⭐️ 1/5 — Extremely disappointing experience at Aqua Sana
We booked and paid for a Spa Day for two adults at Aqua Sana at Center Parcs, hoping to enjoy a few peaceful hours of relaxation.
Instead, we experienced an extremely stressful and disappointing situation.
We travelled two hours by car to get to Aqua Sana, with our three-month-old baby, specifically because we were hoping to have a rare few hours of rest and relaxation.
When we arrived, however, security refused to allow our car onto the Center Parcs grounds.
We were told that, because our booking was for two adults, the two people who had actually paid for the Spa Day would have to leave the car and walk to the spa, while the driver would have to leave the Center Parcs grounds with our three-month-old baby.
This restriction was not made clear to us at the time of booking or payment. Had we known about this requirement in advance, we would never have made the two-hour journey.
What made the situation even worse was the way it was handled. We found the attitude of security extremely rude, unhelpful and disrespectful, especially towards paying guests who had travelled such a long distance with a very young baby.
We had travelled two hours to get there and then had to drive two hours back home, without being able to enjoy the experience we had paid for.
This was not a minor inconvenience. We had carefully planned our day around our three-month-old baby and made a four-hour round trip because we were looking forward to a few hours of relaxation. Instead, the entire experience was ruined before we even had the opportunity to enter the spa.
We left Aqua Sana extremely disappointed and frustrated, feeling that our time, money and effort had been completely wasted.
We have submitted a formal complaint to Center Parcs and requested a full refund. We hope the management takes this situation seriously and reviews both the communication of these restrictions and the way paying guests are treated by security.
If you are considering visiting Aqua Sana with a young baby, I strongly recommend contacting them before travelling and getting clear written confirmation about access, parking and what is expected of you when travelling with an infant.
We certainly wish we had known this before making a four-hour round trip with our three-month-old baby.
What was supposed to be a relaxing Spa Day became a very stressful, frustrating and completely disappointing experience.
We had an extremely disappointing…
We had an extremely disappointing experience at Aqua Sana Spa in Woburn, which was particularly upsetting as the visit had been booked as a birthday treat.
When we arrived, we were told that my friend’s treatment had been cancelled and that there was nothing else available that could be offered to her during our visit. After around 20 minutes of waiting and being passed between staff, which was eating into our four-hour spa experience, the receptionist eventually returned and said she could offer my friend the Mud Ritual, but it would not be until right at the end of our session.
My friend then had to rearrange her childcare arrangements to make this work. This was incredibly frustrating, particularly as the cancellation was not something we had caused and had only been communicated to us when we arrived.
We then went straight upstairs for our booked afternoon tea. Unfortunately, this was another very disappointing part of the day. It took almost an hour for our sandwiches to arrive. By this point, I had to leave to attend my pre-booked treatment, meaning my friend was left sitting alone and waiting for me.
When I returned, the food was extremely poor quality and, in fact, I couldn't eat it. I ordered a glass of Prosecco, thinking that at least this might help to salvage the experience and make the afternoon feel a little more celebratory. Sadly, even this took so long to arrive that we eventually gave up and left.
In total, we spent nearly two hours of our four-hour spa experience sitting in the café waiting for food and drinks. This was completely unacceptable and meant that a significant proportion of the time we had paid for was effectively lost.
My own booked treatment was an Express Facial. Unfortunately, this was also uncomfortable. I was positioned in a practically upright chair with no neck support. The therapist was very sweet and did her best to make me more comfortable by rolling up a towel to support my neck, but the overall positioning remained uncomfortable, with my leg propped up on a footstool.
I want to stress that the therapist herself was lovely and clearly tried to make the best of an unsuitable treatment setup. My complaint is not about her personally, but about the overall experience and the way the day was managed.
What should have been a relaxing birthday treat turned into an incredibly frustrating and disappointing experience. From having a treatment cancelled without prior notice, to spending almost half of our four-hour visit waiting for food, to the poor quality of the afternoon tea and uncomfortable treatment setup, very little of the experience met the standard I would expect from Aqua Sana.
We left feeling like we had been mugged. What a total waste of money! Don't go here, find somewhere else to spend your hard earned cash.
Very disappointing experience and…
Very disappointing experience and extremely poor customer service.
I was charged in GBP instead of EUR, even though I expected the payment to be processed in euros. This resulted in an unexpected additional cost for me.
I contacted customer support to resolve the issue, but unfortunately, despite contacting them and waiting, nobody actually followed up with me or provided a proper solution. I had to keep chasing the issue myself.
What is most disappointing is not only the unexpected charge, but the complete lack of communication and responsibility from the company. When a customer has a problem with a payment, I expect it to be taken seriously and resolved promptly.
Unfortunately, based on this experience, I cannot recommend this service. Very poor customer support and not the level of service I expected.
This was my first ever visit to Aqua…
This was my first ever visit to Aqua Sana and Centre Parcs, and I can honestly say what a wonderful experience it was from start to finish.
Every single person I came across was so lovely, friendly and welcoming. I explained that I’d never visited before, and the lady on the gate was incredibly attentive. She clearly explained where I needed to go and even wished me an enjoyable time in the here and told me to relax, which was such a lovely touch.
The receptionist was equally approachable and welcoming, and even the staff I passed throughout the morning were so smiley and friendly.
A special mention to Kayleigh in the café — she was fantastic! She had such a warm, genuine vibe and really added to the lovely atmosphere.
I honestly had the best morning here and have already booked my second visit! The facilities are absolutely beautiful, and I can completely understand why people rave about Aqua Sana.
Thank you to the whole team for making my first visit such a lovely one. I can’t wait to come back! 🤍✨
Rude Cafe Staff
Had a nice day with my daughter who had previously loved coming as a treat for a spa day.
However, the cafe experience spoilt the day. No sooner had we sat down we were pressured by a member of staff to decide what we wanted, even though lunch at been booked (by them) for 12.00 and was practically empty. My daughter hadn’t decided on her drink and was looking at the menu when the lady serving said very rudely, ‘Don’t you want a drink’ - this was within 2 minutes of sitting down. She then pressured us to decide on food, again very quickly and we had to ask for a few more minutes at least twice.
The food selection was poor and the menu has clearly been reduced so dang hardly a thing is included in the hefty spa day price.
Sadly we will likely not return.
I would like to share my feedback…
I would like to share my feedback regarding my recent visit to your spa.
This was my second visit. The first time, I came with my husband, and we had an amazing experience. The spa was clean, not overcrowded, there was always fresh cold water available, and it was easy to get a clean towel or bathrobe whenever needed. The food was also delicious. We enjoyed it so much that we decided to come back.
Unfortunately, our second visit was very different.
The car park was completely full, and we spent quite a long time looking for a parking space. Once inside, the spa was extremely crowded. Instead of feeling relaxed, we felt stressed because almost every area we wanted to use was full of people. As a result, we became bored quite quickly and decided to leave almost two hours earlier than planned.
The quality of the facilities also seemed to have declined. The water in the jugs did not look fresh, and the swimming pool had a very strong chlorine smell. The food selection was limited and disappointing compared to our previous visit. The salad, in particular, did not taste fresh.
Before leaving, I went to the changing room and found that my bathrobe and towel were wet. I asked a member of staff if I could have a fresh towel, but I was told that there were no clean towels left. I found this very disappointing, especially considering that the spa costs around €100 per person.
I completely understand that busy days happen, but I believe the number of guests should be managed better so that the quality of the experience does not suffer. During our previous visit, everything was organised perfectly, but this time it felt overcrowded and chaotic.
Went for the morning experience
Went for the morning experience, lovely breakfast, no changing rooms where the lockers were so every one was changing Infront of each other (males and females in separate rooms) I have had several surgeries due to cancer and had to use the toilets as I was not comfortable doing this, the bottom of the main pool needed regrouting and although we had 4.5 hours we left after 1 hour, not enough rooms for the amount of people, definitely not relaxing, I would rather pay more for a quieter experience, would not visit again, this was the Sherwood forest aqua sana
Poor Customer Service
We tried to call numerous amount of times to discuss booking and see facilities before booking due to the mixed reviews.
When we arrived, security immediately informed us that we have to book online, and have no option of seeing the facilities prior?!
We recently celebrated my mum’s 60th…
We recently celebrated my mum’s 60th birthday with a spa suite experience, and it was absolutely perfect from start to finish. A huge thank you to Chris, who truly made our day so special.
Chris went above and beyond to make sure we had the most memorable experience. She was so thoughtful, kind and attentive, and nothing was ever too much trouble. She made us all feel so welcome and ensured every little detail was taken care of, which made my mum’s birthday even more special. My mum doesn’t drink alcohol, and without us even asking, Chris thoughtfully brought a selection of chocolates to our room instead. It was such a kind and personal gesture that completely made my mum’s day.
Thank you, Chris, for making such an important celebration one we’ll always remember. You’re a real credit to the team, and we can’t wait to come back!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Bad bad food don’t eat there!!
The spa itself and facilities are quite nice, however the spa is cold and the pool outside is also not heated to a reasonable temperature. Mostly the food is absolutely dreadful, poached eggs the same as McDonald’s for €160pp…. Not cool
Rude staff with inadequate ability to deal with allergies
We went to the spa for a relaxed hen do with food at the end. The food experience was utterly dreadful. Whilst I (now) understand that all the platters are made to be shared by two people…. You have made it impossible for people with intolerances/ allergies. The staff were rude, when I told them I was gluten free AND vegan I was told I couldn’t have that. I can be gluten free OR vegan. Oh. Thanks. Tell my body that then please. They then proceeded to make us all feel awkward by trying to serve something up, that was inadequate and being rude to us whilst doing so. We ended up with gluten free bread and vegan cheese as our option. Amazingly limited and poor. My hot coffee arrived cold and had to be remade. All in all a dreadful experience and terrible end to an otherwise pleasant and relaxing experience. I would NOT recommend eating here.
Won’t be returning
On arrival booked in and added scalp massages £55 for 25 mins, seemed an alright price… the reality was a 16 minute session which I husband timed, 3 mins either side for consultation and dressing so really it was about 10 minutes. Absolutely disgusting!! We paid extra for some breakfast with quite a long wait even for the drinks, probably an hour before getting food and actually going into the spa. Spa itself was lovely, get staff service throughout and advice. Lunch inc was nice but small portions so later ordered coffee and cake and flat bread…. The cakes came before drinks after 40 mins, my scone came under cooked and had to be sent back, after an hour the drinks came and after nearly 2 hours and asking and being told 3 times it was on the way, they eventually said the chef had missed it. Safe to say we didn’t pay for that bill but 2 hours of wasted time we’d paid for to use the spa facilities. For the cost of the day, we would not return. Nearly 4 hours just waiting for and having food/ drinks we managed to get around 3 hours of spa time that’s all. Shocking!!
the best relaxing time!
My husband and I had the most amazing day at Aqua Sana Spa Woburn Forest. From the moment we arrived until we left, every single member of staff made us feel so welcome.
A huge thank you to Amanda, the manager, who greeted us with such a warm smile and took the time to explain everything. Rachael on reception was lovely and gave us great advice about the different spa experiences and treatments available. Rhys was also brilliant, showing us around and recommending the Forest Serenity Suite, which turned out to be the highlight of our day.
We booked the 25-minute Forest Serenity Suite experience with Leonie, and honestly, it was one of the best relaxation experiences I’ve ever had. We were welcomed with lavender and eucalyptus aromas, a refreshing drink and completed a short wellbeing questionnaire so the session could be tailored to what we needed.
I chose the relaxation programme, which included an anti-gravity lounger, gentle vibrations, noise-cancelling headphones playing calming brainwave frequencies and a relaxing eye mask. I have regular massages, but this was something completely different. It helped me switch off just as much, if not more. For 25 minutes I completely forgot about work, my phone and everything else going on in life. I genuinely didn’t want it to end, so next time I’ll definitely be booking the one-hour session!
The little touches made it even more special. We chose our own essential oils, had a warm scented flannel placed on our chest at the end, and the gentle movement of the lounger made it feel like you were floating. It was such a unique experience, and I’d recommend it to anyone looking to completely relax and reset.
We also stopped for lunch at the Spa Vitale restaurant and were really impressed. The service was quick and friendly, and the summer menu was delicious. We had the chicken flatbread with olives, which was fresh, really tasty and the perfect lunch during our spa day.
The changing rooms were spotless and had everything you could need. I especially loved the Elemis products in the showers—the shampoo and conditioner were amazing and left my hair feeling so soft. It’s those little luxury touches that really make the experience even better.
The whole spa was beautifully designed and had such a calm atmosphere. The foot spas were amazing, the pools were the perfect temperature and there were so many different experiences to enjoy throughout the day.
This is honestly the best spa I’ve ever been to. Every member of staff we met was friendly, welcoming and happy to help. Thank you to everyone at Aqua Sana Woburn Forest for making our visit so special. We left feeling completely refreshed and can’t wait to come back again.
Poor customer care and didn’t get the treatment I paid for and didn’t know until I was I. The treatment room
Visited aqua sana Woburn today for a stress recovery treatment. Completed a medical form and told by receptionist that it was fine post cancer recovery for the back neck and shoulder massage. Got in the room and the therapist advised she was unable to do the back massage with any pressure, so much so it tickled. Paid £99 for the treatment and complained that what I had booked and what I received was not the same. They gave me a 20% refund but really unhappy and will not be back here due to this experience. Very disappointed and have never been made to feel like a ‘cancer patient’ until today. I appreciate they have policies but I was told it was fine! Had I known otherwise I would have cancelled or changed as I didn’t get what paid for and under the sale of goods act they should have refunded it all. Will be making a complaint to trading standards regarding this.
Refused treatment in the actual treatment room!
I had booked a treatment months in advance and paid for it at that time. We arrived at Centreparcs Longleat on Monday 1st June 2026 and I was really looking forward to my treatment on the Thursday (4th June) afternoon, but I was told in the actual treatment room that I could not have the treatment, because of a slightly bulging disc that I have. I was offered an alternative or a refund! To say that I was disappointed is an understatement! I tried to explain that I had had a treatment last year and there had not been any problem, but was told that they had changed their policy and my treatment could not go ahead. Why on earth was this not covered when I originally booked my treatment? You were happy to take my money! Why would you "Aqua Sana" let a customer book a treatment in good faith, for it only to be cancelled at the very time of the appointment. I feel very disappointed and let down and will NEVER EVER be returning for a treatment with you ever again. In fact, if I could have given you a score of zero I would have! The member of staff who was booked to do my treatment was apologetic and the member of staff on the front desk was apologetic and professional and arranged for a full refund. Shame on you Aqua Sana!
Unfortunately, that's not the end of the saga! We (myself, my best friend and her daughter) were also booked in for an afternoon tea at 15:45 - at 16:20 I had to ask a member of staff why it was taking so long for our afternoon tea to arrive! Apologies followed and a free glass of Prosecco was given and then the tea eventually arrived - it was very nice, but tainted by the experience!
The time we spent in the actual sauna/spa area was very relaxing and we enjoyed it very much.
Disappointing, overpriced
Disappointing. I have been visiting Ragdale Hall, plus other hotel based spas (such as Whittlebury) for a number of years. Heard good things about the size and facilities at Aqua Sana, but the prices were more than Ragdale - which is solely a spa, not a tag on to Centerparcs where you also get holiday makers popping in.
Because of this, I really expected a lot. I expected it to be as good, if not better than Ragdale - where you pay a lot of money but are treated like royalty while you're there
Paid over £500 for a day with 2 treatments to visit Aqua Sana. Both treatments were supposed to be an hour (shorter than usual for the prices) but both ended after 40-45 minutes.
Cost more than I've ever paid for a massage and a facial and to be honest it was just ok. Staff didn't seem to want to be there, no advice offered and when I did ask about a problem I have with my skin, the very young girl just looked at me blankly.
It felt like a load of newly qualified kids from college. There was no one I saw with any experience, or that took any real care to treat the customer individually. My friend experienced exactly the same.
The spa itself is huge, and split into sections. I was so excited to try the various different steam rooms and saunas. But they are basically all the same, jut called different names.
There was hardly any actual steam in the room, and when it does steam there was no different smells or experiences. The seats in all of them were hard and uncomfortable, and there was far too many people there, so squeezed into rooms, too close to other people (many on their phones!) or groups of people all talking loudly and with no respect for others that may wish to relax and enjoy the experiences.
Very few places to lay quietly and comfortably. Even the water beds were not what I expected, soaking wet, dirty, just not nice.
On the plus side I cannot fault the cleanliness generally, in all the spa rooms. It was just the water beds.
The pool was nice but so full of people it wasn't relaxing at all and you couldn't get to the jets, people just stayed by them for hours. There was also a big group of people with additional needs that were understandably shouting and screaming, adult men staring very closely at women, which can feel a little uncomfortable with everyone in swimwear. I completely understand that spas should be open to all, and it was lovely to see them enjoying themselves, but perhaps there should be specific days for such groups, as it does have an impact on people who have saved for a year to have a truly magical, relaxing experience. In the same way you would not expect kids to be allowed to a spa on the same day as adults.
Food and drink - We were given a drink on arrival but had to pay for a croissant. Lunch was included but a very limited choice, and 3 of those were not available. Service was slow and like a centerparcs, not a spa retreat. Food was underwhelming and portions were small. We asked for a tonic water, to be told they didn't serve it. Yet Gin and Tonics were on the menu!
Basically a disappointment all around. If this had been a simple hotel spa, it would be fine. But for a day costing over £250, with nothing included except for a small lunch, plus another £250 spent on treatments, to be honest I felt robbed.
Overall the spa experiences are the most disappointing - there should be salt based rooms, herbs, different heats and experiences. They need at least one more pool, and I coudl not find a hot tub anywhere!
I have obviously been spoilt at Ragdale, but I will now never go anywhere else as this is what a spa experience should be. If you've never been, go! It's amazing!
Worst spa experience ever!!!
Visited Aqua Sana in Longford, Ireland. The worst spa experience I have ever had. The steam rooms were great but everything else about it is far from good. I had an Elemis facial, the lady who did the facial was lovely but I doubt the products were Elemis .. I didn’t feel like I had had a facial .. zero effect! Everything is tired and frankly it doesn’t feel clean. The lunch included in the expensive package was very, very poor. Had been heated up and lacked taste. Do not waste your money it’s not good!
Not the same relaxing experience it was
Really disappointed in our recent visit. Have been many times in the past and always enjoyed the spa’s, however, we visited last week and it was extremely busy and noisy. Guests were taking photos and videos from the balcony of the pool and everyone in it as well as having phones in the saunas taking photos. The noise levels were really high with people constantly talking loudly and laughing even in the quiet relaxation waterbed area. Definitely gone downhill which is a shame.
Disappointing
I visited Woburn Forest Aqua Sana in April.
Vitalite cafe is a joke. The portion sizes for the included "dinner" are a small snack I'd give to a child. I had the Moroccan chicken focaccia and cannot recommend it less. It came with a pathetic salad of a few pieces of lettuce and carrot. The focaccia was like a third of a flat panini and the chicken was bland and dry. No flavour and no sauce. An awful meal which took 30 mins to arrive. The cafe was very quiet when we were there and there were a lot of staff around so I don't know what the delay was. We were trying to order for a while before anyone served us - the staff were stood in a corner talking to eachother and not checking tables. I was starving when the food arrived and it was so small that I was still very hungry after.
The sauna itself is a scam for what you pay. The "25 experiences" are just the same 3 things over and over: cold sauna rooms, steam room, relaxation room. They have a few shower "experiences" but they are literally just walk-in showers. Considering how much we paid I'd expect there to be more on offer. All of the treatments are additional to the main fee and extortionate prices.
The sauna rooms were all busy so there was a lot of waiting around for space. It was a far cry from what was advertised. I won't be recommending aqua sana or returning.
Most underwhelming experience ever
Most underwhelming experience ever. Basically lots of different rooms with different types of beds to sleep in and a couple of saunas and showers.
Also far too many people allowed in at once.
Wish I’d looked on here before I booked.
