Absolute shambles

Absolute shambles. Keep telling me I need to arrange payment, I keep telling them I have, and continue to provide information, including bank details for direct debit, but they keep sending me " last chance" emails, and despite sending them at least a dozen emails with the required info, they have responded only twice in more than a month, to tell me I have not authorised anything.
No where to go. Give them what what ask for and they ignore and continue with harassment.
I am now taking the matter further.

Utterly incompetant company

I received a letter from CCS collect, date 6th November 2020, stating that they had been asked by their client HMRC to collect an outstanding balance. I've no idea who this company was as I was sure I didn't have an outstanding tax bill. Our local Neighbourhood Watch had been advising us to look out for HMRC scams so I was very suspicious. I logged on to my Government Gateway account to find that I did indeed owe some outstanding tax, which I genuinely thought had been collected through a tax code change. I paid it straight away. A week later I started to receive calls and messaged from CCS to contact them regarding this outstanding amount. I messaged them to say that it was paid. NO REPLY. They still persisted daily to call me, so I bared their number. Then the messages started on a daily basis. I tried calling them but they would not speak to me about the matter until I "completed security", name, address, date of birth. This I was not prepared to do. I emailed them to say that I had paid. NO REPLY. The daily messages still kept coming. I wrote to them on the 16th November 2020 stating that I did not owe anything and if they were acting on behalf of HMRC to contact them to confirm I was correct. The letter was sent recorded delivery. I received another letter from them on the 17th November 2020 chasing payment. They replied to me on the 20th November 2020 acknowledging receipt of my letter and "as a gesture of good will CCS have placed your account on hold for 14 days". I wrote to them again on the 23rd November 2020 with proof of payment and asked for a prompt reply to acknowledge that I had paid HMRC. 28 days later NO REPLY. It beggars belief that HMRC have employed such an utterly incompetent company to collect their outstanding debts.

I too was contacted by a letter from CCS using Vodafone letter headed paper. Stating I owed money. Having just been caught up in another scam alarm bells rang as when I tried to contact Vodafone which took over a morning of my time I still can't get to the bottom of it. I was told not to rely or answer any texts or emails? I am sure this is another scam

I think this company is a scam company

I think this company is a scam company. I have had 7 texts from them claiming I owe money with a reference code. Went to their website typed in the code etc and nothing comes up. Tried calling with no answer. So I've emailed them and no response. I've checked and I have no outstanding debt. The fact I've had the same text with the same error in each text, no contact or any response from the company other than text, says scam to me! Also reading everyone's reviews too makes me think it's definitely a scam.

PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE YOU CONTACT CCS

I recieved a letter claiming I owed £30 to an unnamed company. I emailed CCS and never had a response, but what followed was weeks of harassment via phone calls. I had a missed one payment of my Vodafone contract, and had made arrangements with Vodafone to make a payment once paid (covid isolation). However this company continues to call and insist I paid them £30. I called Vodafone, they informed me they had not passed my account onto this company and they they do not use this company for outstanding account balances. So I paid the £30 to Vodafone as arranged, and then began to receive more phone calls and another letter from CCS claiming I now owed them £28 on behalf of Vodafone. £28 is my monthly contract amount, it was not and is not overdue, and yet this company continue to call demanding £28 that isn't owed. I believe they are illegally obtaining people's credit information, trying to lure them into paying them their phone contracts and such. I spoke with three different CCS advisors and asked them to stop calling as I do notnpwe them money, it did not stop and it has not stopped.

If you ever recieved a letter, phone call or an email from this company, do not engage with them, do not contact them, block their number and DO NOT PAY THEM. My phone flagged their number as a potential scam, clearly they are a huge scam and need to be looked into by the financial ombudsman.

I am glad of the previous reviews

I am glad of the previous reviews, I got the same feeling just from reading the letter.
Can’t contact them without paying a premium rate... the “debt” is owed to atlas for men, another dodgy company I would recommend avoiding at all
Costs! It’s for a coat that I paid for in full and had to wait over 2 months to receive. No communication from AFM to say I owe anything and the only way to contact them is also a premium rate number!!!

ASK FOR PROOF THAT YOU OWE!! DON'T PAY THEM!!

My partner was contacted by letter by CCSCollect and they claimed that he owes HMRC money for a self assessment that was apparently not paid in 2014. There was no evidence and no reason given for why my partner owed the debt in the letter and they stated that if he did not pay within 5 days that they would send someone to our home to collect the debt!! First letter and they stated that!!

Anyway, my partner wrote back and said he wanted proof of the debt (debt validation) and proof that CCSCollect have the authority to collect owed money. Everyone has a right to request this by law under The Fair Debt Collection Practises Act (FDCPA).
I mean if someone, anyone, sends you a letter through the post and says "you owe me XXX amount of money, please pay now" with absolutely no proof or explanation for why or how the debt is owed... You would be mad to ring and pay straight away wouldn't you?!!

So my partner requested both those forms of proof and also said that if any unreasonable behaviour was committed through any form of contact in the meantime, it would be reported and he gave CCSCollect 5 working days to respond with that information to give them a taste of their own medicine.

Much to our surprise CCSCollect replied well within the 5 days LOL.

They did not provide any proof of why my partner owed the debt and they did not provide proof of their authority to collect debts. They completely ignored my partners lawful rights to request that information and said that the information from their client was restricted and that as 'a gesture of good will' they would put my partners account on hold. HA HA HA..... Not my partners account though is it, he hasn't accepted liability for the debt so it's not his account, not his debt.

Absolutely outrageous!! We have never ever seen or read anything like it. What an absolute shambles.

Anyone who gets a letter from this company or any other for that matter claiming they owe money with no reason or explanation or proof.... Don't be a fool and pay, you'd have to be so stupid!

My partner has contacted the Ombudsman and is fighting them off.

Like someone else said in the reviews, it's your money, not theirs. And if they can't prove you owe the debt don't pay it.

I hope this company is shut down, after reading the reviews and seeing my partner go through this experience it's just rediculous and a complete waste of his and anyone's time.

Received debt notification from these cowboys today instructed from Vodafone for costs incurred by Vodafone failure to terminate my contract after 30 day's notice on the 1st of April 1st of May and on the 4Th of May. Phoned them and question the operative who could not advise the basics of UK law what the debt consisted off and refused to answer questions on if refused to pay what the next escalations stage and costs would be charged.

Obviously in cohoots with Vodafone as written response and defence sent over received further escalations email some hour's later basically stating pay up and is urgent.

Operative made subtle threats about bad credit reference note will be added.

Paid up under duress and intent to pursue via the relevant ombudsman with their behaviour applied

Vodafone and CCS breaking the financial conduct authority rules and government rules by sending threatening letters regarding a dispute that remains unresolved for nearly 6 months. Vodafone sends a letter saying matter resolved and closed then CCS send a letter demanding payment which I understand is against government guidelines. Absolutely useless trying to talk to them so have reported it to FCA hopefully they will take notice of them.

Had to contact CCS to inform them that a previous owner of our house had not lived here for 2 years! Only to find that the repeated calls to help them out actually cost £40 on OUR phone bill.

It's abhorrent that an organisation that is dealing with customers in debt will charge such extortionate rates for phone calls, and even worse in our situation where we were not even involved in the original debt!

This company employs self righteous rude people who never admit they are wrong.
The advisors do not do their jobs correctly. If you call they preach at you they TRY to talk over you..without success if you can raise your voice.
Its clear notes are NOT being updated or saved!
On numerous called & you get an automated message saying 'we are busy..leave a contact phone number & we will call you back'....I have tried that on 7 Jan ...still waiting.
I did manage to get through a few days later & arrange payments to be taken from my account.
Nothing was taken...spoke to them again few days ago and low & behold...nothing in the Notes...& apparently the last time I spoke to this shambles of a company was NOV 19!!

DO NOT BE INTIMIDATED BY THIS ORGANISATION

Contacted by them to claim a HMRC tax debt of £397.00. The person I spoke to had obvously attended the Gestapo school of charm.

I made an offer to pay which was followed by a bombardment of questioning from them which was not related. In the end I had to take control of the conversation and tell the lovely lady how it was going to be.

Do not be intimidated by them. They are parasites and seemingly employ staff who on a permanent ego trip. Remember - when they contact you that you have your money and they don't. YOU are in control of the situation.

This company advertiser's as Helping people pay their debts, don't believe it!!. DVLA use them and I've made 3 complaints about the company and their handling of my unwarranted debt demand. They are NOT interested in anything you tell them. I have proof from the DVLA that I complied with the law so asked CCS to contact the DVLA and they would confirm I owe no monies. They state they have NO means to do this and I would have to do this. They are a Joke of the parasitic kind. Utterly useless as they wanted me to do their job for them. There should be some way of getting this company removed/barred from debt collection.
