landlord who decided not to rent anymore and evicted us using section 21. They made it clear that the landlord is their client and they will do everything to benefit them at the expense of tenants.

A full month (!) after being evicted, they allowed the landlord to claim for alleged damages without including evidence, which our tenant liability insurance examined and classed as wear and tear. In contrast, they gave us 3 days to respond. But even then, once again, they ignored our arguments and treated us like criminals, when all the evidence was supporting our position.

Critically: DO NOT accept their "zero deposit scheme", as they will use that to by-pass the normal process of independent adjudication, and they will try to gaslight tenants with a biased in-house process using their own insurer to make a decision on the landlord's claim. They'll refer you to the tenancy agreement even when it contradicts their own statements.

Worst, they told us they would only contact us if a decision is made that we owe anything, while we'll never hear if and when a decision was made in our favour. This is an unacceptable psychological game they play with tenants, to intimidate them into paying the landlord's claim only to close the case, even if tenants know they haven't done anything wrong and shouldn't pay in the first place.

It's not only the local branch, or even the county's property manager, but even the Regional Property Manager tried to gaslight us when we raised a formal complaint.

Worst letting agency in the area by far. We hope we never having to deal with them anymore. Shame they have such a large portfolio of properties in the area. They're really hard to avoid.

My contact at the estate agent is very prompt at responding and has been helpful with all of my queries. Small problems that have arisen have always been managed and resolved quickly and without inconvenience to myself. I feel happy asking questions and raising issues as I know they will be responded to timely and resolved. Staff are polite and helpful and I’ve had a very positive experience as a tenant.

Chancellors helped me and my mate get a place to live in Oxford, they are always prompt with appointments to view properties and kept me abreast with latest property listings in my locale. When we finally got a flat, the transition to tenancy and getting all documents completed was seamless. They still manage the property and the property manager Rebecca is absolutely amazing, very helpful and prompt to handle any complaints or issues raised during the period we were settling into the flat.

Francesca has been a great source of support. She has always replied back to calls and emails promptly. She’s been polite and professional at all times and I’m very grateful for her help in this process.

I have sold a few properties recently through Chancellors Headington and I have been very impressed, particularly by Kayleigh Burrett. All the team are very good but Kayleigh really kept me informed of what was happening and listened to my needs and made me feel that she cared about the sale.
