Simple process and paid quickly

Only downside was disagreed with garage over amount of labor needed in repair so paid 1 hour rather than 2 hours labor I was charged.

Overall I rate them well though

I am out of pocket by over £2000

I am out of pocket by over £2000. Be very aware. When you call this company you can never get through to a staff member. You have to leave a message for someone to call you back! I paid for the highest level of cover offered by the car dealer, (over £1000) I had to get two diagnostic reports (costing over £400) from separate garages as the work was complex. I followed the "claims process" and submitted my claim which was rejected "as the work required was not covered by the warranty as detailed in the booklet"! The booklet is an email attachment sent after you've signed the agreement!. It seems the warranty only covers things that won't break inside the 2 year warranty. I would suggest that before you use this company see if you can find any other company to cover your vehicle. Expensive and poor product. Poor customer service

I have had a terrible experience with Bluechip. I purchased a second hand car with 6 month warranty. The battery died on the car and I rang to make a claim. I was allowed to make a claim, and told to go and get quotes. It was hard to get quotes because mechanics were reluctant to work with a warranty company because they are hard to deal with. Also very hard to get a quote when car is not able to start and I can’t bring it to a mechanic? To cut a long story short, they strung me a long for 3 days without a car and after putting a bit of pressure on them, I was told they don’t fix batteries and that I should have read my manual. I rang the dealer who told me that they didn’t realise Bluechip were this bad and that they would sort it out. I raised a complaint with Bluechip but got a corporate robot dealing with it who was as much use as the claim handler. All in all, a terrible experience and in future I’d rather just pay for repairs than deal with this lot

We sincerely apologise for your dissatisfaction with our service.

After reviewing your claim, I can confirm that the claim was handled correctly and in accordance with our procedures and the procedures set out by the selling dealer on their account.

You reported a fault to us on 12.02.2026. You stated that an EML light had appeared on the dashboard; you believe it was the battery. However, you weren't certain whether this was 100% accurate, so the administrator reviewed the claims procedure with you and advised you to obtain confirmation from a repairer before we could state any liability.

The owner is responsible for booking their vehicle into a VAT-registered repairer and obtaining an initial diagnosis. We require repairer confirmation of the fault, which is standard practice for all warranty companies.

If you did not have a warranty, you would still need to take your vehicle to a repairer to confirm the fault. Our process remains the same, as this is what would be required with or without a warranty.

All we ask is that once your chosen repairer has identified the fault, please submit an estimate/report to us for assessment. We will then review the provided claim details and inform you whether your claim is valid.

We cannot confirm liability until we have the repairer's confirmation.

The repairer confirmed it was the battery. We then advised that the battery wasn't covered under your level of cover; however, we didn't stop there. We then had a discussion with the selling dealer to secure a positive claim outcome for you. This outcome is the result of us contacting your selling dealer on your behalf, which goes beyond the terms of the agreement. so that the repair costs did not fall solely on your shoulders.

To our knowledge, you had no contact with the selling dealer, as you refused to contact them throughout the claim; therefore, the statement that the dealer didn't realise we were this bad is very unlikely, as when we spoke to the dealer they advised they hadn't heard from you, and I can also confirm that we are just following the procedures requested and put in place by the dealer; however, we will touch base with the dealer on this.

​Your next step is to contact the selling dealer, who will arrange the battery replacement. The battery will be supplied to you, meaning the vehicle does not need to be moved or returned to the dealer.

Bluechip Warranty have assisted you with your invalid claim and secured you financial assistance towards your repair costs, which means we have more than fulfilled our obligation to you.

Unacceptable Claims Process - Confirmed Coverage, Then Declined

I am writing to express my extreme disappointment with the handling of my warranty claim for a failed water pump on my vehicle (claim filed on March 3rd).

After an initial back-and-forth for information, I finally received confirmation from a member of your team that the water pump is a listed covered component under my repair agreement.

However, despite this confirmation and the diagnosis from a JLR specialist indicating an internal failure (short circuit, fault code P2600-13), the claim was placed on hold and essentially rejected. The reason given is that the "cause for the short circuit failure" must be confirmed, which would require me to authorise the dismantling of the component. When the garage confirmed this didn’t need to be done , after several more emails they declined based on Bluechip states that the vehicle repair agreement does not cover any form of wiring or water ingress, and therefore the repair does not fall within their liability.

My JLR specialist has advised in the email thread that dismantling is unnecessary, as the failure is internal and confirmed via visual inspection and diagnostics. They stated clearly: "We do not need to strip down the vehicle... the part that requires replacement has an internal failure, the part is not functioning correctly."

It feels as though I am being subjected to a deliberate delay tactic and an unfair requirement to avoid honouring a valid claim on a component that has been confirmed as covered. I have paid a significant amount for this warranty and expected a professional assessment, not a rejection based on a refusal to accept the diagnosis of a certified specialist.

I urge the Bluechip Warranty claims management team to review my entire correspondence and reconsider the decision. This level of service is unacceptable

After reviewing your claim, I can confirm that the outcome is correct based on the information provided.

I can also confirm that the claim assessment was carried out correctly and professionally.

We asked all the right questions to determine whether a valid claim was present; however, you and your choosen repairer refused to provide any additional information. The only information supplied was a short-circuit fault code P2600-13. This code does not confirm that the water pump has failed; it indicates various possible faults, e.g., wiring, the control module, the water pump switching valve, or water ingress.

We asked multiple times to be supplied with more conclusive information confirming that the water pump had failed, but this was refused. Therefore, we had no choice but to assess the claim based on the minimal information we had been supplied: the code above. This manually points to a wiring failure or water ingress, neither of which is covered under his agreement.

All that was asked of the repairer was to confirm that the water pump had indeed failed, and nothing else was causing the above code; your choosen repairer refused to dismantle the vehicle to confirm.

We are not sure why your choosen repairer refused to dismantle the vehicle to confirm the water pump has failed, as the vehicle will need to be dismantled regardless to complete any necessary repairs.

Your choosen repairer cannot 100% confirm the water pump has failed until the vehicle is dismantled. The water pump may not be functioning correctly, but this does not mean it has failed; other systems or components could be causing it to fault.

Once the vehicle has been dismantled and the repairer confirms that the water pump has failed, we are more than happy to reassess the claim.

1⭐ Very Poor Service

Extremely disappointing experience with Bluechip Warranty Ltd asked me to obtain a repair quotation, which took time and effort and £96 only to later tell me the issue wasn’t covered under the warranty. If it wasn’t covered, they should have said that from the start instead of wasting my time and money

Poor communication and a completely frustrating process. I definitely would not recommend dealing with this company. Warranty not worth the paper or email it wrote on. Do not trust them.

We depend on the owner and repairer to submit the correct information in accordance with the terms of the agreement, and we cannot be held responsible for any delays in its submission.

Once we had the correct information, this was then assessed, and the claim outcome was confirmed within 3 hours.

Unfortunately, on this occasion, the reported repairs did not fall within the terms of the agreement.

As a company, we do not guarantee coverage for every component on a vehicle or all necessary repairs. The components that are covered are listed in the Vehicle Repair Agreement Booklet, which corresponds to the specific level of coverage indicated on the owner’s certificate.

We recommend that you read the agreement booklet thoroughly to familiarise yourself with the features, benefits, definitions, exclusions, and customer requirements.

6 Month Warranty supplied from dealership.

I bought a used vehicle from a dealer who sold it with a 6 month Bluechip warranty, and having never used a warranty company previously, I was apprehensive on how the service would be.
I was pleasantly surprised.
The customer service over the phone was very helpful and although the claims procedure initially was alien to me (as my garage didn’t want to deal with Bluechip directly), it actually was much smoother than anticipated!
My vehicle was booked in to the garage, diagnosed with the fault, the claim submitted and approved by Bluechip, the fault repaired and I was reimbursed by Bluechip(the majority of the cost of the repair), within the same week.
I hope I don’t have to deal with them again, but if I do I’d be confident in their standard of service.

Awful company and service is…

Awful company and service is diabolical.
Made a claim as radiator failed and started leaking.

Cannot reply to your absurd comment.
The radiator cracked and caused a leak. It was not damaged or corrosion did not cause this. There is absolutely zero corrosion anywhere near the crack.
Also would like to point out that radiators are made of aluminium and they do not corrode.
Also on the paperwork and booklets we received with the cover it states that we are covered for a repair if the car or parts fail. Use are a con of a company using anything to get out of fixing a car all because our warranty cover was due to expire.

People stay clear of this company.

However, we have clearly stated that we are happy to reassess your claim if new information is provided and the component is sent in for inspection. Since this option was declined, we are unable to proceed with reassessing your claim.

We can only base the claim outcome on the information provided. The pictures show that the radiator is still on the vehicle, so an actual assessment of the component is not possible.

Very bad experience

Very bad experience . When I buy policy your dealer say we cover this this. But when I go for claim you sending lot of condition. Before I take van in garage I call your team. She clearly say they cover my van timing belt. I tell her van mileage as well. Now you say mileage overdue . Why she didn’t said. And your team send me email your claim successfull . After reviewing your claim, I can confirm that the outcome is correct based on the information provided.

On 05.02.26, you contacted us to report that the timing belt required replacement. During this call, we explained the claims procedure and outlined the next steps. However, you ignored this information and the terms of the agreement, and the repairs were completed before receiving our authorisation.

After receiving your invoice, we requested the service history of the vehicle and proof that the timing belt was replaced previously at the correct intervals. This documentation is required for all timing belt claims, as stated in the terms of the agreement.

Proof of previous timing belt replacement at the correct intervals was not submitted, and you confirmed you did not have this documentation.

As a result, the timing belt was 15 months and 9,766 miles overdue for replacement.

This agreement does not cover general maintenance or damage caused by a lack of maintenance.

Please note: No warranty product would have covered the replacement timing belt under these circumstances.

You were provided with the full terms of the agreement when you purchased the vehicle. It is your responsibility to review these terms.

The owner is responsible for ensuring that your vehicle is maintained in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations.

The welcome email you received on 14 November 2024 after purchasing your vehicle contains the following statement:

Please review the attached customer certificate, paying close attention to the level of cover, duration, and individual claim benefit. Additionally, please familiarise yourself with the content of the attached vehicle repair agreement booklet and terms and conditions to understand the features, benefits, definitions, exclusions, and customer requirements of this agreement.

We regret that we are unable to assist on this occasion.

Any agreement of this nature which you enter will have terms and conditions to follow. This is standard practice.

Our member of staff initially advised you correctly, we do cover the Timing belt and this is without mileage restriction.

However, the Timing belt is not covered if it is due / over due the required replacement as per the Manufactures service schedule. No warranty company will cover a failed Timing belt which was not replaced at the correct interval.

You received a claim registration email - this confirms you have successfully opened a claim and provides you with the claim process, not at any point did we provide you with an Authorisation code or approve your repairs.

I apologise that on this occasion we were unable to assist you, however I can confirm that your claim was assessed correctly in line with the terms of the agreement, which sadly, you did not follow.

This information is also currently being provided to you within our email conversation you raised with the claims team.
