Don't send your mower to Carrs Billington for servicing, if you value your sanity.

I decided to send my mower to Carrs Billington in Byers Green Durham. I'd been there or my chainsaws and it was always a pleasure to go there.

When I booked my ride-on mower in, they said there was a backlog. I wasn't in a hurry, so didn't worry about it. Two days later they wanted to come and collect it, so i thought they had had a cancellation and let them take it, on 6th May. Bad decision. I chased them repeatedly - they never let me know what was happening - and heard "difficulty getting parts". Then "parts sent to wrong address" and finally "wrong parts". All for what I'd booked as a simple service. I usually did it myself, getting parts from World of Mowers, and having them delivered in a few days. We're now in mid-June. The mower had now been away for over a month during one of the fastest grass growing months in history. My grass was up over my waist. Eventually, they said it was ready, and that they'd been very busy, hence the delay. From there it only took 10 days to deliver it - partly due to difficulties in reaching me on the 'phone, and me asking for a partial refund due to their ineptitude. I didn't get one. They'll not be seeing me again...

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that you were dissatisfied with your experience, as this is not the level of service we strive to provide.

However, we would like to clarify several key points to ensure an accurate account of events. The mower provided is from a brand that we do not supply or officially support, and is in fact from a competing manufacturer. Despite this, and during one of the busiest periods of the year (cutting season), we agreed to assist with the repair. Sourcing parts for non-supported brands is considerably more complex, as we cannot use our usual supplier network, which inevitably extends lead times.

Your machine was completed and ready for return on 19th June. Following this, our team made multiple attempts over the course of the week to contact you, via both phone calls and email, to arrange delivery. Unfortunately, these communications went unanswered.

In addition, the mower could not be released until the outstanding invoice had been settled, particularly after we were informed that payment may not be made. This understandably resulted in further delay, with the machine ultimately being returned on 30th June.

While we fully understand that delays are frustrating, especially during a period of rapid grass growth, we do feel it is important to highlight that our team worked hard to support you under challenging circumstances and outside of our normal product range.

We would also ask that all interactions with our staff remain respectful. Our records indicate that the tone of communication received via both phone and email fell below the standard we expect, and we will always stand behind our team in ensuring they are treated professionally and courteously.

We remain committed to delivering a high standard of service and to supporting customers wherever possible.

Customer service

Get milk and feed can you sign this I said this a new thing never had to to it before staff member said yeah I can’t be bothered to explain why and just sign. Now in my eyes no matter what you are selling customer service is key and manners maybe they need trained. I could list more things but not wasting anymore time on this just had to get my point across.

As from the boys round the bad they are great and helpful maybe they should be in store than round back

Excellent service all round

We ordered 500 litres of heating oil 2 weeks ago through Boiler Juice. We were quoted and paid up front for delivery by 16th March. We were concerned that the recent increase in oil price would mean that our order would be cancelled or charged at a higher rate. As it turned out none of this occurred and our full order was honoured and delivered by Carrs Billington 3 days early. Our driver Paul, a very pleasant man, was friendly, helpful and efficient despite having to work on a weekend. Well done and thank you for such excellent service from both Boiler Juice and Carrs Billington.

‼️WARNING‼️If using this company for heating oil ensure you check your levels before and after delivery. 6 years loyal customers, accused of lying. We will be taking our custom elsewhere.

500 Litres ordered. Level prior to delivery was 130 Litres. After delivery 485 Litres.

Poor customer service, emails ignored and not interested in correcting the issue.

Take your custom elsewhere if you want what you purchased.

Competitive and deliver on time

Have ordered for a few years through the oil Club, but since late last year they suddenly couldn’t get a competitive rate for our rural post code. Checked around and Carrs Billington have been brilliant. Competitive price and the two times we’ve ordered from them, they’ve said delivery would be in a couple of days and they've delivered the following day. That’s great service and the delivery driver is really nice. Will certainly be staying with them and highly recommend their service.

Great company they deliver oil on time…

Great company they deliver oil on time and great communication too. Having been let done by Home fuels direct, Carrs billington via Boiler jouice saved the day. Would most certainly use them again for home heating oil.

Awful Driver on the road

Awful Driver on the road, coming up to a merge lane where you are suposed to MERGE, he forced his way right up the back of the car in front and forced me into the other side of the road into oncoming traffic with a few cm away from the side of my car with my little girl in it. Silly dangerous driver with no consideration for other road users. I will never use this company again for this reason.
I also have dash cam footage the Reg of the van MA18 UTL.

I live in a small village with an oil…

I live in a small village with an oil tank that is difficult to access. The whole team in Carlisle and the delivery driver have exceeded all expectations to ensure my oil was delivered in the most professional and polite way. Thanks to you all. A great team.

Very Smooth Process

I called Carr’s Billington, as a new customer, to set up and account and order some heating oil. It was a very smooth process, and the oil was delivered two days later. Everyone I dealt with - and especially the delivery guy - were very helpful, particularly with someone who is new to oil-fired heating. Thank you.

Terrible driver

Formby branch employ a driver who has no respect or consideration for other drivers, pulls out without indicating, tailgates and tries to force other vehicles out of the way by intimidating them,all accompanied by offensive gestures.

Carrs Penrith

I do not think she has been there very long. Other staff are excellent so this is a real shame. I cannot remember the exact date I was in there but she seems unpleasant each time.

Great service!I wanted a supplement that I had failed…

I wanted a supplement that I had failed to source near me in east Sussex. So I sent an email off to carrs billington . I had a reply first thing the next morning from the Bakewell store ! Heather from the store provided a fantastic service and managed to send out my supplement all the way to Sussex ! Highly recommend!

Great Company

We have been customers of Carr's Billington for over 20 years and they have never let us down once. Nothing is ever too much trouble and their customer service is wonderful. Keep up the good work.

Excellent Service from Carr Billington…

Excellent Service from Carr Billington in respect of our recent oil delivery on 4/12/2023. Thank you LS who delivered our oil on a icy Monday morning, especially on our lanes. The driver didn’t even disturb us so thank you and such a relief we have our oil delivery in time for the cold weather and Christmas. Definitely went that extra mile and will use you again.

Appaling.

We were sent on an errand and had never been here before, the blonde woman serving was extremely unhelpful and confusing explaining how to purchase our items saying they weren't in store but were in the warehouse, so we asked where the warehouse was and it was literally the ajoined building. I could tell she did not want to help us or explain the process at all. We were then sent to the "warehouse" next door where we asked a man where we were supposed to go with our slip and he looked at it, said nothing to us and walked into the warehouse while we sat confused in the car. There was one nice older gentleman he was the only saving grace of the experience. I will never be back here. The attitudes of the customer advisors is absolutely appalling and as a Team Leader of a retail establishment myself I would be absolutely mortified if my staff treated and spoke to customers this way. Staff training needed.
