Zero Customer Service
Andersen can not claim they have customer service. Customers are irrelevant to them.
Can't Trust Window People
Good lord. We have an older 850 sq ft home with 8 windows max and I mean smallish windows. Their rep quoted us $32K for new windows!
What a total scam!
Worst company in the world
Worst company in the world - I've dealt with them directly since 2006 - first home build resulted in a lawsuite we won because they had so many defective windows and refused to honor their warranty. Fast forward and I just bought a home with of course brand new andersen - several defects found by andersen's own inspector and they are once again not honoring their warranty so back to court we go. Avoid them at all costs. The folks there have all been really nice but they gaslight you and you will not get any warranty honored.
Over priced
My wife solicited a consultation & price quote from Anderson. For just 7 windows & 1 sliding glass door, the quote was a stunning EIGHTY-THOUSAND dollars! I thought they must have inadvertently added a zero. No thanks, Ander$on.

Anderson Windows quality has gone to ****
I have used Anderson windows for 30 years. I will Never. Buy another one. We had a patio door with the internal shades installed in February, on the 25th, 2026. It was a 5k$ door- which of course included the install. I was hesitant to buy a patio door with the shades on the inside, because what happens when they break? They have a good warranty. So I bought it. On March 26th, was raising up the shade with the slider and it broke. Not only broke the slider, but the track it was on is also coming off. I called the warranty number, was on the phone with them for 45 minutes /. They accessed my phone, they had me take measurements, they had me go inside and outside to see the door. The part is covered. However to have a technician come out to evaluate the door.. Four HUNDRED dollars. I said no. And I will no longer buy Anderson. Nor will I recommend Anderson. If you are looking for a patio door, do not buy the one with the shades on the inside.
Anderson windows are the absolute…WORST!
Anderson windows are the absolute worst! When I purchased my home the Anderson windows had been all replaced new within 4 years. I had a huge 70 “ window replaced within the first year of purchasing under warranty due to a seal fail. I had to pay for labor. The entire window was discolored and had bubbles in it. That was the end of my warranty. Now I’am stuck with windows that all leak air very badly in the winter. I can’t close them correctly, top up all the way up and bottom down all the way down, so 90% of my windows don’t lock. Please, please do not waste your money on these windows, from someone who has no choice but to live with their defective windows at this point.
Total scam
Total scam. Order 2 x shoes in size 7. They shipped one in size 8 and one in size 9. Now they are trying to charge me for shipping product back. Avoid this company. Pretending to be a Canadian company. NOT!!!
The Andersen enclosed blind windows are poor quality.
The Andersen cord operated enclosed mini blind windows are awful. From the start, the blinds will not close all the way. The salesman told me straight faced that the Pella magnetic windows with enclosed blinds could "wear out". I told him I didn't think magnets would do that. Ridiculous but my spouse wanted to do business with this dealer and not Pella so we bought 12 various size windows. From the start, the blinds rarely would close all the way and several barely move. My friend's magnetic Pella are twice as old and still work flawlessly. We had ours installed in 2020.
1-Star Review
1-Star Review: Misleading Sales Practices and Poor Customer Service
We had high expectations for Andersen Windows & Doors given their reputation, but our experience was deeply disappointing and unprofessional.
The Issue: During our initial consultation, salesperson Stephen explicitly promised an 8-10 week lead time for our front door installation. We made our purchasing decision based on this timeline. After placing our order, we were informed the actual timeline would be 16-20 weeks - literally double what we were promised.
Their Response: When we escalated this significant discrepancy to management, we were offered only a token $500 discount despite the material misrepresentation of delivery timelines. Sidney from their team was unprofessional and dismissive throughout our attempts to resolve the situation.
The Outcome: Rather than work with us to find a reasonable solution for their misleading sales practices, Andersen chose to walk away from the business entirely.
This experience suggests either poor internal communication between sales and operations, or intentional bait-and-switch tactics. Either way, customers deserve accurate information upfront, not promises that can't be kept.
We cannot recommend Andersen Windows & Doors based on this experience. Shop elsewhere if timeline reliability and honest communication matter to you.
The door looks decent but after a few…
The door looks decent but after a few years the hinges start to give and the door sags and drags on the frame so the hinges need adjusted, I adjusted them to the max. After that I had to have a person from Anderson come install new hinges and a new seal which cost me $300, then a few years later which is now it’s happening again. I would not recommend Anderson doors.
Frustrating all around
Frustrating all around.
We purchased a home with Andersen windows and doors last August. I wanted to learn about warranty details because one of the doors leaks when it rains. They quoted me $700 to come out and “tune up” the doors which were installed within the last four years. Of course, a few months later, one of the doorhandles just completely came off. You would expect that with such a “superior” product, you would also get high-end support. If something breaks, you have to help them identify the piece over the phone. Apparently they don’t just have a service where a technician can come out and assist you. You would think that if companies that provide dining tables are willing to do that, companies that provide products that are imperative to your home’s safety and function could also include such a service. Safe to say, we have called them three times and every time they have sent us the wrong parts to fix our door. I have Google image searched the part, and because they are so close to the chest about their products, you cannot just locate and purchase a replacement. But I argue you also shouldn’t have to - especially when your door is under warranty. Things happen, parts break - but Andersen seems to rely too heavily on things not going wrong. And when things do, they really drop the ball. There’s no problem with believing that your company provides a high quality product and standing by it - but you can’t call yourself a high quality company without accounting for the moments that your product fails.
Don't buy
The bottom of screen door sticks. The handle is cheap quality. The lock and door latch malfunction. Tried to replace handle where I bought it. That comes without lock and latch parts. You have to buy the oh so expensive complete handle with lock and latch from Andersen. Customer service is horrible. When I saw the
Inceased price on bank than I was quoted I tried to . cancel I was told I had 1 HOUR TO CANCEL ORDER. It had been 2 hours. Buy a better brand!
New windows by Anderson have broken…
New windows by Anderson have broken seals. Probably happened during rough installation. They also leak air. Anderson says they will NOThonor their warranty. Garbage products. STAY AWAY FROM THEM!!
Andersen is not the company they claim to be.
We built a new home in February 2024 in which the builder installed Andersen 100 series windows. From the first day we moved in, we experienced extreme temperature variations between rooms. With outside temperatures below 25, some rooms were 60 degrees. In summer with outside temperatures over 90, some rooms were 80 degrees. The thermostat remains set at 70 degrees.
After thorough investigation with an infrared temperature gun and thermometers, the windows turned out to be the source of the problem. We contacted the builder, and they found no issues with installation and told us they have installed these windows in other houses with no prior complaints.
After numerous calls to Andersen Customer Service, my case was escalated to a supervisor who reluctantly agreed to send a representative out to inspect the windows. He only performed a visual inspection of the inside and outside of the windows and said he found no problem. No tests were done to see if the windows met manufacturing specifications. The representative also stated that was the best I could expect out of Andersen 100 series windows.
These windows are manufactured with Low-E glass and are Argon gas filled and are Energy Star Certified. Is this normal performance for an Andersen 100-series window or are my windows defective? Does Andersen really market and sell windows that are this low a quality for a new construction home?
There’s an undeniable problem, but Andersen is not willing to acknowledge the possibility of their windows being at fault. To make matters worse, they refuse to work with customers to reach a resolution to the problem.
We are left with one option: replace all the windows in a 9-month-old house. You can be sure the replacement windows will not be Andersen.
If you’re looking for new windows, do your research and make sure you buy from a company that has a good record of quality products and customer support. Andersen is not that kind of company.
Dishonest “advertisements” should be a warning
I came on TrustPilot to look at Andersen Corporation’s rating after getting unsolicited mail from them that was deceptively designed to look like a notice of something needing to be addressed quickly. I’m not too surprised that a company that uses trickery as a model to try and obtain business is poorly rated and has complaints about dishonest business practices and shoddy work also.
Really good warranty
I installed my sliding patio doors in 2017 and through MY mistake in giving them the wrong information, it looked like they were not under warranty, even though it turns out in the end they were under the 10 year warranty. My doors have built-in blinds between the glass panes. The problem was that the mechanism to raise the blinds was failing. At first they diagnosed the problem and said I needed a part that counting tax and shipping was $50. The part was a 3 inch piece of plastic which I could have printed on my 3D printer for $0.15. It also was not the solution to my problem. Once I figured out that I was actually under warranty, and proved with a video link that the mechanism was failing, they were happy to to send me a new door for free. They also issued a full refund on the $50 part. Their customer service people are really friendly, and they really stand behind their warranty, but after 10 years, expect to pay an absurd amount for repair parts. If it wasn't for the $50 price tag on a 3 inch piece of plastic, I would have given them 5*s.
I have a new home that has Anderson…400 series windows
I have a new home that has Anderson Series 400 windows. The finish is black. Within 6 months the sills started to blister and discolor due to sun exposure. A representative came and inspected the damage. He claimed that it was due to the installation of the masonry and another representative said it was due to chemical wash. The brick was not cleaned with any chemicals. I was in the construction industry for 40 years and served as a vice president of a commercial and industrial contractor. It is far too commonplace for a company to blame installation prior to making a logical analysis. The seal obviously wasn’t manufactured to endure the heat generated by the sun. Producing a durable product which can provide years of service is the manufactures responsibility. Not the end consumer. They refuse to take that responsibility and even worse, they won’t communicate. I have experienced horrendous customer service from Anderson. Probably the worst I’ve seen in my 40 plus years in the industry. That is saying a lot.
6 months, job still not complete due to poor quality
The job started back in April 2024, it is still not complete, mid-October, 2024. The product, (touted as top-quality), was full of defects, and exhibited poorly fitted, over/undersized parts, some forced into place, incorrect size windows were delivered also.
An attempt at remediation by their 5 man (wrecking) crew left a wake of damage to previously good parts, and removal of defective parts, only to be replaced with the part they had removed!
I'm weary of their unresponsive representative, as well as living with black trash bag window coverings, and furniture covered in drop cloths.
Run away, as fast as you can from this manufacturer's product.
IMHO, they are breathing the last breaths of a former "industry leader", relying on past quality, previously earned customer loyalty and relationships to the region, while they churn out sub-par, at best middling quality windows at a premium price!
It's like paying for a Bentley, and getting a Yugo!
Lack of integrity
When the rep. came to our home to give us a quote on the windows we needed replaced he said we had 72 hours to end the contract. After considering the exorbitant amount for the cost of windows we reached out to the rep to cancel and he avoided our calls. When we tried the main number to Andersen they said we needed to speak with him directly. We were not able to cancel the contract and ended up paying $6K for two standard size bedroom windows.
We are now going with another company, for our other windows, that offers the same quality at a fraction of the cost. We'll be paying on the Andersen windows for a long time and it is very frustrating.
Also, the installers did not do a professional job and the trim on the windows was poorly done. When we approached the installer about it he basically said it wasn't their issue.
