They cost me over $600 and it's not over yet - AWFUL
Wow I'm not sure how this company has good reviews? Probably paid and from friends and family? To do you all a favor I hope you research them before you sign up for their program because they cost me so fat over $600 and it takes MONTHS to cancel them. We installed solar panels last year and even though our Xcel bill is tiny because of the credits we have from our solar panels (which we owe btw) Arcadia is charging us full price of energy spent, meaning we are paying panels plus paying Arcadia for using our own produced energy. And it's been going like that for 10 months. I've been on email with them since January trying to get those credits back and to cancel Arcadia service without success.

Go onto the BBB and read all the complaints about how they fraudulently charge your account when you have told the door to door rep NO multiple times. Arcadia, how did you get my bank account information and take money from me without my authorization? How did you become a 3rd party billing with Ameren IP when again I did not authorize anything or sign up for anything?

Total ripoff
Total ripoff. They claim to save you 10% off your energy bill but due to scam billing practices- you pay 40% more. This is a scam company. DO NOT USE THEM

My utility bill went up significantly…
My utility bill went up significantly this winter. I assumed it was due to the season and global energy supply issues. Have Been using Arcadia for around 3 years. When reviewing my regular utility provider bills with the community credits, they at times would not match. Arcadia has no transparency into your personal account to understand the cost breakdowns clearly. It requires a call each time. This particular time they did admit there was an accounting error between systems on their part. Due to the lack of transparency, I have decided to cancel my account.

Watch for doubling of bills
The first few months of using Arcadia was fine. Then I suddenly was charged double what my utility usage was. I called for an explanation and got three different answers. First they said the utility made a mistake, then they said the solar field 'overproduced', then they said it was their mistake. Either way I had a $300 credit with the utility company that I can't get to and they can't tell me when I'll get that money back. For some reason Arcadia decided to give my utility a $300 interest-free loan from me and can't explain why. They do not disclose anywhere that this could happen. If you use them, when you get the email saying they're going to charge you, make sure to login to your utility account to se what you're about to be charged so you can stop them from charging extra fees.

Billing issues and horrible customer service
They didn’t charge me one month then double billed me the next month. The $5 credit they offered for this inconvenience isn’t enough to cover the late charges from my real energy company. Additionally, they told me it would take 90 days to cancel my account with them. This is a much longer time period than the 30 day cancellation they promised at sign up. Horrible company with horrible customer service.

I have been very happy with Arcadia but…
I have been very happy with Arcadia but my friends and I are ‘senior citizens’, and I’m sorry to say, many aren’t open to change.
A very mixed bag
The entertainment was excellent. The food was pitiful unless you pay extra for the special dining rooms. Christmas dinner was a joke. One potato, three hard sprouts ,a lump of something , two carrot slices and some dry turkey. A trifle which was inedible biscuits and dry cherries. Shameful.

Not clear that Arcadia can actually supply solar power
Signed up for a solar farm in May of 2021. Here it is December of 2022 and they tell me again that I will be seeing savings "in a month or two", for probably the fifth time when I have complained. It is not clear to me that this is legitimate. I have filed a complaint with my state public utility commission.

Poor customer service and dishonest billing
Update: The company states they have sent a refund. I have as of 12/20 not received it. They initially stated it would be refunded to my original payment. When I inquired further after not receiving it, they are now stating they have sent it to the address I moved away from in September, which started this whole mess. They have not provided a tracking number. I continue to be disappointed in their poor communication and service. I still have yet to even discuss this with someone via phone as their billing service is unavailable by phone.
I had no issues with this company until I was switched to community Solar. Then my bills tripled and quadrupled. My electric bill did not. I ended up with a $1658.48 credit to my electric company National Grid. I called to cancel and was informed it would take 90 days. I was moving within this time frame and was assured that when I moved, the credit would be refunded to me and my Arcadia account closed. After closing my account, National grid sent the credit back to Arcadia because it was a Solar credit. (Understandably this was their mistake but they told me my solar company had to send me the money back) this was November 3. I contacted Arcadia that week and they told me they would escalate my case and get back to me. I contacted them again on 11/29 and they told me they were “still looking into it.”
I filed a complaint with the better business bureau and since that time the company has refused to respond to me. They still have my money and will not give me any updates on what the ongoing timeline is to return my money.
In addition, they overcharged my last bill by > $400. I was fortunately able to get that resolved through my credit card company.
This company has dishonest billing practices and incredibly poor customer service in regards to resolution of billing issues.
I would recommend extreme caution before signing up especially with solar.

Absolute bait and switch scam
Absolute bait and switch scam. For a while my bill from Arcadia matched my ConEd utility bill. Then all of a sudden the bill amounts from Arcadia were 2x-3x higher than ConEd. When I called ConEd they confirmed I was being over billed. When I called Arcadia to dispute they tried to obfuscate and evade. Then they refused to cancel my account and claimed I have to wait 90 days to close my account. In the end I changed my email details on ConEd and contacted my credit card company to block Arcadia as a merchant from future billing. Totally a scam and do not fall for it.

Want to triple your costs? Arcadia is your company!
This company is horribly rated everywhere else on the internet. Not sure what the disconnect here is.
If you enjoy being charged double or triple your electric bill, stay with these people.
Like other reviewers stated, it’s good the first year and then BOOM a huge bill and no one can explain why. They blamed it on BGE; then tried some double talk.
They can explain it, they just don’t want to because it’s not the savings they you all over the internet.
I want to do better but I don’t want to be screwed over by those who lack transparency.
They said they will look over my bill in their reply if I’ve seen an increase. I have. Repeatedly . They can’t explain it and don’t care 🤷♀️🤪

Worth using if you care about renewable energy
Been using Arcadia for 9 months or so now, on two different properties. Never had any issues so far, and I like being able to track how much carbon I've offset. The only thing I dislike is the username situation for my utility company; your login info has to change when you sign up.
Completely nontransparent
Completely nontransparent. My utility bills did not noticeably decrease in any way but when I tried to cancel - which was a nightmare of a process that they may deliberately difficult - I was told I actually only get to keep 10% of the savings generated and I actually owe them money. I had to pay $83 to close my account, which for some reason took 90 days to do. If my actual utilities company can close my account in a couple hours, I see absolutely no reason why they should need 3 months to do it. I really wanted to continue working with them because even if it wasn't actually saving me month I felt the environmental benefit was worth it, but I have never had a more frustrating experience with a company and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.

I sign up to save and end up paying more
I signed up to Arcadia to pay less and to use a sustainable energy source. At the end, the opposite happened. Everything was working great until I cancel my membership with them because I moved out of the state. They should have removed their auto bill email from the electricity company (Edison California) but they never did. That means all my bills were going to their email instead of mine and I ended up having to pay 5 months after moving because I thought the service was canceled. Watch out! If you don't pay attention, you will NOT save money and will end up paying more.

Now paying close to 4x times as much as…
Now paying close to 4x times as much as my utility company charges (Eversource). It took me having to follow up multiple times on various accounts to see the detail rates of how much they over charge. Now they claim I have to wait months to go back.
Also was mail bombed with political campaigns. Had to opt out of all communications to get it to stop.

Negative reviews seem weird, never had issue for years
Over the last 6 months, I’ve used 6324 kWh of clean and renewable electricity to sustainably power our home. While my home is connected to the regular grid, thanks to Arcadia and for a small fee, we are paying indirectly for electricity produced in a Wind farm in Texas. We have always the money in the back to pay on time, we moved once, and have never had any kind of issue. By doing it with Arcadia, we have helped keep tons of coal, oil, natural gas, and uranium buried in the ground. 1627 pounds of coal averted, 18196 cubic feet of gas averted and 27grms of uranium averted. 100% recommended.
SCAMMERS. DO NOT SIGN UP.
I have asked them multiple times through email and over the phone to cancel my account. They tried to “entice” me to stay with them, and I declined every “offer”. I check my bank account and see that since I’ve asked them to cancel my account, they have stolen hundreds of dollars from me and refuse to fulfill my cancellation request. Scammers, do not sign up with them. They will literally rob you blind.
