I just used Cardiff for the first time from Canada. I am originally from West Wales. 1. There needs to be better road access to the M4 west. It was frustrating that one has to go east from the airpo... Leggi di più

Airport not bad but the ground crew are…
Airport not bad but the ground crew are a total disgrace. Took them 20 mins to get a ladder to the plane so we could get off and then 1/2 hr and counting to get our bags 50 yards from the plane to the baggage hall. Swissport at Cardiff are complete garbage.
But to put a more positive spin on things everything about the trip home from Alicante to Cardiff (except Cardiff Airport ground crew) was fantastic. Vueling airline was superb, clean, efficient, friendly, on time. Good airline👍
Appalling wait time for baggage
Through passport control ag 9pm , baggage not available for collection until 10.15pm... no communication from the little staff that were there
Petty obnoxious male staff
Went to Cardiff to fly with Vueling. The airport is small, has two security scanners. The staff are so rude, really strict on how many liquids you take through. When questioned I had too many, the security man stated mascara was a liquid. He almost had pleasure telling me to sort it out and in one bag. Really petty 🤣
The only good thing about the airport is that it has as a Greggs, hence 2 stars and not 1.
1960s style airport
My experience of KLM flights to and from Cardiff Airport is that flights are on time: excellent. Boarding and returning are super quick. But don’t expect to shop or to eat anywhere other than lacklustre Costa or Greggs. Public transport to and from the city of Cardiff is slow and infrequent: Dire, dire, dire.
Cardiff airport and vueling airlines…
Cardiff airport and vueling airlines are absolute shambles DO NOT BOOK WITH THEM, as staff have already stated to us they have booked multiple flights over booked by 9 and 7 people. Me and my friend who were travelling with family for my best friends 18th, also left a 7 year old who was flying with us in tears. A bald young man with glasses called dan pittoson? Who was checking us in had 0 sympathy for all of us. He accused us of shouting at him and telling us to leave the airport when we were asking questions for companion. No compassion or empathy shown by this lad. We had to REBOOK 2 SEPARATE flights from BRISTOL airport which cost over £1000. Not even our compensation meets to that. Absolutely disgusted with the service only 2 members of staff shown sympathy and told us that this isn’t the first time or will be the last. This has ruined now as not only someone’s 18th birthday but also a family holiday. Thank you to your staff at Cardiff airport. NOT.
Incredibly helpful staff here
Incredibly helpful staff here, quiet airport.
We had a 9 month old with us and had exceeded baggage amount for max one bag, they kindly found a spare bag for us to split luggage. Which was hugely appreciated.
Security and boarding very supportive when travelling with a young child.
We love it.
Small. easy to walk around to get to terminals.
If I can I always try to fly from Cardiff
Travel very light otherwise incur extra charges
If you travel light with only hand luggage (6kg) they charge you extra if they think it looks too big for Ryanair luggage size cage. Even when we had no problem at our original airport.
Wales loses out as it means you can’t buy anything(even small) to bring home.
Not impressed!
What an absolute dump of an airport
What an absolute dump of an airport. No where to sit areas shut off and it’s not even peak time.
Best thing that can happen is to shut it down completely
Grey, drab, with over-zealous security...
Despite only living a few miles from Cardiff Airport I rarely use it. On a recent trip to Berlin I remembered why. Grey, drab, with endless queing and over-zealous security, I imagine this was what airports were like in Communist- era East Germany. While going through security I was instructed by one of the Stasi to not only take off my belt which I was expecting, but also my boots which I wasn't. Having then gone through the scanning machine, and then scanned with a hand held device, another security official then ran his fingers around the inside of the waist of my jeans. While I'm sure it must be nice for his work to also be his hobby, for me standing there in my socks the whole experience was demeaning and degrading. In contrast returning through Berlin Airport was an entirely different experience. Bright, modern, with friendly security officials who saw no need to strip and search me.
The staff on security were absolutely…
The staff on security were absolutely lovely ! Let me take my time and even helped me clean up my bag after a makeup explosion. Fab service!
Needs a revamp
The access roads leading to the airport are confusing and very poorly lit at night. Some of the worst traffic signalling I have seen anywhere in UK. The airport signs aren't consistent.
The signage on arrival is also confusing. Lanes for car parks are not clear with too many signs.
One sad looking Greggs open at 4am before going airside. Not the best place to see people off. It is like being in a deserted hospital ward. The only toilet open was disabled. It's not a bright and cheerful environment pre departure.
Honestly I would pay more to use Bristol where you can relax with plenty of choices for eating / drinking.
Needs a revamp.
First time flying from Cardiff as it’s…
First time flying from Cardiff as it’s normally cheaper for us to fly from Bristol or Birmingham but will definitely consider paying slightly extra to fly from Cardiff for future holidays! Very simple, quick and easy check in, no queues for security due to the limited amount of flights daily, plenty of space in the airport. Small duty free but had what you might need! Breakfast in the restaurant was tasty and reasonably priced for an airport! Airport and toilets were clean. Boarding was easy and not much walking as it’s only a small airport! Plane left on time. Arrival into Cardiff wasn’t an issue either. Landed, was off the plane, bags collected, and back in our car within 30 minutes!
Small but relaxing environment!
We visited for me in what was the first time in over 10 years. It has changed, still only small but relaxing as minimal departures spread evenly apart.
It would benefit from likes of a Burger King or KFC, maybe a proper breakfast cafe or greenking type pub. Food is very limited and the one couldn’t cope with passengers on top of other passengers due to a failed flight.
Would we fly again or use this Airport definitely, why not?!
Straightforward check in and baggage collection on return. Only issue was having to wait for lost property as not staffed but had I not left the item I would have not had to go through the process.
Staff are friendly from arrivals, border force to those behind the scenes.
Was is designed by a sadist or a joker
Whoever designed this airport is either a sadist or a practical joker. The arrivals procedure was atrocious. What a gruelling trek it was. Long corridors (understandable) but then up stairs only to have to come back down stairs, not once but twice !!
I really felt sorry for those with young children and those with mobility issues but not severe enough to qualify for assistance.
Had to wait ages for luggage to appear (must have been travelling the same corridors and stairs that we had to). Other passengers were discussing the up and down stairs fiasco.
I have been told Cardiff has few airlines and destinations because of the excessive charges it applies. Bristol for me next time.
So disappointing
So disappointing. Staff under performing and under enthusiastic. Coffee shop dirty whilst the staff chat amongst themselves. Duty free staff in the store room chatting not on shop floor. Come on Cardiff Airport this Airport was bought using Welsh Government money and is really under performing when compared to the likes of Bristol. Very sad indeed.
Don’t even deserve the 1 star
Don’t even deserve the 1 star
Mine and my partners suite cases have been opened all jewellery/high Rick items gone and my birthday cards where ripped open never again I will be taking this further
The "Meet and Greet" parking is a rip…
The "Meet and Greet" parking is a rip off.
We booked this as one of our party is disabled.
Ive used meet and greet at other airports before and have been met by a driver who takes your car away.
On return the car is returned to you.
The so called "Meet and Greet" in Cardiff has none of this.
You park your car and walk to a portacabin then have to que up to hand in the keys.
Upon return, again you have to get in a que to collect your keys. Which is not ideal at midnight when you are on crutches.
You then have to drag your suitcases across the carpark to find your car.
Do yourself a Big favour...dont pay "Meet and Greet" prices for standard parking
Small friendly airport
Cardiff is a small airport but still has everything you need whilst waiting for a flight. Security was a breeze with no queue at all. We had to take the lift up to security as we had a pram and it wasn’t clear which floor we had to go to. It was rather disappointing to find Greggs wasn’t inside the departure lounge, so you would need to buy your baked good before going through. Inside the departure lounge you’ll find a Costa, bar, Italian restaurant, WH Smith’s and a duty free shop. There’s also places to fill your water bottle which is handy. Most of the departure lounge is bright and airy, although the bathrooms seem quite dated.
Airports can often be stressful places, but everyone we dealt with was friendly. Our flight was delayed and a lady from Costa did offer seating space in Costa without needing to buy anything, purely because the seats are a bit more comfortable.
I would say that the gates need updating a bit. A bucket placed out for catching leaking water in the air bridge isn’t a great look.
Overall all it’s a great airport. Hopefully the number of airlines and destinations increase over the coming years!
