The explanation was insufficient, and she then argued with me, which I found completely unacceptable. I plan to share this experience with others. Fortunately, I was eventually compensated for my time.

Absolutely shocking experience with this agency.
From the top down, the staff come across as completely incompetent. Phone calls with management were particularly frustrating - rude, dismissive, and constantly speaking over me instead of actually listening.
This is not how a professional agency should operate.
There are far better agencies out there with friendly, helpful office teams who genuinely support you. I would strongly recommend staying well away from this one.

Awful, they called me and basically insulted me down the phone due to not wanting temp work and needing permanent work! Hung up on me calling me rude when explained I understood what Locum work was and I didn’t want it I was looking for permanent work. If that’s how you speak to people you don’t deserve clients and I’d never work with such a disrespectful agency!

As a member of Doncaster races for many years, all i can say is year on year with the management at ARC racing things just go from bad to worse.
A few years ago management told us racegoers that members area's will not be affected by important meetings but yet again i am informed that a members area called the Lawn suite has been sold to corporate events. This leaves less area for genuine regular race course members who keep the course viable throughout the year.

I'm a regular camper and festival attendee, so I'm familiar with the environments and conditions you accept as the norm when setting up your tent. It was fantastic when I signed up to work for Arc last year at Victorious Festival. The staff were a riot, the festival and my colleagues made the job itself fun, and the campsite was great with a lovely welfare tent, clean toilets, and warm showers; everything was made smooth by the well-oiled machine that was the Arc crew. That's why I signed up to be bar staff this year. However, my experience this time around was an extreme downgrade from 2023.
I ran into some difficulties before I even received confirmation from Arc about my shifts. The shifts I had applied for were still pending, even though I had received ambiguous confirmation emails from Arc, so I decided to call them directly. I had to cycle through four of their six regional phone numbers before I could talk to a human being; the woman I spoke to was extremely helpful and pointed me in the right direction; this said, it's so poor that I had to contact their Scotland number regarding an issue with my shifts in their London region.
Fast forward to arriving at the campsite the day before my first shift. I was with my partner, who had received confirmation on Ubeya but no confirmation email with all the necessary information, e.g. uniform, order of proceedings, location of the campsite, what to bring, and emergency contacts. She would've had no idea what was happening if she hadn't been with me. This is after she had reached out to Arc for support. The security guard at the entrance of the site, the first point of contact for information on where to go, was unbelievably unhelpful. He was on the phone with his friend, discussing the evening he had the night before; we said, "We're here for Arc", and asked, "Are we in the right place?". He continued his conversation without making eye contact and waved toward the campsite. He didn't tell us who to check in with or where to do it. He didn't specify what his half-hearted wave meant. He was so unhelpful it was shocking. There wasn't even a sign saying "this way for camping".
After calling the helpline provided in my confirmation email, we were greeted by Angela, who was such a fantastic help with everything. She was stellar and told us what's what and who's who. Quentin, also one of our Arc support staff, was such a tremendous help with setting up in gale-force winds. They were beyond helpful. Once we pitched our tent, we needed to eat something, so we unpacked our meal deal and took the rubbish to the welfare tent, where I was told by Freemans staff that the only welfare tent on site was for Freeman's staff. I spoke to Quentin, and he told me otherwise; he eventually sorted it, which is great, but surely that should've been communicated between all parties before we showed up.
Once I gained access to the tent to throw rubbish away, I was told there were no bins in the welfare tent or on site (for reference, there were huge skips and plenty of bin bags in the welfare tent). The Freemans member of staff in the tent sourced a bin bag. I then asked for wooden utensils (which were also available last year). There were none - plenty of pots of porridge and soup. No spoons. No forks. No knives. I needed a few coffee stirrers to act as chopsticks to eat my pasta. I've double-checked my emails and can confirm that I was never told to bring utensils.
Circling back to the campsite's waste disposal aspect, my partner noticed a sign in the portaloos stating, "Please do not dispose of sanitary products in these toilets." That is an understandable request. Where would one dispose of their sanitary products if no bins are on site?
I expected to be sat down and told who the first-aiders were and how to contact them alongside my colleagues, but this never happened. I also asked what the routine would be, e.g. when our shuttle to the festival was, how to get accredited, and how much of the festival we could see. The answers I got from a Freeman member of staff and an Arc member of staff were so bitty and unclear and differing from each other that I had no better understanding after the conversation.
Through the night, we decided to head home due to the weather conditions and the lack of confidence in our tent surviving a weekend of gale-force winds and torrential rain. I went to the welfare tent to get a drink and found three or four tents pitched up inside the welfare tent. I asked about it, and the Freeman staff member said the plan was to get as many tents as possible inside the welfare tent. That was obviously a fire hazard with all the electrical appliances, charging ports, and people smoking inside the welfare tent. It was a terrible idea; I'm glad we left before that happened.
This said, I can't stress enough how amazing Angela and Quentin were.

I have to say although the work was quite difficult at times due to the long shifts and early mornings, the week was so so good. Loved every moment with all of the staff especially with our VERY ATTENTIVE manager at the time, who shall remain un-named (Emma King) Genuinely i enjoyed every moment both at work and socialising afterwards, the ARC team were always present and helpful through hardships and trials throughout the week and I can’t thank them enough for the great week! :)

Loved working here. I worked with freeman's and I have previously before. Love working with them.
I'm not a swifty fan but she did put on a gd show.
Also I hadn't worked in the catering side before and I actually really enjoyed it. Had a gd laugh to be honest , can't wait for my next shift.
Think my only issue would be no transport provided.
As I would defo do more shifts if some transport were provided

I thoroughly enjoyed my week at royal ascot 2024. I came with ARC Liverpool and it was my first time and hopefully won’t be my last. Our manager Emma was amazinggg and was the first to check in with us before and after our shift to make sure we were all good and if we needed anything. The shifts and allocation process was very smooth. It was also really nice to meet and get to know fellow arc members better especially as it being my last year in Liverpool. This was a perfect farewell for me and my time at arc, very appreciative of this opportunity:)

I’ve recently worked the Royal Ascot with Arc Liverpool and can honestly say I have no complaints. I had a wonderful week, the accommodation we stayed in was so lovely, the staff I went with were all so friendly and respectful and were always looking out for each-other. Working on site was great, although the week was busy and hard work, it was still organised and fun.
Our manager Emma King was superb, always first on site and last to leave, running around making sure all the staff are comfortable and safe, and was always available to help with any issue.
Overall, I had an amazing week, and can definitely say I’d love to go back next year. Thanks Arc! :)

I have been with Arc Liverpool for 2+ years and my experience has been positive. Compared to experience of friends working at other agencies, Arc stands out in prioritizing employee wellbeing and interests. Additionally, I have had the chance to work at various prestigious events nationwide like the Royal Ascot, Cheltenham, Golf Open to name a few.

I recently had the pleasure of working through ARC Liverpool at the Royal Ascot, and it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. The whole process was incredibly smooth, thanks to Emma. She ensured that everyone was well informed on where to be and at what time, which made the entire event run seamlessly and removed stress from the team.
Emma also secured us job allocations in great areas, making the work not just manageable but genuinely enjoyable and the communication and organisation ensured that all team members felt supported and valued throughout the event.
Additionally, the atmosphere created by ARC Liverpool was professional yet friendly, fostering a positive work environment that made every shift a pleasure. I would highly recommend working with ARC Liverpool to anyone looking for a well-organised and enjoyable work experience.

I have just finished working at the Royal Ascot for 5 days from the 18th-22nd of June and it was an amazing experience meeting new people and working in such a special enviroment. The team at ascot were amazing support especially ARC Sarah, Jay and Val are fantastic. I am very grateful that the company Arc allowed me to be a part of amazing experiences. The Ubeya system makes time management easy and works smoothly around my schedule allowing me to select the days and time in which i was available and how it can all be managed simply through a single app.
