This week I ordered some pruning…

This week I ordered some pruning scissors and soil and came the next day in the post by Royal Mail in a secure and well package box with no damage and the product is amazing! And then I ordered a Jade bonsai and received a free sapling of a Chinese elm! And that parcel also came the next day with all healthy and no damage. The packaging is outstanding with care they make sure that the bonsai will not get damaged in the process of delivery! The bonsais was delivered by DPD and they are professional in handling the boxes from Bonsai direct.

Very good arrived in perfect condition

Very good arrived in perfect condition. Care guide is very helpful. My leaves started drooping and I contacted them. They gave me lots of advice about where to put it and how to water it well. It was blooming again within weeks. Very good will buy from here again.

Excellent trees, accessories and service.

I have bought a couple of trees from Bonsai Direct. Good price, arrived quickly and were in excellent condition. Bonsai Direct sell a comprehensive range of tools and accessories too. There are also links to very informative tutorial videos on YouTube starring Lloyd from Bonsai direct. He knows his craft.

Awful Company

Bonsai arrived not looking the best, followed the care instructions and even sent them photos as I was concerned about it and followed their exact instructions but the bonsai died after about 2 months of having it and they don’t want to help as it’s past 7 days, awful customer service.

We’re sorry to hear you’re disappointed and truly understand how upsetting it is to lose a bonsai. The tree was healthy and in flower when it left us.

When you reached out with photos, we recommended moving it outdoors and keeping it there, as moving it repeatedly between indoors and outdoors can cause stress.

At the time of delivery, it was coming to the end of its flowering period (we informed you of this during our latest messages) — it is natural for this species to flower for roughly a month from late February. Unfortunately, we didn’t hear from you again until the tree had already died, which meant we had no opportunity to guide you further or help recover the bonsai at an earlier stage.

We always aim to support our customers with care advice and guidance — even beyond our standard 7 day return policy. This return policy is in place as once the bonsai has been out of our care for this long, we are unable to accept responsibility for its condition as we are not caring for it. When buying a bonsai from us, you gain our help and expertise with your bonsai for life. We regret we weren’t able to help in time in this case.

Wonderful service and perfect Bonsai

Absolutely wonderful service from Sarah at Bonsai Direct, she went above and beyond to help me out and guide me in the buying process after I was let down by another supplier. Ordered on Saturday lunchtime and it was with me the next day on time for Father’s Day. The bonsai is gorgeous and exactly as pictured and arrived incredibly well packaged. So so happy and will definitely use them again. Thank you Sarah, you saved Father’s Day!

I purchased a 7 yr old tree and delivery was quick, very well packaged.
It came healthy and had flower buds
It’s been about 3 weeks and there’s lots of new growth new flowers

Amazing company great advice

Amazing company great advice. My wife bought me a bonsai for Valentine’s Day. It was doing really well. It then started to shed all its leaves after about a month. I contacted the company on messenger explaining the situation sent pics etc. They really took the time to explain to do to try and help it. Fast forward 2 weeks and the tree is flourishing again. Now thinking what tree next!

Such a perfect little bonsai tree…

Such a perfect little bonsai tree arrived! I purchased a Chinese elm bonsai tree for my grandparents who were absolutely delighted to receive it. The tree is beautiful and arrived very quickly - within 2 days of ordering it. It is good quality and came packaged very well. I believe bonsai direct are one of the best bonsai tree suppliers!

My second time ordering

My second time ordering from this company, buying a large ceramic pot and drip tray for repotting my bonsai. Arrived carefully packaged, with full instructions, soil, wire and mesh. The pot and tray are good quality, and my bonsai looks great in its new home. Very happy and would use again :)

Won’t refund after 7 days

Won’t refund after 7 days. I’ve been looking after my tree since Christmas hoping that I will see any green leaves or flowers and nothing. It’s basically twigs in a tray. I’ve watered it gently and fed it as it advised. Really poor.

EDIT to the reply. It won’t let me upload a photo on here, or I would. I saved the twigs in the pot in hope.
EDIT - I will email you the photo with order number. I haven’t emailed you as it makes it clear on your website that you only offer a 7 day refund and if I have pruned it, you also do not offer a refund. I know I can’t have a refund as I pruned it to try and save it, but I have been sent a defective tree so wanted to share my review of my product. That’s all. I don’t want to have to email you but I will, to prove my purchase and review is genuine.
EDIT - I will dig out the order number but this is extremely frustrating as I’m not asking anything of you, I just wanted to let people know that I’ve been sent a defective order!!! I’m now getting cross, as I’m having to come on here again, when all I wanted to do is write a review which you wanted. I will send the order number and will contact trustpilot - this is an awful experience.

EDIT 2: Hi Kate, We accept returns 7 days after delivery so that we can still resell the bonsai in the event someone changes their mind. If there is an issue we welcome contact as soon as possible. There is always a reason a bonsai does not thrive and the sooner we are contacted the better we can help. We have a whole area of the website dedicated to care and advice and we want the bonsai to do well and be a rewarding experience. By sending a photograph we can give you the correct advice. Obviously the longer an issue is left unresolved, the worse the problem could be. We would never send a sick bonsai. Every single one is checked prior to dispatch. I would like to help which is why we are kindly requesting a photograph. Many thanks

Amazing First Experience….

After a few months of obsessing over them, I purchased my first Bonsai from Bonsai Direct and it just arrived this evening. Could not be happier, I ordered Saturday delivery and was worried I wouldn’t get it on time with the recent storm hitting the UK but it came fine and in exceptional packaging to keep it safe. The tree and service exceeded all expectations.

Would not go anywhere else now as Bonsai Direct has set the bar very high.

Christmas Gift for my son

Ordered a 12 year old tree of a thousand stars for my son's christmas gift. Package arrived and it was really well wrapped. No damage, no soil loss and in excellent condition. I have no doubt it will transport back to his own home 200miles away despite having been taken out and admired, without, I suspect any damage. My son loves it and hopes to be able to look after it to a good age. Care instructions are also excellent and easily followed and they now have "bonsai care" on their website menu I have no doubt will prove extremely helpful to my son. Thank you Bonsai Diect for an excellent service. ❤️

I ordered on the 22nd of Dec and was…

I ordered on the 22nd of Dec and was assured it would arrive on the 24th. I received several updated from both Bonsai Direct and DPD ahead of delivery.

It arrived on time and the packaging and delivery process was flawless.

Surprisingly….the quality of the tree was exceptional. Overall… I’m blown away by this business. My expectations were low as I left it until the last minute but I was very happy and impressed with this business. Thank you.
